Change of Art Laser Tattoo Removal

I love this place! I have had two sessions here, and already have my third booked. Caroline performed both of my sessions, and she is wonderful! Laser tattoo removal HURTS, but she made me feel very comfortable and at ease.

I had a lot of hope for my treatments. My first session went great. The last session was with Sharon’s daughter, I think she was on vacation at the time.
The treatment hurt like hell, which made me think the laser was set too high for my skin tone. (Sharon went into great detail about needing lower laser, over a longer period of time, because I’m darker toned.)
And like I thought, it lightened my skin around the tattoo, but not the tattoo. Now it looks blotchy and horrible. I haven’t been back since.

I am so happy to have found this business. Sharon was so professional and educated about the tatoo removal process. Sharon explained what would be the best treatment for my tattoo then she comforted me through the entire procedure. I would definately reccomend her service and I will be back too.

I initially had my tattoo removal done from a different place before I came here and this place is the real deal. Caroline was immensely informative and supportive throughout the entire session. The atmosphere here is also calming and soothing, so getting comfortable and at ease isn’t difficult. Caroline is also extremely careful and gentle! It was overall a great experience.

Caroline is a sweetie. Feel so amazingly comfortable with her… she is the real deal. She doesn’t sugar coat as to not getting high hopes of this terrible reminder tattoo disappearing instantly. She explained it could range as far as how many sessions I’ll need over what amount of time. The laser itself really took less than a minute; but my tattoo is smaller than 2×2. The office is cute and clean. I was able to adjust my appt time from 3 pm to 7 pm with NO hassle. Will post more as far as results once I’ve healed a bit.

She joked with me and made me feel so comfortable with the entire process!!! She gave me realistic expectations with my tattoo! Can’t wait to finish this process!!!

I had a great experience here with my treatment. I went to another place on the past in Arlington and Change of Art was less expensive and a very pleasant visit. She made me feel comfortable and we chatted (at my request) to take my mind off the discomfort. I declined numbing, which was offered.
I will definitely keep coming back to Change of Art until my tattoo is gone!

This place is great! i dealt with the owner to set up an appt and it was a pleasure dealing with her. When my boyfriend and I walked in for his appt, I was so pleased with how lovely the place is. The waiting area, the office and the laser room are all nice spaces. The girl who greeted us and actually did the lasering for him was extremely friendly and informative and took the time to show us examples of work that had been done there. So she recommended the best way to treat his particular tattoo. A month later, it’s already soooo much lighter and will continue to lighten. There is also zero signs that it will scar. I originally came to this place because I know 3 people who have been treated here with amazing results! I have been recommending them to everyone who asks. (PS their rates are so absolutely reasonable!!!) BIG THUMBS UP ON ALL FRONTS!!!

This place was great. I had been driving by the office on Rt1 for years and saw the «tattoo removal» sign in the window. I figured it was just some rinky dinky hole in the wall place. It’s not. The office is nice, has at least three laser removal machines, certifications, degrees around the wall etc. The owner Sharon is former military and nurse. You can tell she knows what she’s doing. She explained to me the process so I understood. She also showed me pictures of past tattoo removals and what to expect etc. The procedure didn’t really hurt that bad either. The laser removal machine has a hose that blows very cold air out of it if you start to feel any pain. I was able to control that and it helped a lot. She even gave me a discount if I did 4 sessions in one day, which I did. I’d highly recommend this place. Thanks Sharon, you made the whole process easy!
PS. I even requested more information through text msging her on my phone, she actually replied to me. Very smooth, easy to reserve an appointment etc. We finished scheduling via phone and I was in her office within 48 hours!

Never been in better hands! Sharon is an RN + artist with the laser. Had tattoo removed here 3 years ago, and when I wanted sun spots removed there was no question who I wanted to do it – Sharon! Super cute office, and trust is a HUGE deal for me, making Change of Art the only place I’d use! :)

I HAD a 17 year old tattoo of a seahorse with greenish blue with red and yellow details on my ankle, about an inch and a half long and half inch wide. Small but the colors are the more complicated ones to remove and there is no fat on the ankle so also a difficult place to have a removal. I had begun my tattoo removal journey when I lived in San Francisco and had visited several private dermatology clinics who had quoted me prices that made me go home and cry, I thought I would just have to live with it. I ended up going to the University hospital and got a better rate by seeing the dermatology interns.
I moved to the DC area and found Sharon at Change of Art. Her prices were a third of what I paid in San Francisco! She used a local cream anesthetic, which turned out to be significantly less painful than the injection anesthetic I had received in previous treatments and the injections had also bubbled into a blister which left some light scarring. I did not have any of this with Sharon’s treatments. I believe I received about 7 to 8 treatments total, and maybe 2 – 3 of them were with Sharon. The tattoo is no longer noticeable, I’ve had one or two people ask me if I got hurt on my ankle but I think they are looking at the discoloration left by the scars from the treatments I received at the dermatologist.
Sharon was always very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. She checked in with me after treatments and then contacted me a couple years later to make sure I was satisfied with the outcome. I am so relieved I do not have that terrible art work in such a difficult place to hide. I wear skirts, shorts, dresses all the time and never feel self conscious anymore.

I just had my first visit with Sharon, she’s amazing! Such a great person. Her office is very clean and professional. I loved all her diplomas and certificates displayed. Really good vibe being there.
I did the R20, it’s four treatments in one sitting. I’m so pleased I chose her business over zap-​a-​tat (which I had a consult at but they’re further from me and their prices are insane even with military discount) the actual procedure didn’t hurt, people say it feels like a snapping rubber band, well it defiantly does, but by the 3^rd time for me, I couldn’t really feel it anymore.

So far my experiences have been great. Sharon is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I will definitely recommend this business to others looking to get tattoos removed. I can’t wait for my next appointment.

Sharon represents value & professionalism. She offers both the science & art to laser remove the sun spots off my aging face. The office is spotlessly clean and she knows what she is doing. She has erased skin tags, brown spots, red spots all over me.

I purchased two Groupons for laser tattoo removal at Change Of Art. I was very pleased with the service and results from my previous session, so naturally I wanted to go back.
At my last appointment, which was this past Sunday, Sharon made my fiancé and myself feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I don’t want to go back now.
She kept bringing up the fact that I was using a groupon.
She noticed that my fiancé was very attentive to my needs during the procedure, and commented on it, which was nice. However she asked him if after we got married he «wouldn’t care as much» (or something to that affect). To which he replied that he would still be as attentive. She told us she had a couple come in who were engaged, and the guy was attentive just like my fiancé, but when he came in after they got married he didn’t seem to care at all, and he was wanting a divorce actually.
My fiancé told me that she was very precise with the laser the first time, but this time it appeared as though she just rushed through the procedure. We felt rushed the entire time. She didn’t go over the details of the procedure and I didn’t get any aftercare instructions (I never got a copy last time either)
I felt I needed to let her know that the reason I wasn’t getting another r20 was because I was trying to save for my wedding. She said she understood.
She asked either if I was really getting married, or if I really wanted to get married. Very inappropriate.
We feel as though we were treated differently because we didn’t spend as much money as we did the first time.
I have some huge blisters, and more pain *after* this single removal process than last time. I barely blistered at all after having the r20 session (if you don’t know what that is — the same area is gone over with the laser 4 times in one day with 20 minutes between each pass). Blistering is normal, but I just don’t see how I’d blister more with only 1 pass with the laser. It makes me feel very uneasy.

Extremely professional experience. I was very nervous and she talked me through everything without pressuring me into anything. I even witnessed her tell a lady she didn’t think she needed laser removal when she could have easly taken her money. To me that shows professionalism.
I can’t really post on my tattoo’s progress yet as it has only been a few days, but I will be sure to repost with pictures when the time comes. As far as communication is concerned with the reviews previously posted… I’m a little confused. I called and received return communication in the same day and had an appointment set up for that weekend. Sharon even called me the next day to make sure I was doing okay.

I went last night for my first session and it was much easier than I thought it was going to be. I’m an African American female, so Sharon went over all the risks that are associated with laser removal on darker skin. She showed me tons of pictures of other darker skinned patients and made me feel comfortable about the process.
I showed up last night about 30 mins earlier so I could get the numbing medicine. After the 30 mins, I was given some super cool laser glasses to protect my eyes and I laid down and prepared myself for the pain! Surprisingly, it was very little pain. It felt like tiny snaps of a rubber band but very bearable and it was over within 10 mins. Great prices, very comfortable, and easy process.

My initial communication experience was bad, however, the owner quickly corrected this. After she read my Unilocal comment, she immediately contacted me and we began the treatments.
I am not [yet] able to comment on how successful the tattoo removal will be, but I can comment on the quality of service:
— Very Clean and Hygienic Office [I am a germ-​phobe so I pay attention to these types of things]
— Friendly treatment [no pressure tactics]
— Detailed explanation of the procedure [the 1^st and 2^nd visit]
— Great communication Before, During and after the treatment [I had some issues arise and received prompt feedback. I didn’t have to wait hours or days for assistance, I received communication within 1 hour]
— The technician/​nurse has great bedside manner [made me feel comfortable during each of my two treatments]
— I received an appointment reminder text two days before my second treatment
— Great pre-​treatment education [During my initial visit, I was given details regarding the best case and worse case scenario of having a tattoo removed. I was also shown photos of various individuals who had received laser treatment from this facility. All of my pre-​treatment questions were answered to my satisfaction]
— The price is great compared to a Dermatologists office. [My Derma quoted me $ 300 per treatment for 12 treatments]

Sharon is as good as it gets! I’ve been to two different laser tattoo removal establishments before I found her and I will NEVER go anywhere else. She’s affordable, she’s flexible, she’s friendly AND she genuinely cares about her customer’s comfort level. Her equipment is top of the line and is always clean and well organized. She has done an amazing job with two tattoos that I wanted removed and all for an absolutely affordable price.
The other «customer» that left the ¹⁄₅ stars has no idea what he/​she is talking about. Sure, she can be a little hard to pin down sometimes, but she’s usually back to me within one business day. Not receiving a phone call in three business days does not warrant such a low rating. She runs this business on the side, so give her a break.
I’m here to tell you that her actual SERVICES — maybe not her phone etiquette — but her actual services are TOP NOTCH. You will not find a better place. I can guarantee it.

Sharon is a well trained and exceptional practitioner. She conveys genuine concern for her clients, and is always striving for the optimal outcome. I had previously been to a dermatologists office in DC where I was clearly paying too much for a tattoo that wasn’t fading.
She even has a cool air blower to keep the area chilled to lessen the discomfort. She uses multiple types of lasers to individualize her procedures.
