I get the cold roast beef and I absolutely love it. They have a great sandwich variety both hot and cold. They use a sauce on the cold sandwiches that is amazing the meats are awesome the ingredients are always fresh and if you ask for fresh jalapenos that’s exactly what you get lol. It’s a great place to grab a sandwich for work. You won’t have to worry about being hungry after your done either, their sandwiches are very large and filling :-) The prices are good and they’ve been in business for over 20 years. I love my sandwiches and this is one of the best places to get a sandwich in Albuquerque hands down. I love Montes subsnmore!

Monte’s subs sits on the corner of Broadway in the San Jose neighborhood. It blends into the neighborhood and the everyday driver could pass without even knowing it is there. The modest exterior does not give justice to the tasty subs cooked inside. I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak and was very impressed. The restaurant is family run and extremely welcoming! I will go again!

BESTSUBSINTOWN. HANDSDOWN. Soft hoagie bread roll like a real Philadelphia Cheese Steak, and the closest to a real Philly Cheese Steak than any other restaurant in town. They do an EXCELLENT Hot Pastrami too! Recommended to me a decade ago by a fellow Philadelphian as the closest thing to a ‘steak. They just do it right, hot subs, cold subs. And the price is way better than most other places around for the amount of/size of good food you get.

This place is the best sub shop! I wish the hours were more of my schedule, but I like the sandwiches so much dh and I plan our Monte’s dinners carefully! To get there before closing my husband has to make sure he can leave the office for lunch or an errand. He then puts it in his personal fridge so nothing disappears. Then we have a great picnic dinner outside. I have not tried the hot sandwiches yet, but I have tried most of the cold ones and all are delicious. Fresh ingredients and bread. He was recently closed due to a car running into the building, probably because they drove down and found it closed(jk). I was having withdrawals and no other sub could«sub» in! If you can make it during the week during the open hours give this guy a try. Real old school, but the best subs.

The best bread wrapped around the freshest ingredients! Seriously best bread I’ve ever had with a sub. I can’t get past the seafood sub to try the others. I want to, but the seafood one(with real seafood, not a pound of imitation crab) is so good I just have to have it!
