This has to be the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. I had a bad feeling about this place as soon as I met the receptionist (asking me if I’m a cop right off the bat is suspicious) but I thought I’d give them a chance. Well, I just left the office during a procedure because the hygienist couldn’t even give me an anesthetic properly. Why would I let you keep working on my mouth if you can’t even get the preparation right? I’m sorry but I’m not going to waste my money on incompetent people. Time to find a different dentist.

They had a special going on for $ 29 X-​Ray and Exam. Everything was nice and well. And they created a list of things that I should do for my dental care.

Unfortunately, this place is the poster child of how a dental office can take advantage of people who may not be as educated as others. Their prices are higher than all of the other dentists in the DMV area for every single procedure (look around and compare if you dont believe me). The dentist plays the «I dont know» role when it comes to prices and insurance and totally relies on the Office Manager to approve anything and everything. What this means is that the Dentist will always tell you that you need the most expensive procedure, and if you tell him you cant afford it, well, its what you need and he wont be doing anything that costs less. Whats even worse about this place is that the manager prices everything, but when it comes to insurance, you will get the old «we dont work with the insurance» corporate does that. Ultimately, you will be responsible in taking charge of making sure they get paid from your insurance, so please put aside lots of time for faxing and phone calls so that your credit doesnt get screwed by people who could care less. Unless you want a headache, stay far away from this place.

This place is an ATM machine for dentists. I was offered a cleaning for $ 29 and even called their corporate office to be assured it included a cleaning. I was assured that it did. After taking 18 x-​rays, all they did was look at my teeth and tell me I needed deep cleaning. I said okay, but surely you’ll give me a regular cleaning today. Nope. They said «we don’t give regular cleaning if you need deep cleaning.» Deep cleaning: $ 500. Afternoon wasted: darn you.
They were all very unfriendly except for the receptionist. The dentist was the worst of all. He barely even said «hello» to me. Definitely not a family practice! It’s more like the McDonalds of dentists. There were probably 12 people waiting in the lobby when I was there.

I will agree with the other reviewer that the office manager is a very difficult woman to deal with. She seems to take pleasure in being as contrary as she can with scheduling. Even if you ask for an appointment 6 – 7 months out, giving her several days you are available, she will say there is nothing for those particular days and instead give you various times for one day after or one day before. I wonder why there are numerous availabilities for those other days, but not the very next day or the day before that the Dr. is also working? I’ve then later spoken to a receptionist who then would be able to schedule me on that day, giving me a number of time openings! This has happened more than once. So as I said earlier, the service at the front desk is greatly lacking. Even though we think Dr. Park is great, we will be going elsewhere.

My son has a HMO Insurance and was referred to Dr. Park. My son does not like to go to the dentist but had a tooth ache. Dr. Park was able to see him within the time frame of availability he had from his job. Even though he only works in the Alexandria area he said he would go back to Dr. park again as he was a great doctor.

I went to this place when my other dentist stopped taking my insurance. I think this place was transitioning from another office to Bright Now Dental literally the week I was there, so I will give them a bit of a pass for a few things. But I got there for an apt I just made that morning and when I got there, they asked me to come back in two hours because the doctor had an emergency. I came back, a very nice dentist looked at where I was having pain, referred me to a root canal specialist that was awesome. I came back and he took molds for a crown. When I called to schedule the crown, they said they lost the molds and that dentist was no longer working there. I had to come back in for a very unpleasant experience to redo the work, the dentist got angry at me for gagging during the process. I then had a ridiculous set of billing problems that I had to repeatedly talk to them about. I think it was clear when I checked out that I would never, ever be returning to that office.

DON’T GO TO BRIGHT NOW DENTAL IN ALEXANDRIA. FIND ANOTHER DENTIST. After 13 years I recently left this practice and took my business elsewhere. The office manager, whom I believe joined the practice about 2 – 3 years ago, is a witch on wheels and is the primary reason for my deciding to leave. She knows nothing about running a practice. She does know how to run patients away. Prior to her joining the office, I had no problems with Bright Now Dental. Since she became the office manager, customer service has gone downhill. I had a similar experience to one of the earlier posters: I’d received a message regarding confirming an upcoming appointment. In all the years I’d been a patient, I’d never actually called back to confirm because in the messages the person would say to only call if I needed to reschedule. I don’t think I even completely listened to the entire message because they usually were all the same. So I when arrived for the appointment, the witch informed me it had been canceled since I hadn’t called back to confirm! I insisted that they see me, and they did, after I pointed out that I’d never called back to confirm an appointment in all the years I’d been a patient there. Strike two came early one winter morning when the office manager called me from her home or cell number (540 area code) sounding very groggy or like she’d overslept, to tell me my appointment for later that afternoon was being canceled due to inclement weather, and that she would call me back to reschedule once the office reopened. Not a flake of snow fell in Alexandria that day, and two weeks passed without her calling me to reschedule as she’d stated she would. I finally had to call to reschedule on my own. The final straw came in May when I arrived about 15 minutes late to a cleaning appointment because of being delayed at my job, and was told by the office manager that I couldn’t be seen that day due to my late arrival. I thought this was totally ridiculous, given all the times I’d arrived on time and had waited AT LEAST 15 minutes for the dentist or hygienist to see me. The fact that they couldn’t extend me the same courtesy that I’d extended to them on so many occasions really angered me. So, I let the stupid witch reschedule me for another cleaning appointment for July; an appointment that I had absolutely no intention of keeping, just so I could block out one of their precious slots and then no-​show for it. It worked like a charm! I ignored her confirmation message that came a day or so before the appointment, and gleefully called the office about 15 minutes after the appointment time to let them know I would never be coming back, and that it was due to their office manager’s poor customer service. I’ve since found another dental practice that I’m much happier with, and to whom I plan to give my business for at least the next 13 years.

Do not WASTE your TIME or MONEY here! I would give it zero stars if I could, they have no respect, care or any sort of service for their customer, even a new one that they are supposed to impress. I changed my dentist to this place as it’s much closer to where I live.
Made an appointment for a cleaning /​initial appointment about two months in advance. In the meantime, had a tooth ache stemming from my wisdom tooth so I contacted their emergency line. Never heard anything back. Thank God the pain ended up dying down on its own, I’m glad they are a dental office and not doctors otherwise people would probably bleed to death and pregnant women would never make it to the hospital with that kind of service from them. Still waiting to hear back regarding my «tooth emergency» after about 5 – 6 weeks.
The cleaning appointment was scheduled on a Monday. The Friday before, they leave me a voicemail saying they may need to change the appointment time. What I did wrong, was I thought it’s just a confirmation message and skipped over it. On Monday, I go to the appointment and they tell me it’s not at 9, it’s at 11. I say I am very certain it’s at 9. They say they changed it as the doctor had to perform a procedure for another client, and they are in the right to do so. I went ahead and checked my voicemail again then. They NEVER left me a message with the new time, they didn’t say the appointment time was changed, just that they wanted to change it. What a customer oriented business is that!
Now looking back at it, I think I was actually saved by all this otherwise BRIGHT NOW dentists would probably find a dozen things wrong with my teeth. Thank God for the little misfortune and waste of time and effort, as it saved me from a much larger potential bull**** with this place.

These guys are borderline criminal. My experience is similar to other reviews, except I prefer calling these dentists criminals. The dentist said I needed a crown, in other words, he was going to take out a perfectly good tooth and replace it. I told him to wait until I got a second opinion. A second dentist I visited at another clinic said that I only had a minor cavity in the tooth!
I reported Mazin Alayssami to my insurance company. NEVER GO HERE.

The doctor is nice, but the office staff is incompetent, uncaring, unresponsive. I tried to transfer from one office to another. It was impossible, took 2 months for them to transfer my paperwork and when I arrived for my appointment 2 months later, they hadn’t done anything. Left a message asking for a call back. 3 months has gone by now, no return call.

FIND ANOTHER DENTIST. I went here because our HMO limited us to a handful of dentists in the DC Metro area. I was already wary when my check-​up at this office led to the diagnosis of six or seven cavities, the need for multiple crowns, and a possible root canal. Even with insurance, it would be $ 2200+ out of pocket.
Later, I read reviews here and elsewhere about dubious procedures. I returned for two «deep cleanings», but held off on other work until «open season» allowed us to switch dentists. When I returned to my old dentist (Dr. Rothkoph, a well regarded DC DDS), he took a look at me and saw only ONE cavity. He didn’t see the rest of the items on Dr. Alayssami’s wish list. I was amazed. In short, believe what others are saying: this place is a rip off…
On top of all this, the office was badly run. Staff were rude. Long waits before and after service. This place is untrustworthy at best, potentially fraudulent. Stay away…

THE WORST DENTIST EVER!!! Do not go here!!! The dentists are terrible at this office. They do a very poor job. The reception staff are a bunch of unorganized idiots. If you have an emergency they make you wait way too long for an appointment and then they juggle you around. They don’t give a crap about your patients! They only want your money. I have such a horrible experience at this office that I’m going to file a complaint with the Virginia dental board association.

I scheduled a routine appointment to get my teeth cleaned (first time appointment with them). First off, the place was gross. They literally had rusted open wire face plates in the exam room. I’m surprised a place like this could pass inspection. Second, instead of cleaning my teeth, they took a bunch of X-​Rays I didn’t need, and spent the whole time giving me an exam. After 30 – 45 minutes they gave me this long list of about a dozen expensive (non-​insurance covered) procedures they claim I needed (i.e. crowns with buildup, deep root cleaning, multiple cavity fillings, etc.) After they pitched me their proposal they said they wouldn’t clean my teeth until I had all this stuff done. I went to another dentist under my new PPO plan, and he told me all I needed was one cavity filled. He also cleaned my teeth and scheduled the filling for next time.
Don’t waste your time with these guys and stay away from HMO dental plans if you can.
