History

Established in 1985.

Alexandria Myotherapy was founded by Sandy Levy in 1985, but in 1996 she was joined by co-owner Dina Clevenson and our current incarnation was born. We then began to hire the most talented therapists in the region. Now there are 8 seasoned therapists in addition to Sandy and Dina, who specialize in a total of 20 different massage techniques.

Sandy L.

Business Owner

Sandy Levy founded Alexandria Myotherapy in 1985 after graduating from the Shaw Myotherapy Institute where she was trained in trigger-point myotherapy.

She has augmented her basic education with training in Neuro-Muscular Massage Therapy, foot reflexology, Ortho-Bionomy®, Therapeutic Touch, and Active-Isolated Stretching.

Her strong interest has been in the treatment and management of chronic pain.

Dina Clevenson became co-owner in 1996. With a B.A. in biology and a master’s degree in health education from the University of Virginia, Dina worked as a health educator before receiving her diploma in massage therapy from Potomac Massage Training Institute. After graduation, she worked with a group of osteopathic physicians, and under their tutelage continued her education, particularly in the treatment of pain.

Dina practices Ortho-Bionomy®, trigger-point myotherapy, and neuro-muscular massage therapy.
