Jinja Bar & Bistro features a fresh, inventive Asian menu and a bar that will transport you to the tropics with vintage drinks of the 1930’s and 40’s.
Jinja Bar & Bistro is proud to be the best place in New Mexico for delicious, authentic Pacific Rim Cooking. We use the freshest high quality seafood, meats, fruits and vegetables available. All these ingredients are combined to create popular dishes from Japan, Hawaii, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia. Our unbelievably tasty customer favorites include the Pad Thai, Teriyaki Beef Skewers, and Steak Frites. All of our dipping sauces and marinades are homemade. We also offer gluten-free and vegetarian options.
We make everything from scratch with great care and attention to detail — 100% organic, no preservatives, no MSG, no pre-packaged anything. We don’t just offer great food — our drink menu is top notch. Jinja serves a wide range of authentic, vintage cocktails that will transport you to a warm Pacific Rim beach.
History
Established in 2009.
In 2002 Tom and Lesley Allin and Doug Lanham founded Jinja Bar & Bistro in Santa Fe, New Mexico. With a collective 60 years of experience in the food industry, the partners pursued their dream of creating a unique restaurant that combines great food and fun drinks with old-fashioned hospitality. We have grown over the past couple of years to include two new restaurants in Albuquerque.
We’re really proud of what we do here, and we’re especially proud of what we do in the kitchen. Our founders travelled the U.S. and the Pacific Rim with the insanely talented Chef Paul Liu tasting new flavors and experiencing unique and beautiful coastal ingredients. They then spent a long time creating and perfecting the very special, truly inspired dishes on our menus. Chefs Marianne and Fernando approach each new menu idea with the same care, skill and inspiration today.

Our restaurant was the product of a fortuitous meeting between restaurateurs looking for the same space — Doug Lanham and Tom & Leslie Allin. They partnered up with Chef Paul Liu, and the team spent time together harnessing their food craft and unique offering to the restaurant scene. They worked closely with talented designers to create a comfortable, warm bar and dining space to host their unique Asian Bistro. 12 years later, there are three Jinja Bar & Bistros in New Mexico carrying out the inspired vision of our founders!
Today, our top-notch, talented and caring staff is serving up our freshly made inspired dishes and vintage cocktails in Santa Fe and our two Albuquerque locations every day. We’re proud of the work we do here and continue to be inspired by the thoughtfulness and care our founders put into creating this place. We love to work and look forward to sharing it with you every time you come see us!
