Description

Specialties

Now enrolling! The Child & Family Network Centers (CFNC) is an Alexandria-based network of high-quality bi-lingual preschools that provide children with the tools they need to succeed in school and in life. Nine classrooms serving 157 children. Students have developmental gains three times the national average. Most of our preschool spots are provided for free to low-income families but we have a few spots reserved at market rate in our Old Town classroom.

History

Established in 1984.

For the past 30 years, The Child & Family Network Centers have been changing lives. We got our start when a group of seventeen dedicated mothers realized that their children had failed out of kindergarten because they didn’t have access to high-quality early education. Determined that this would not be the case for any more children in their neighborhood, a teacher was hired, a classroom secured, and CFNC was born.

Although we had a humble beginning, our impact has been anything but. Over the past 30 years, we have used our holistic approach to create opportunities for families to progress out of poverty and change the trajectory for current and future generations. We have served families speaking 33 languages, who came to the United States from 82 different countries. More than 3,500 young children received a high quality preschool education and their families received services that enabled them to improve their health and find better housing and jobs.
