Whether the appraisal is needed for insurance coverage or verifying an internet purchase you can feel confident with Mary Reich who is a graduate gemologist and A.S.A. master gemologist appraiser. In some cases you may not need a written appraisal but Mary Reich’s consultation help as you sort through a quantity of inherited jewelry or gemstones and identify which pieces are genuine and which are costume or imitation. The office is located in Albuquerque, but she is also available to travel to Santa Fe and the Great New Mexico region.

History

Established in 2007.

Gemologically Speaking is an independent gemologist and appraiser of fine jewelry in Albuquerque, Santa Fe and greater New Mexico since 2007. We maintain a complete Gemological Laboratory and Library at our comfortable Albuquerque office as well as a Portable Gemological Laboratory, so the choice of location is yours. We can meet with you at our office or at your home, office or bank vault.

Mary has been active in the jewelry industry since 1982, including work as a showroom manager for a gemstone dealer and a manager and buyer for fine family-​owned retail jewelry stores. Mary has over twenty-​five years of experience as a gemologist and appraiser of fine jewelry in Albuquerque area (since 1987) and opened Gemologically Speaking in 2007 as an independent appraiser.

Mary earned her designation as an Accredited Senior Appraiser (American Society of Appraisers) in 1996 and her certification as Master Gemologist Appraiser in 2003. She is a Certified Senior Member (National Association of Jewelry Appraisers) and maintains a complete Gemological Laboratory, certified by the Accredited Gemologists Association.
