Great place especially for jewelry. There is SO much and it’s all perfectly organized! Only problem is the jewelry is WAYYYY over priced. Granted, there are some really unique, high quality, high value finds that are probably worth their price but I’d say about 75% of the jewelry is about double the price it should be.

The jewelry quality is that of a gum ball machine. Cheap and just above plastic. Would never buy anything there.

I’m a beginner antique shopper, and I came in here looking for a very specific gift for my partner. The owner was so incredibly helpful and nice! I found exactly what I was looking for, for an amazing price. The service was so friendly that I walked out with a spring in my step! I will definitely come back here for beautiful, unique gifts. I’ve rarely had a better or more satisfying shopping experience.

I love this store. I have shopped here for the past 5 years, mainly for jewelry. There is something about having a unique piece of jewelry that feels so special. The business appears to be family owned and operated. The owners have always been very nice. I have nothing but nice things to say

I was walking back to my car yesterday when I decided to pop into this store. The owners were so friendly and nice! I told them that it was my first time in, and the owner gave me a quick description of what was on each floor and left me to wander. I ended up sticking with the jewelry section. They have a TON of costume jewelry, and even some nicer high-end pieces as well. There was so much to look at! Since I had walked in there just to look around, I hadn’t planned on any big purchases, but there was a lot of temptation. Like any antique store, it’s crowded with items of all kinds(books, clothing, furniture, vases, dishes, tchotchkes), but that contributed to its appeal.

BUYERBEWARE. I used to love this store. Bought tons and tons of jewelry from them and brought many friends in who also bought jewelry. Last Sunday, I purchased an expensive antique necklace there. I wore it for 10 minutes before one of the stones fell out. I returned 6 days later and asked for a refund. I was told they have a no return policy(not posted anywhere in the store nor on the receipt nor told to me when I purchased this) and to pick out something else. No offer was made by the owner to fix the item. I am now in dispute with them. I was told that she shouldn’t have to guarantee anything that was that old. What store doesn’t stand behind their merchandise when it falls apart? That is now my last time shopping at that store. Please be careful when you purchase something there!

I came here Sunday with one of my girlfriends. She was looking to find a birthday gift for her mother; I was along for the ride. Glad I decided to get on the train ayyee lol. BW is a small, but comfortable antique jewelry store hidden in Old town Alexandria. Like another reviewer mentioned this place is so well organized, it might have you thinking you want to do better with your organizing and you might even get a slight case of OCD. The prices are really great and they have just about any type of jewelry item and antique piece your heart might desire– turquoise native American jewelry, religious pieces, red jewelry, pink jewelry, religious jewelry, they got everything up in here! So run and tell yo mama, cousin, auntie, teachers, employers, and bank account lol! With pleasant staff, a first class selection, and reasonable prices this place is a sure winner and 5 star chick.

Just got back from exploring all three floors of this neat shop. It’s got a great mix of very well organized jewelry — by stone, theme, etc. — and random cabinets of treasures — rugs, candlesticks, records… The stock is oriented towards art, accessories, and books, so if you’re hoping for furniture you may have to check back.

If it was possible to give more than five stars, I would. This shop is fantastic. An OCD jewelry fetishist’s dream, it is so well organized! The selection is crazy good, and instead of lumping everything together, or displaying by type(ring, necklace, earrings, etc.) as most shops do, BW has everything in special ‘jewelry dressers’ labeled by style or metal content, or stones in addition to type. So much easier to find your particular favs that way! Prices are good, and the pieces are too. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon… and add to your collection!

I absolutely LOVE this shop! I discovered them on my last trip to DC and spent at least an hour combing through the drawers of vintage jewelry. I would have stayed longer but the boy was getting impatient… I’d be in some serious trouble if I lived local or this shop were in San Francisco. I get endless compliments on every piece I purchased at BW Antiques. Go there. NOW!(But save some stuff for me.)
