History
Established in 1944.
Peoples Flowers opened its first location in Albuquerque in October of 1944 by Max Pollack. In 1980 his son Wayne Pollack joined the organization to lead the family owned business into the second generation.
As a teenager, Wayne Pollack started sweeping floors and opening boxes at Peoples Flowers. At the time, he didn’t think he was following in his father’s footsteps. But he was.
In 1980, a few months after graduating from the University of Arizona, Wayne started working full-time in the flower business his father, Max Pollock, founded in 1944. The elder Pollack died in 1993 after building his company up from one Downtown store to five locations around the city.
The younger Pollack credits the longevity of the family business to maintaining traditional values– putting customer satisfaction first and providing the freshest flowers. However, his focus for the future of Peoples remains as it has been for almost 70 years– on customers in Albuquerque.

People’s Flower Shops is owned by Wayne Pollack. The Pollack family has been delivering flowers in Albuquerque for two generations.
