I come from a line of family mechanics. My grandfather and father were automotive mechanics with over 40 years experience combined. I have been involved or around the automotive repair business since I was a child. I also served in our United States Marine Corps. My parents always taught me to be an honest, thoughtful and hard working human being. I am a family oriented person with strong family values, and have lived in the Northern Virginia area all my life.

Ian and Mahmoud are top notch, friendly, patient, and just all around great to deal with. Got rear-​ended… just my 4th day after purchasing my new Benz :-(. Went to Auto Century since it was right down the street from the Progressive Claim Center… They were able to check out the scrape, offer a couple of solutions, and work seamlessly and transparently with the insurance claims adjuster. Within 3 days of the adjuster checking the car put at the shop, i had my car back looking perfectly brand new. Great guys!

My first review ever, only because of this place! First and foremost, I like to say that the customer service is superb at this place. Sammy, he is definitely the guy you need to see. He is very knowledgeable and explains everything with clarity and curtsy. Last week was my second time there and just like the first, everything was done on time and without hassle. I’m going back next week to get my brakes and rotors fixed. As long as the customer service and quality of works remains the same, I will be a customer for life. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!

I found this place on Groupon a few years ago and have been coming back ever since. Why?
1. The people. Seriously, Ian and the gang are the cheeriest group of guys. And it’s always the same people, which says a lot about the business.
2. They take care of exactly what I’m asking for. And anything I can’t figure out, they pinpoint it and explain it to me in simple terms. You can relax here because they aren’t trying to take advantage of you or your lack of knowledge.
3. The prices are excellent. I needed major work done earlier in the year and received a $ 1200 estimate from a local repair shop. At Auto Century, it cost half that price without sacrificing the quality of the work.
No matter where I’ve moved around in the area, I have come back over and over. They know my face and they know my car, so it feels like family. These are good guys and this a great repair shop.

Woohoo! As good as it gets!
The best team! they have a adopted the old mantra customer first. The team’s labor rates are lower than most other shops — definitely the dealer!
I called them an said I need my inspections, I am 95 on my way to work can you fit me in. They did.
Another time, I said my car’s air conditioning was out, they fixed the controller instead of the whole thing. done and it’s cool now.
Another time, I asked if they could fix a box truck, they said no their bay door was too low. But. told me they could do inspections outside, and they refered me to a cheap pace that could.
If you need a reasonable mechanic that you can trust. These are your guys.
If not, go pay more at the dealership. but. these guys are just as good.
I have a Mercedes CLK 320, 2007 Ford Freestyle, 2007 Honda Civic, 2006 Ford Ecoline 350, 2005 3500 Chevy Cutaway.

I went in to get an estimate on my driver’s side mirror that someone had hit and knocked off the case. I couldn’t get it back on and figured a new case needed to be put on there. I went in and mahmood (spelling?) came and looked at it and said he could put it back on there no problem! The guys here were so nice! You can tell they run a very honest business. Will definitely be going back here for future car needs!

My wife and I both purchased a living social or groupon (I forget which) for an oil change here 2 or 3 years ago and really enjoyed our experience with Bayram and Ian. They were both very honest and up front about the service we needed and didn’t seem to try to sell us things we did not need like many auto service centers seem to do. I believe Samy has sense taken over for Bayram as he pursues other endeavors but he is just as friendly. I’ve been able to text them when I have a question or to set up an appointment.
This place is great and we will continue to give them our business for oil changes and for other car maintenance as it comes up. It’s nice to know we have an honest place to take our cars for work.

Despite being filled with various other shops in business park Auto Century continues to go way beyond the typical mechanic repair shop. We have taken 6 different cars there for various routine maintenance to custom sport exhaust on a classic VW! Not only can they get the best deal on prices for OEM & aftermarket parts but they have the best hourly rate I have seen in this area. Dealerships will charge you minimum $ 99 diagnostic fees, where at Auto Century they DO NOT charge! Timely turn around and outstanding customer service is why we will not take our fleet of cars anywhere else. They have state inspection and in house alignment even for hard to do cars with lowered sport suspension or coil overs! I cant say enough good things about this place, when other shops either don’t know or want to do a tough job Auto Century has always out performs! All my VW and Acura have been well taken care of since we started going there, I will not go to dealer or other shop in town!

Extremely happy with the service I received from Ian and Auto Century. I’m not from the area and a friend recommended I see him about a car trouble. The Acura dealer told me it would be over $ 3000 plus labor to replace my fuel and brake lines.

Excellent service and work. I got introduced through my Fiancée in December and have gone a couple times over the last 8 months, and both times I came back highly satisfied. The staff is knowledgable and courteous. They tell you exactly what work is needed, how much will it cost, and how long will it take. They don’t try to sell you services or products you don’t need and their estimates are in line with others. I don’t think moving forward I will even be going to other shops to get a rate comparison as they have earned my trust. I would highly recommend Auto Century.

Auto Century is BY far the best auto repair shop I’ve ever visited. These guys are awesome! I had taken my Tacoma to several other shops and the dealership to have some repairs done and to find the cause root of a weird noise from my front end. No other shop took the time to listen or really look at what was going on with my truck. Auto Century took the time and found the problems in minutes, I was given a free and VERY competitive repair estimate. I felt well taken care of and treated with respect while dealing with the Shop personnel. These guys went the extra mile to ensure all my questions were answered about my repairs. At no time did i feel pressured. It was a NO brainer to have the expert staff work on my truck. They made all the repairs and my truck runs GREAT now. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you DO NOT waste your time at other shops. AUTO CENTURY IS THE BEST IN TOWN — HANDS DOWN! Give them a chance — they will make sure you feel the same way I do.
I look forward to returning to Auto Century for any of my vehicle repair and maintenance needs.

Really can’t say enough great things about Auto Century. I’ve been getting my car serviced here for several years. Though the management changed (within the last year) their service doesn’t seem to have changed at all. They always work fast, do thorough inspection, and offer fair prices. One of my favorite things about AC (apart from Ian’s pleasant disposition) is that they offer a range of options when it comes to repairs – they actually help you keep your car safe while staying within your budget. Also, and I’m not sure if they offer this to everyone, but they have in the past picked me up from the Van Dorn Metro (in my car) and drove me to the shop so I could pay and be on my way. As long as I’m in the DMV Auto Century will be the place I take my car for repairs.

Let me start off by saying that I still need to personally go back and thank Ethen for his work. So I needed to replace my windshield and after dealing with my insurance they quoted me $ 380. I instantly thought that was way too much. Checked Unilocal and noticed this place had a lot of great reviews. I called and set an appointment to replace my windshield and they quoted me ~$ 180…I was shocked thinking it was too good to be true. Got the windshield replaced and it has been great ever since. Went back after receiving such great customer service due to my engine light. Found out that my Catalytic converted was bad. Now they could have easily charged me an arm and a leg but they did not. Auto Century informed me that there is a government mandate and that my Dodge Avenger 2008 should be covered since it is under 80,000 miles. I went to the nearby dodge and have them take a look and not only did I run into Ethen there but I ended up saving 1500 dollars which would have cost me to replace the Catalytic converter. After the installment was done Ethen called me just to make sure everything worked you. I appreciate Unilocal because I feel like «most» people are honest and I can honestly say this place is amazing

SERVICE: Oil change + tire rotation + 25 point inspection (via an AmazonLocal deal).
I was really impressed with these guys. The waiting area is a bit dilapidated, but I kinda like it (it’s a lot more home-​like and less pretentious than other businesses). The owner (I presume he was the owner) is a very friendly and cheerful Turkish gentleman. And my mechanic (Ian) was thorough, considerate, and took the time to actually explain and point things out for me! I think this in particular was what was so extraordinary/​awesome. I wish all mechanics allowed (and like these guys, encouraged!) customers to come to the service bay and view their car as it’s being worked on (or at least for parts of it).
For now, I’m still very price sensitive, so I will be using 50% off daily-​deal-​vouchers until they no longer exist (which I think will be the case one day…). But when those are done and the market/​playing field is leveled-​out and I need to hunker down with 1 mechanic, it will likely be these guys.

I’ve been going to AutoCentury since 2008 and I feel bad I haven’t done a Unilocal review yet. AC is the only auto shop I trust in the DC area and even though I’ve moved all the way to Maryland me and my boyfriend still make the drive out there when we need work on either of our cars.
1. They are honest – no scamming or trying to get you to do more than your car or budget requires. For example, one year I needed to get my car’s safety and emission testing done fast so I went to a random shop in Arlington. The guy said I needed $ 1k worth of work for it to pass. I took it to AutoCentury and they didn’t see any of that. When I told them what the other mechanic said they checked again, still did not see it, and were really angry at the other shop for giving their profession a bad name.
2. They are friendly, professional, and fast.
3. Their work is good.
4. They always always work their hardest to get me a deal.
Before I moved to DC from out of state I had one mechanic I trusted because my family had been going to that shop for generations. But with AutoCentury I trust them just as much and I recommend them to everyone in the area.

I’m new to the area and needed an oil change. I found out about them through a deal website and thought I’d try them out. Staff is extremely friendly. Owner treated me like family. While my truck was being worked on, he talked with me about life, marriage, music, his country. I will definitely be going back to these guys. They showed me a few areas that I needed to look at getting work done but in no way pressured me to have it done immediately or even to have it done there.
The best customer service of any business I’ve been to since moving to the DC area 8 months ago.
