We specialize in bed bug detection and elimination and are a fully licensed pest control company. We are licensed to work in Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. Additionally, Capital K9 Bed Bug Solutions is fully insured and bonded for extra peace of mind.

We have two bed bug detection K9 teams, who are highly trained and certified by the National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association (NESDCA). We offer one day, highly-​effective heat remediation, should we find bed bugs. We also offer the more traditional pesticide treatments.

Hello! I am a certified commercial applicator for pesticides and my bed bug dogs, Lexi and Zip, and I are certified as bed bug detection teams by the National Entomology Scent Detection Canine Association (NESDCA).

Our trained bed bug dogs take the anxiety out of bed bugs. Their noses are able to find the bed bugs that the human eye would miss. You won’t need to wonder if you missed any during inspection. Once we’ve determined the extent of your bed bug problem, we will discuss several treatment options for you and your family.

When we inspect your home or business, we will come in unmarked cars and everyday clothing. Our dogs will appear in disguise as our loyal pets. Hero? Visionary? All-​Around awesome dude? Yes, yes, and yes.
Dave and his team are a bunch of relentless killers (of bedbugs). They committed bug genocide at my DC rowhome at the beginning of October (whole-​house heat treatment), and have been following up with sprays since then.
The infestation on this short-​sale rowhome was beyond extensive (think Starship Troopers meets Tremors meets IDK, some MTV/​HGTV hoarders show). When cleaning out the house, I had teams of Home Depot guys threaten to quit on me on several occasions because of the level of bug infestation.
After getting several quotes, I decided to go with Capital K9 and I have not had a moment of regret since. Their price was competitive, and Dave was the only person who actually went to the house to check it out himself. In addition, Dave walked me through every step of the process and answered all of my questions like a true professional.
Despite having MULTIPLE months of treatment and follow-​ups, Dave and his guys have been 100% on top of everything. They are responsive, dedicated, and extremely friendly.
I highly recommend these bug warriors to anyone in need of bedbug extermination.

Dave and his team were AMAZING. I am so lucky that out of all the BB companies listed on Unilocal I chose Capital K9. We had a major bed bug infestation thanks to our neighbors (we lived in a townhouse) and Dave was immediately able to identify the source, the problem and the action plan. He talked us through everything and all of our options and helped to settle my nerves (being eaten alive every night made me a lunatic). Since our neighbors were taking no action to get rid of their bed bugs, we had Dave’s team do a full heat treatment on our townhouse on a Thursday and we moved to a home with NO SHARED WALLS on a Friday. We have been BB free since the treatment and I have Capital K9 to thank for it. The treatment is pricey (but better pricing than other BB companies I priced out) but worth every penny!

I’m grateful to Dave (and Lexi)! I had just returned from vacation, with bites everywhere and was really anxious about possibly having brought the bugs back with me. Not only did Dave help calm me down, but he took time to educate me on bed bugs and on what to look for. He explained things to me as he was doing them, which really helped in a situation like this, where one feels a complete loss of control — not to mention the itch factor. I never felt rushed. At a certain point, you just have to make a choice and trust. So glad I chose K9!

Turns out I don’t have bedbugs, but I was incredibly impressed during a phone interview with Dave. He took a ton of time to tell me what to look for, discuss other possible problems, and refer me to the right specialist. Pretty amazing service on behalf of someone who wasn’t even a customer.

The first floor tenant in my row house reported that he had a zillion bites and the clinic in our neighborhood said they were bedbug bites (gross right!?!) So I called Dave and he came within hours of my call — he did a incredibly thorough inspection of the bedroom in question as well as the living room couches. And he talked the whole time explaining why he was doing everything and generally educating us about bedbugs and their yucky habits. He didn’t find any evidence of bedbugs but then he brought Lexie in (the K9 half of the partnership) and she did another thorough inspection and fortunately she didn’t find any evidence either. So we didn’t need to hire them to get rid of bugs but I gave them 5 stars because they responded within hours of my call and did a great inspection!

Dave and his team did a great job resolving the bedbug issue at our house. After my husband and I returned from an international trip, I saw a bug crawling along the headboard early one Sunday morning. I got a bad feeling in my stomach, feeling fairly certain it was a bedbug. After reading the awesome Unilocal reviews for Capital K9, we called Dave, who talked to my husband on the phone the same day and said the bug sounded like it might be a bedbug. He came out the very next morning to check the house. He identified the remains of the bug as a female bedbug and told us about the options to treat the house. We ended up having the house heat and pesticide treated because I am very squeamish about critters in my house. Dave was able to send his team out that Wednesday, and the speed with which we were able to schedule the treatment was greatly appreciated. The team that did the treatment was very professional and immediately put us at ease. Dave just came out with his dog to do a follow up check of the house (2 months after initial treatment), and so far, everything is good!
The best part about Capital K9 is that they gave me my peace of mind back. I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown after I saw the bug, but Dave was able to assure us that everything would be okay! He was very accessible by text and phone throughout the entire process and took time to carefully address our questions and concerns. As unsettling as it was to have a bedbug in our home, it is great to know that there is an honest, reliable company out there who can help.

I immediately felt relieved after talking to Dave during our first conversation. We had been battling bed bugs for months. A large commercial company had been spraying consistently but with no relief and we were looking for another solution. Dave strongly suggested that we check with our neighbors who adjoin our rowhouse in DC and I am so glad that he did! We discovered that they had bedbugs, were not bothered by them and had them long before we moved in. We also discovered that the bugs had also spread to two additional rowhouses on the other side of their house as well. Dave was nothing less than professional while coordinating all of our treatments and helping to convince one of the neighbors to allow us to treat their home. We used heat treatment and chemical barriers on the walls between the rowhouses. Had we gone with another heat company who didn’t try to problem solve the source of the bedbugs, the bugs would have just come back after paying all that money! Dave has one of the only companies I am aware of that can do both heat and has a license for pesticides. He is so knowledgable about bedbugs, his technicians were so pleasant and he truly went above and beyond to help us solve this issue. I am so incredibly grateful that we found Dave and his company!

We were nervous we had bed bugs when a friend who stayed in our house found out she had them at hers. We called Capital K9, and they were great. Dave did a thorough inspection first and then brought in the dog, and then he also did a thorough inspection. Even though we did not have bedbugs, phew, I was happy to spend the $ 200 for peace of mind. In the event, we had them that price would have gone to the cost of eradication. Overall, I would highly recommend Capital K9.

Capital K9 was an amazing company to work with. Having bed bugs feels like a nightmare that you cannot wake up from, and it is easy to start to feel there is no solution.
Dave and his team were kind and caring to me, even when I was a mess. They systematically took care of everything, while educating me about the bugs and helping me to prevent this problem in the future.
When the first two treatments were not enough, they would have been well within their rights to charge me for another visit, having already fulfilled what they had promised to do, and having passed the date of the guarantee. However, Dave and his team came back again and again for MONTHS after the expiration of my guarantee. HIGHLY recommend.

Dave and his team are AMAZING! Dealing with bed bugs is a horrifying and humiliating experience and it was overwhelming, to say the least. Dave and his team were thoughtful, kind, professional and extremely knowledgeable about what was necessary to eradicate our bed bug problem.
His team of men went the extra mile to help with moving furniture and checking everywhere.
Dave stayed in contact with us throughout the whole process and even responded to my worrisome texts at 11pm at night. He was very reassuring and considerate. We couldn’t have asked for a better service for such a difficult pest problem.

I waited many months to write this review, just to be SURE. I was so freaked out when we got the sense that we might have bedbugs. We still don’t know where they came from. We think we inherited them from the person who sold us the home. No matter, the bottom line is that we spent approximately $ 3k and got the whole 3 level townhouse heat treated. David and his crew were fantastic, professional, responsive (such a rare trait in MD/​DC/​VA), efficient and (yay) effective! You are in good hands with this team. To top it off, they stand behind their work. Mosquitoes bit a couple months after treatment. I fretted but didn’t overreact. I contacted David and he agreed to come right out and inspect. I told him to hold off, I wanted to give it a couple days to see what would happen. No new bites, it really was a mosquito, and we are still bedbug-​free 3 months later.

Capital K9 Pest Solutions is Fantastic!
We highly recommend David if you think you may have bedbugs. He is extremely professional, and the most knowledgeable person you will ever meet about bed bugs. I literally think he must have a PhD in bed bugs — he knows the life cycle, feeding habits, secret locations, all the scientific terms, and every minute detail you would ever need to know.
His inspection process is basically a triple inspection– first a visual review by him with flashlight and magnifying glass, then 2 separate checks by each of his highly trained dogs. Once he showed me a demo of how the dogs can sniff out the scent using live bed bugs, he brought each one separately into the house to search our 2 floor 2 bed /​2 bath apt floor to ceiling. After the triple phased inspection David determined we didn’t have any bed bugs (Thankfully) and charged us quickly and easily using his iPhone and a credit card app. If you do have bedbugs– David or his 2 great dogs WILL find them.

I was extremely impressed with Capital K9 Pest Solutions. I was getting bit by something in our home, but couldn’t figure out what it was. I was convinced it was bed bugs, because I would wake up with bites. Dave initially spoke to me on the phone for about 20 minutes while we discussed the problem I was having. He then
came over and spent at least an hour and half with us investigating and educating us on bed bug signs. Dave’s two dogs both searched our home, but there were no bed bugs. I got my peace of my mind though, which was priceless.
We washed every single thing possible in our home, and also had an exterminator spray for the unknown pest that was biting me. I’ve been bite free for a month now (knock on wood that it stays this way). Whatever issue we had is gone now.
I highly recommend Capital K9 Pest Solutions to anyone who even thinks they have a bed bug problem.

Dave is so amazing and friendly and knows what he is talking about! He took the time to stop by, no charge to look at my house and find out where the problem was coming from and provide me with my solutions.
I had the service done about a month or so ago. I am a young college student and live in a large house of 3 other college students which could make things really hectic. Dave, however allowed us to all pay in different ways such as cash, credit, check. He also had one of his guys spray each of our cars with one needing to be done the next day.
The guy who sprayed our house was also very polite and informative! The woman in the office, Michelle is also so sweet and comforting! We communicated mainly through email which is perfect for me being in school all day!
Overall, the service was QUICK, PROFESSIONAL, BEST PRICE (in terms of other places and with a 90day warranty + car service) «I shopped around,»
Most importantly, two months in and we are still BITE free! I even asked Dave to stop by randomly recently to double check and he said NO PROBLEM and is working with my schedule.
