Shruti’s Salon & Bridal Service

I totally love Shruti salon. It’s been last 6 – 7 years. I have been going to her. for my threading, wax, haircut, hair color. Facials. My cousin has done her Bridal hair & Bridal Make-​up with her in ther wedding, and Shruti’s salon gave her fantastic Bridal look. She is very friendly and expert in everything. I and my family Love to go to her. Very easy going with setting up apt. All I have to tell her Shruti, this is the time I want to come. She always always try her best.
Absolutely highly recommend her to anyone.

Ms. Shruti saw my friend and I for some henna. It was done freestyle and came out very nice. The price was very reasonable and it took no time at all. I will be back for more of her services in the future!

Called Shruti’s one morning looking for appointment for an afternoon of beauty and relaxing: 1.5 hour massage, facial, eyebrow threading, hair cut and style. To my amazement, she could see me that afternoon! That should have been my first clue.
First off, this place is actually the bottom level of Shruti’s townhone, where she, her husband, and two (?) children reside. Ok, no problem, right? WRONG!
Eyebrow threading was fine. She did a good job.
Next was facial. Felt nice. No after-​effects, but a few interruptions.
Then, the 1.5 hour massage. Perhaps would have felt nice IF I COULD HAVE RELAXED! However, problem 1 was that she used baby oil for the massage! I’ve had my share of massages and NEVER, not even in my own home, have I seen someone use baby oil. Shouldn’t a professional use professional products? Anyway, for all I know there could have been something else in the bottle. That wasn’t the big issue.
After the threading, soon started the interruptions! Phone calls (that she answered!) — I’m guessing at least 6 — at least two of which were afternoon appointments who I heard her ask to come later (8pm?) or the following day. Turns out I guess she liked the thought of my bulk check than keeping appts. with customers for smaller services?!
But let me not forget about her daughters who I guess were cleaning the kitchen upstairs, or making dinner, or hosting a stomp party — I don’t know! I do know the house has poor insulation, the other folks in the house were noisy (clanging pots, heavy footsteps, knocks at the «beauty room» door), Shruti even left the room twice! — all this DURING my 1.5 hour massage. Also, she doesn’t have the «head/​face» portion of the massage table, so when face down I had to turn my head to breathe.
So, time for the hair cut and style, right? WRONG! First, I felt bad for having taken the others’ appointments. Second, no way she could concentrate on my hair AND the kids. I told her it was getting late, so I’d reschedule. She seemed put off! Seriously?! She had 2 other people coming for appts and it was 8 pm!
So, then comes time for payment. It’s my own fault for not getting «hard» prices from her on the phone. I had seen her prices on the Internet. When we originally spoke and I made the appointment, she said she would cut me a deal for getting multiple services.
I dont remember how much my total bill was ($ 175?), but I do recall some of her Internet prices and prices posted on the wall were different (and not to the customer’s advantage). I felt totally taken advantage of when I was told that a 1.5 hour massage was MORE per hour/​min. than a 1 hour massage. Never had that before.
So, bad experience. No relaxation. Can’t say the place was impeccably clean, but it wasn’t bad. A bit of a «dust bunny» issue.
I teetered on 1 or 2 stars, but decided to go on the «high» side.
