Candlewood Suites Alexandria – Fort Belvoir

Very friendly. We stayed here because they accepted pets. We stayed for two nights.
My dog was greeted with water and treats at the front door. Nice walking area but poop garbage wasn’t emptied daily.
The gym is connected to the laundromat. So people walk in and out. They do have free weights, 2 treadmills, and an elliptical which was perfect for me. They also have a yoga mat available.
The hotel next door had an electrical fire and burned down in April 2015. Candlewood assured me their electricity was in perfect condition.
I would stay here again.

I wasn’t impressed. Smelled pretty badly of pet stain remover in the lobby. Was supposed to stay 9 nights. Checked out and found a new hotel after the first night. Lots of dogs barking unattended in rooms. No pool. No breakfast. Small rooms.

I got here at 3:05pm. I had a reservation. I didn’t get into my room until 3:53. Only one housekeeper was on duty all day and they didn’t have a clean room for me. They gave me my keys and said they were still waiting on pillow cases and they would bring them up. I was calm and didn’t get angry. I’m still not angry. However, when I asked for compensation, I was turned down. I am a platinum IHG member. I would think they could take better care of their loyal customers…

This place is a total
gem. Pet friendly, with a pet walking area and a bowl of water & kibble to greet all pets & owners! This place is super clean with comfortable bedding. It’s a bit far from the metro however if you’re trying to get to Ft. Belvoir it’s perfect.

Decent stay here. Seemed very clean. Guy who checked me in (Kyle) was extremely friendly & helpful. DVD list went missing from the front desk & he allowed me in the office to take a look at what was available.
As a platinum member I got to pick a drink & snack from the pantry.
My only complaint: the laundry facilities in this particular Candlewood need some work. One washer had a sign that said «out of order», but one of the other dryers did not work either. In addition — on one machine I indicated a «cold» wash — but when I took the clothes out they were steaming hot! Either something is wrong with the machine or the knob is incorrect.
Otherwise a nice stay — bed was comfy, room was standard for the ones I’ve seen at Candlewood — this one has the longer desk style, which I really like.
Around $ 80 on a Friday night seemed very reasonable as well.

I love this place. DVD lending library, free use of laundry machines, on-​your-​honor snack shop, and well appointed suites. Awesome staff. The manager on duty, Kyle, resolved a problem that was totally my fault.
The only downside for me, which is huge, is that it is six miles from the metro. So I had to change hotels after the weekend to shorten my commute into the district.

Pet friendly! Military friendly! Great service. For long term stays rooms are cleaned weekly but they will gladly get you anything you need as long as you ask.
They have a pet area but it is quite small, there is a dog park 1 mile away though. Grist mill dog park
There is a «cupboard» with an assortment of items and food if you forget something for a price with some complimentary items. They also have a lending closet with different items for use. Great place, great friendly staff… they definitely make you feel at home.
