We make over 25 flavors of wonderful Beef Jerky right here in New Mexico. Everything from hot to sweet.

History

Established in 2008.

I have always enjoyed making my own beef jerky and usually I would give it all away as gifts during the holidays. Over the years, people have told me that I should sell my jerky. That was always a nice thought but I was way too busy running our family business. Making jerky would have to remain a hobby.

In the fall of 2008, due to the economic down turn, we were forced to close our doors and take some big leaps of faith! The opportunity presented itself for us to take a chance on a new dream. We had nothing to lose so with the help of my wife and the encouragement of family and friends, I decided to put my jerky out there to see what would happen. Believe it or not — people really did like my jerky! Not only that, I was amazed at how many people had become «addicted» to one flavor or another.

We are constantly blown away by the response we have received and we are so excited to continue to make our little operation into something FANTASTIC!

I have been ordering online from Mike’s Jerky for years. The beef jerky is very flavorful and unique. It’s brittle texture moisten quickly and the flavors are all complimentary to the meat.
Green Chile is there signature flavor 8t has a bit of kick but nothing that is outlandish. If you want outlandish the El Diablo and Habernero pull no punches which is refreshing. The Bacon jerky which is beef flavored with Bacon isn’t spicy but it’s just good.
I highly recommend them. Also if you can stop by the store. You can try the different flavors out. Something you may want to do if you don’t like spicy food. I live in San Francisco and it was fun to drop in.

Mikes jerky is the best jerky around and best I’ve ever had. Mike is a very genuine all around great guy. He knows his jerky and how to keep his customers happy and wanting more. I would 100% recommend mikes jerky to anyone and wish he would open a shop in the Denver area.

The stickers inside the store claim to have the «best jerky in burque». I disagree. I’ve been around the world, all over the US and still have not found a better jerky. Priced reasonably and over 12 delicious flavors to choose from. I met Mike before he even had a physical store and would deliver to my wife’s work. Since then, he now has 2 convenient locations in Albuquerque and an exceptional website that delivers to wherever your little heart desires. Buy for yourself, or buy as a gift. It’s a choice you won’t regret and you will soon finding yourself buying more and more every month.

THIN AND CRISPY with LITTLE INGREDIENTS! Totally diet worthy!!!
We ordered 4−1lbs bags of Green Chile for our family and friends to mule to us when they visited and Mike was so generous he threw in 3 extra little bags of Chicago Smoke, Lime Pepper, and Santa Fe!!!

Then, crispy New Mexico style beef jerky. My favorite is bacon but I also love special pineapple and many many of the other flavors. can’t go wrong with beef jerky from here. Reasonably priced but always a better deal to buy the big bag.

Went to the location on Coors and Montaño. Not very friendly and way over priced. My main complaint is that the jerky was moldy just 2 days after I bought it! I didn’t realize it right away and got sick. Never going back there.

I consider myself a jerky connoisseur or since we live in NM a carne seca connoisseur… Either way I heard about this place from a friend and thought I would check it out. When I walked in it was like being in jerky heaven a lot of different flavors I have never heard of and some were good and others were to wild for my liking in the end I went with good ol’ red chile which I thought was pretty good. A little to thin but it wasn’t bad either. Overall pretty average.

I was in a customer’s office and Mike stopped by with jerky and samples. I tried a few and was hooked. So glad they opened the store on Coors and Menaul. I always get the Green Chile, Santa Fe and the Cajun. I love that every time you walk in you are treated like family and that you can sample all of their favors before you buy. I always grab bags to take to friends in Texas and include in goody boxes I send to my Navy Submarine son and Marine Niece. If you can’t make it to New Mexico they ship but definitely stop by their store if you are in town. It’s worth the taste!

We are traveling through to California and stopped by. This is the best beef jerky I’ve had in a while. Mike gives you a generous sample of any flavor you want to try to find out which one you like the best. And there are more flavors than you can imagine. The big bag is the best deal by far. And he will ship to you too, which is great because it’s that good.

They have old school beef jerky. The jerky is thin and crispy. This is how my grandparents made jerky minus all the flavors. My favorite flavors are lime jalapeño, green chile, gotcha Saracha, Santa Fe and Chicago. They have great customer service. They will ship their jerky anywhere in the US. Best beef jerky in the mainland US!

I have been going to Mike’s for about two years and throughout those two years I have tried other brands of beef jerky, but nothing measures up to the quality jerky from Mike’s. They have so many different flavors to choose from and at first it was a bit overwhelming for me because I didn’t know which flavors to choose, but they allowed me to sample any flavor that I wanted. My favorite types are Green Chile, Santa Fe, and Green Chile/​Lemon Pepper, but I’ve tried just about every flavor and they are all delicious. The service is always fantastic! Earlier on in the year they opened up another location on the Westside and it is so convenient for me that I find myself stopping by once a week. Definitely stop by and try it out! You won’t regret it!

We came to visit out of town from San Diego and we knew we had to stop by Mikes in Albuquerque. Mikes beef jerky is the best jerky hands down. He has a variety of flavors to choose from and samples to taste. My favorite flavor is green chili and garlic salt. The customer service here is fantastic! You guys have to stop in and give it a try I promise you won’t regret it.

On a whim on my way to the airport, I stopped in and bought a few bags. Though I haven’t been back to Albuquerque, I’ve purchased jerky online from Mike at least half a dozen more times. It’s quite possibly my favorite to share with friends who claim to like jerky. They have no idea what they’re missing, and I’m here to show them.

LOVE love love this jerky!!! New Mexico style is the best of all kinds, and they do the best one! I’ve tried several different jerky companies from NM, and this one beats the rest! I’m a purist, so I always order the salt, but they have so many other flavors.

I live downtown Chicago, so my jerky selections are pretty much none. I have been tasting jerky since I landed in AQB and so far this is my favorite. I went to the store with my dad and picked up a few bags. The service was great.
I got a bag of the pineapple habanero which is hot but delicious. Green and red chile and the Cajun are also awesome.
I am so glad I can order through the website so I can keep a steady supply of this delicious stuff around.

We came by Mike’s looking for a very specific kind of jerky — Sriracha. Well, unfortunately, we didn’t find it. But, they have sooooo many other flavors, we found a couple of others that we got anyway. We tried a couple of samples as well. The bacon flavor was quite good. Not a bacony as I might want, but it had a good smoked flavor and saltiness. We had to also try the green chile of course. It was very good — you could taste the beef and the green chile, and it had a very nice but not overwhelming heat. They only have beef, fyi.
This is a tiny little place, but man, they have a HUGE selection! If you like jerkly or want to send a gift, give Mike’s a try.
