Econo Lodge Downtown

Older property with clean rooms and great staff. Extra star is for great location and very good price. Basic breakfast and wifi included. 2 stays here and I’ll stay again any time I’m in town.

Nice place to stay its clean and service is good. Also very close to old town and downtown!

Was pleasantly surprised by this Econo Lodge. The man who mostly ran the front desk was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay whether it was checking in, asking for directions, or stopping by when our TV was having issues. Housekeeping did a great job all week. All in all, this is still an Econo Lodge so the rooms aren’t going to be special, but my room was neat and clean and the workers here made the stay super convenient.

Good bed but not enough pillows. I think we had new carpet? Free wifi was a plus! The shower head was really low – even for me and I’m under 5’3″!

no complaints and everything was in good order. i dont typically give motels of this class a rating over 3, but they were all very helpful, accommodating, and friendly. room was clean, close to old town, great retro architecture, cinemas a 10 min walk, lots of great restaurants, close to airport, and away from the bustling city center. pool looks good, cute lobby, and surrounded by the amazing state of NM.

This was a ⁵⁰⁄₅₀ experience for me. I arrived late after driving 10hrs from Tulsa, OK and was met by Bobby at the front desk. He was very nice and we chatted as he got everything together so I could get in shower and sleep. Unfortunately it seems like I was given a smoking room by mistake. Bobby shared my frustration and disgust (we both don’t smoke and I am allergic to smoke) and promptly told me he was going to change the bedding for me and get me some air freshener, since he could not give me a new room since all local hotels were booked due to the hot air balloon festival. Bobby made my one night stay bearable. Seriously give this guy a raise, he went above and beyond especially for someone rolling in after 10 pm.
That’s the end of the good part. The room of course stunk (but that was to be expected). The carpet was pretty stained, as was the mattress. Thanks to Bobby, I got clean bedding tho there was hair on everything (but it was the cleaning lady’s so I gave that a pass). The shower wasn’t put together very well either.
But hey, it could have been worse! The room was rather clean despite the offending smell (now all of my things smell of cigarettes…) and the staff was accommodating
Word of advice Econolodge, it’s not 1963 anymore standard rooms should be NON-​SMOKING.

I checked in late at 2 AM, no one was at the front desk and the doors were locked. I rang the doorbell several times but no one responded. I had to stand outside in the cold to call the 800 number. That was the least of our problems. Our room was smelly and the carpet was nasty. There were curly hair under our sheets. We were so tired that we decided to sleep in jeans rather than touching the sheets with our bare skin. The bathroom plumbing was probably done by unqualified housestaff. The plumbing fixture rattled and there was no caulk between the metal parts and the tiles. The next morning we decided to leave rather extending our stay for another night. The staff were nice but pressured guests to provide an email and insisted on receiving a good review. Overall this was a bad experience at a one-​star motel. This place does not deserve two stars.

I enjoyed my stay here. Getting here from the airport was fast and just 5 miles! In and off the I-​25 was quick after picking up my rental car. I was in town for the 2011 Duke City Marathon.
The room was very adequate and the beds were very comfortable. Although the pillows were kinda hard on, I fell asleep easier than I thought. The shower could use some fixing, but everything else worked as it should be. I don’t know about the WiFi. I’m sure it was free, but there’s a password protection on it, when I tried to connect to it. Oh well, I didn’t need to use it anyway.
The staff was helpful in me getting ice from the ice machine, when I needed a trash can full of ice. (marathon related). Don’t approve about their continental breakfast options though, since more budget chains have better options than cereal and pastries. Ugh. Oh well. It’s free anyway. Overall, the room was clean and the property was centrally located to where I wanted to be.

Karen C and I are on our way to Austin from LA. I’m glad Karen C made reservations here. Showed up about 3 hours later than we informed them we would, but they were okay with it. This room is CLEAN. The pressure and temperature in the shower is PERFECT. These towels are so SOFT. They have FREE WIFI! Karen C. and I are currently getting some really decent speeds on torrents for the new Madmen and True Blood episodes.
Only complaint is that THERE IS NOTHING TO EAT AROUND HERE PAST MIDNIGHT.

We had a good stay here on our move to Tucson. They let us park our 26′ penske truck in their small parking lot. It’s family operated and they’re pretty nice people. I got my bike out of the back of the moving truck and rode downtown (5 min.) and bought a couple growlers of beer from Chama River Brewing Company and some vegetarian Thai dishes from Pei Wei Asian Diner. Albuquerque shuts down early though, so if you’re a vegetarian make sure you get a bite to eat before 9pm or you won’t have much to choose from.
