Pluses.
They have a cool website called
where you can check the status incidents and closures.
Minuses.
NM cannot deal with snow. It doesn’t plow properly, it closes roads left and right and it doesn’t keep its road hotline up to date.
I 40 was closed for 3 days. We were able to drive on it by simply getting on and driving past the cops. They waved us on through? WTF? There was nothing wrong with the road. Then they closed the road behind us and trapped people in 16 degree weather in their cars on new year’s eve. If the road was not so bad why was it closed? Fog? Well, then make a detour. We came down 84 which was perfectly nice. Total incompetance. Ugh.
