Totally blown away by their lack of customer service. Had a $ 13 tube replaced, work was shoddy at best. Took it back after one ride and the skinny one tried to sell me $ 5.00 worth of liquid tire sealant when a whole bottle of the stuff is $ 13.00. These guys have no clue on how to run a business or retain customers. There are many good shops in town, seek them out and STAY AWAY, unless you get a flat while having a beer next door.

I went here today to get a new bottom bracket for my ahem, single speed road bike and was in and out within a half hour. Mark, the new owner is a nice guy and if you’re bored you can pet Clarence the giant puppy if he’s around.
Last time I went there he was closing and stayed late to sell me a tail light. And before that they gave me a really good deal on a rear wheel for my mountain bike.
This place has changed hands a few times but it still maintains that small, not snooty, neighborhood vibe and for that I salute you Mark.

This guy is super sloppy with his repairs. He twice botched fixing the gear shift on my bike. His carelessness will eventually hurt someone. He is also very prickly if you suggest he made a mistake. He could care less about bad service. I would recommend any other bike shop in Nob Hill. Also, he is over priced and slow.

They sold me a bike claiming it was «ready to go» but in actuallity was unsafe to ride. After a day of riding the front dérailleur spun around and locked up the drivetrain because the hanger bolt was loose. I came to dicover that every bolt on the bike was loose.
If they assemble their bikes that poorly and do absolutely nothing to them during the 6 hours they had between me buying the bike and picking it up then how can anyone trust the work they perform?
Avoid this place like the plague if you value your safety.

Jacob has amazing customer service mastered, and the whole crew, including the great Dane puppy, are a pleasure to spend time with. After flying in from the East Coast and being ignorant of the conditions here in Albuquerque/​Central New Mexico we were delighted to have the tender loving care and expertise of Fixed & Free conveniently located in Nob Hill. Our Bromptons were carefully lubed while we enjoyed a conversation about folding bikes, David Byrne and the beauty of travel on two wheels.

Really personable staff, but a serious lack of parts.

Sam at fixed and free helped me get a couple old beach cruisers up and running again. They needed new tubes and tires and a little TLC. They did great work in short order and at a reasonable price. Drinking a pint at tractor brewery next door after picking up your operational bike is a good feeling! I recommend the guys at fixed and free.

These fellas know a thing or two about bikes. Vintage bikes, to the most modern 29er, theses lads can repair it all. They do great work, plus they talk with you, (not at you) to get what you need for your bike. Plus it’s a really nice shop.

Ahhhhh yeah. These guys helped get my bike ready for a bike tour after it had gotten roughed up on the plane ride. They offered some expert advice on how to ride in NM and were real chill. If you’re looking for help with your bike or looking to buy a quality frame or parts or tools, this is the place to go.

The only bike shop to visit in Albuquerque.

My favorite bike shop in ABQ. I have gotten loads of good advice, instruction, vintage parts, and new parts from these guys. Sam and Jacob are the regulars and are very approachable no matter what your needs or questions are. This is the kind of bike shop where you go to learn more about your bike or to customize what you already have. It’s not a ‘walmart’ shop – they have some (sweet) bikes for sale both new and used consignment. Definitely worth a stop in.

Never got a chance to write about these guys before I left Albuquerque but now that I am gone and using Unilocal,gotta say a few things. These guys took me from a recreation rider to an enthusiast. Being in the workplace several years and having just got a masters and fancy new job, I figured it was about time to treat myself to a new bike. Heck last time was in 1994 I got my blue mongoose. Yes it was a real mongoose and it was damn good.
Anyway on to the review. Having researched the type and brand of bike I wanted, these guys helped me order the correct sized bike for me and we pieced together a sweet affordable (well…) single speed commuter with my interests in mind. The part selection was excellent, these guys were totally knowledgeable and worked with me, and obviously they help maintain the bike at no extra cost. Oh and gotta give a shout out to the best mechanic in town, and a brilliant actor (not really), Luke Wilson. :)

These guys are not only efficient, knowledgeable, and have all the parts and tools on hand– they’re really nice. Especially to girls who don’t know what they’re talking about.
They helped build a beautiful bike for me at an excellent price ad answered all of my stupid questions. I super love them.

I can’t say enough good things about these fellas. Sam owns the shop and Luke works there full time. They are extremely welcoming, extremely intelligent, and just all around awesome guys. I have literally waited to buy parts for my bike just to do business with them. The prices are stellar, the atmosphere, is amazing, and the all around experience just cannot be beat. Whether they know you or not, they will invite you in you in to hang out, have a beer, and shoot the shit, whether you are buying or not. I never knew them before going in to buy a bike, but I am now fortunate enough to call these guys friends. If you are getting bike work done, need a complete, need parts, or just want to see what a top shelf custom built bike looks like, Fixed and Free is the only place to go. Shame on you if you go elsewhere.

Built up a nice, basic single speed from an old «ten speed» from their collection. Got it done when they said they would, great price and nice work. Good folks.
