I’m so happy I found Michelle’s place! I’ve had two facials — one with microdermabrasion and one with extractions — and I have had a waxing by her. Her facials are amazing and reasonable, and I leave with glowing skin that does not get irritated. I’m in my early 30s, have sensitive skin, and still fight acne, but it never flares up after facials. Her waxes are quick and relatively pain-​free! Her pricing is very fair for the amazing services she provides. If you’re in the Del Ray or Old Town area, you’re missing out if you don’t see her!

I went to Cloud 9 for the first time about 10 days before my engagement session photos. Michelle was great. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. It was a very relaxing experience. She explained everything she was doing and gave me some great advice on skin care.
The whole experience felt very personalized. I really appreciated that she considered my immediate needs: recent mole removal, engagement session, upcoming wedding.

Michelle is fantastic — very good and very funny (and you need funny during waxing!). I have been going to see her faithfully for the last 3 years and my brows have never looked better! I highly recommend her!

Visited for the first time today for eyebrows & I will definitely be a regular! She starts off by drawing an outline of where she will wax on your face so you can see what it looks like before she pulls anything. So comforting! Very friendly & professional and all the treatments are done in a super cute house in the heart of Del Ray.

Michelle is awesome! She really took the time to do an outstanding job waxing my eyebrows and paid a lot of attention to detail. I went back for microderm and a peel and she was equally as great! I had some questions about my skin and she was really informative and helpful. She’s super down to earth and friendly, and I really look forward to my appointments there.
As long as I have been going to see her, she has handled all of the appointment booking and you’ll usually have a leave a message on her voicemail, but she’s great about getting back to you and booking, confirming and will text you as a reminder. I would definitely recommend her!

Love Michelle and Cloud 9. I have been seeing her for years for waxing and other services. She has recently moved down a few blocks to a bigger and better space. I wish her the best of luck as she grows and expands her business. She sure is doing thing right and is very gentle and personable.

I don’t know how I found her, but am I happy to have! I didn’t want to go to any random waxing salon. I wanted to know that I was being taken care of. I still have yet to have my 1^st appt, but her consultation deserves a rating. She didn’t try to book me right away, but anticipated for my appt to go well and postponed it to a later date. She also asked me which times are good for me instead of the other way around– being a working student, it’s a little difficult to make appts but Michelle made it happen. I’ll be writing a follow up next week after my appt.

I can’t believe there aren’t more amazing reviews for Michelle! After looking all over the DC/​MD/​VA area for an affordable esthetician, I saw the few reviews on here for Michelle and thought I’d give her a shot.
I’ve had acne problems for awhile but with the help of Michelle’s expertise, patience, and willingness to combine therapies, my skin keeps getting better! She really takes the time to talk to you about your skin and like one of the other reviewers said, she’s not there to sell you products. She genuinely cares about helping you achieve your max beauty potential :) I know she offers several different services (waxing, nails, facials at least) so you should check her site out.
From day 1, she’s been extremely helpful and very welcoming (her location is very relaxing, from the scents to the music to her presence — people are always dropping off little gifts for her too). Her schedule is always packed and she only goes by appointment, so make sure you shoot her a note or give her a call if you want to see her. If you want a nice, comfortable, and personalized experience, go see her!
Plenty of free street parking near her place and she takes credit cards for both her services and tip.

Michele is AMAZING! I have been using her services since I moved into the neighborhood in 2007. Waxing and facials are some of the best I have ever had. GREAT skin care tips. Fantastic product recommendations. Echoing another poster… she gives samples so you can try out yourself (and tells you how to get the most out of those samples!). And when purchasing a product tell you how to get the most out of them as well! She fits you in– has flexible times — and is incredibly affordable! She really looks out for what is best for the client — no overselling at all! Bonus — she makes you laugh! Again — echoing prior poster…5 stars just doesn’t cut it — this place deserves 10! if not more!

I cannot recommend Cloud 9 highly enough. I have been going to Michelle for five years for waxing, skin care and nail services. My skin has greatly improved since starting a treatment regimen of facials, alphahydroxy acid peels and microdermabrasion at Cloud 9. The prices cannot be beat (compared to salons and spas). Michelle is very accommodating with appointment times on weekends and evenings. Cloud 9 carries excellent products for sale. Michelle is knowledgeable and provides consultations on products and home skin maintenance.

Michelle, the proprietor of Cloud 9, is a treasure. Her skin-​care treatments are first-​rate and the facials are fabulous. I love her personal style — not at all pushy, very nurturing and flexible. I feel lucky to know her.

After searching long and hard for a place to get some much needed skincare services, I came across this treasure thanks to Unilocal!I called for an appointment, and was able to discuss my skin care concerns. Upon arrival and a warm welcome, she provided a thorough consultation about the condition of my skin, and the services she could provide. Let me emphasize that my appointment was really MY appointment… meaning she was very attentive to me without distractions and took her time, all in a private and relaxed setting.
I received an awesome facial and then she provided some education as well. No salesman type of rant that many places give; but how to care for your skin at home with some product samples included! Oh and did I mention that I got a follow up phone call the next day to see if I had any questions or if there were any skin reactions to the treatment!
And the bonus… the services were affordable!!!
If you want professional, experienced and friendly skincare services, this is the place!

I was referred to Cloud 9 via the Ann Welsh Salon (I’m not a client. I walked in to get my eyebrows done and they referred me) From the get go. Michelle responded to my inquiry within minutes and from the moment I met her. I was in love! She is so caring. and gentle. Where she performs her services. is like «Home Base». it smells wonderful. feels cozy and every time I lay on the bed. I instantly relax and feel taken care of. My eyebrows always look wonderful. my arches always look perfect. I will never go anywhere else!!!

I found Cloud 9 through a recommendation from the stylists/​staff at Ann Welsh Salon in Del Ray (Alexandria). I believe Michelle, the owner, used to work there until she branched out on her own and opened Cloud 9.
I’ve been seeing Michelle for at least a year to get my brows waxed. She is absolutely meticulous, which I love, and is incredibly friendly. All of her clients love her and she’s always on time with her appointments, though I know her schedule is usually quite booked. I have recommend Michelle to a few of my friends and they all think she’s great. Her prices are also less expensive than other salons in the area (e.g., Red Door, SugarHouse, etc.). I would absolutely recommend her to anyone; you won’t be disappointed!
