Great pizza, subs, and salad! This place piles on the toppings with whatever you order. I’ve never left hungry. The prices are decent and the drive thru carry out window is ingenious! The staff is always friendly and the area is clean. Only thing I can complain about is that they don’t deliver. I’d come back though.

Dion’s pizza is a staple in Albuquerque. Even better than their pizza though, are their sub sandwiches. I am obsessed with the green chili cheddar sandwich, a hidden gem that took me awhile to try. The bread comes crispy with a little mayo, the veggies come fresh, and the sandwich is topped with a load of green chili and gooey melted cheddar cheese. Dip the sub in some Greek dressing and YUM. Recently tried the«Koolsla» which was surprisingly good. I usually do not like sweet things in coleslaw BUT their cranberries and almonds add an interesting twist to this side dish. Dion’s is a family favorite that we will never get sick of!

Can we plenty please convince this place to move out to California??? This pizza changes lives. And then, the ranch?(Which may I inform you, can be bought by the BOTTLE) is a match made in heaven. This place is definitely one of the first stops we make whenever visiting from California. Their menu offers a variety of items from sandwiches, salads, and of course, pizza. There is not one thing I have tried from Dion’s that I didn’t like. (P.s. If you like subs, you’ve got to get the Turkey & Swiss with the Greek dressing! YUM!) Our most recent encounter is the pepperoni pizza with fresh hatch green chile. I kid you NOT when I say that I would literally smother myself in this every single day of my life. The authentic Fresh Hatch, New Mexico grown green chile is a staple at so many establishments, and one bite of this pizza and you’ll know why. You need to get this pizza. No exceptions. You’ll thank me later!

I have always appreciated the food quality that Dions, as a company, provides. Their food prices are also very affordable which is one of the main reasons that I am a regular at their locations. This location lives up to the Dions standards and is an excellent convenient location for me on the westside. The place can get really packed most nights of the week during dinner time so be warned. They do an excellent job of getting the food out fast and accurately. Overall, if you’re a Dions regular or if this is your first time trying it this is definitely a good location to be at.

I could wax poetic about Dion’s for days, but since Unilocal only gives me a limited amount of space, I’ll have to contain myself to the required number of characters. As a Burqueno from the tender age of 10, I’d had Dion’s on plenty of occasions, but I didn’t really form the love and appreciation for it that I have now until I was a teenager. A local pizza, sandwich, and salad chain, they have locations all over the city, and a few in other parts of NM too. They even have locations in Lubbock, TX, and Colorado Springs, CO. But truly, those other places just don’t do it for me like their Cottonwood Mall location does. This is my home(if you will), and home is where the heart is. The best way into my heart? A Dion’s Special, hold the onions, extra olives. Their other pizzas are good too, but we all have our favorites, and the Special is mine. Of course, as much as I love me some Dion’s pizza, I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention their delectable 6″ &10″ sandwiches. Made on bread that’s delivered fresh every morning, and with unmatched meats, cheeses, and condiments, I think it’s fair to say their sandwiches almost rival their pizzas in their deliciousness(almost). The official menu says they offer turkey, ham, pastrami, meatball, Italian, and veggie subs, and each sandwich is paired either with provolone, Swiss, or cheddar cheese. Though if their preset selections just aren’t doing it for you, feel free to mix it up. Dion’s has always been flexible, and they’re great about special requests. When I’m in the mood for a sandwich I usually like to order a 6″ ham and turkey(½ & ½) with provolone. When I was there with my daughter a few weeks ago, I had pizza, and she had a pastrami and provolone. I’d never had their pastrami sub before, so she was nice enough to share some of hers with me, and it was so good, I was almost ready to forgo my pizza in favor of stealing her sandwich. Fortunately I was able to restrain myself, but I’ve been craving one ever since. If you’re in the mood for something a little lighter, Dion’s also has a first rate salad selection, with Greek, chef, ranch, and tossed salads being among the choices. The salads come in ½, full, and family sizes, and pairing a ½ salad with a slice or two of pizza is quite the popular lunch time selection. All of their salads are made with iceberg lettuce, and mix(diced cucumbers, bell peppers, and onions), and just like their pizzas and sandwiches, all ingredients are made fresh every morning. When looking for a casual, comfortable, delicious, family friendly pizza, salad and sandwich joint, look no further than your local Dion’s. I love it, and think you will too.

Welcome to Albuquerque! You must be new here if you don’t already know that Dions is an excellent favorite local pizza joint. Good food. Standard price. Pizza, salad, sandwiches– all good! Nothing really special, just good pizza– fountain cherry coke– the best ranch dressing– good memories– dang-! I guess it is special! Not your thin crust gourmet kinda special tho. I recommend a good ol’ pepperoni pizza– a tossed salad with ranch and cheesy toast. It’s what they do best. Oh, and if you don’t already know– green chile on pizza is delish. Try it! Dions is a usual stop when I’m back home here in The Duke City. Be sure to give your fake name when you order because they have the coolest kid working call it over the mic usually in a fun voice. Always fun to see«Batman» or «Fabio» walk up to get their order while his lady at the table buries her face in her hands. Lol

Ok, my wife and I have been wrong before, and we’ll be wrong again. We were definitely wrong on Dion’s. When we first came to Albuquerque a few years ago, we saw this pizza chain around town and pretty much ignored it thinking it to be another Cici’s. We did stop by this location about a year ago, but took a look at the menu and turned around and left. The only reason we decided to give it a try this time was based on Unilocal!reviews. When we got there(7PM on a Saturday night) the parking lot was completely full and the drive through had a line out into the street. We had to park across the street. We expected the place to be packed, but it turned out to still have several booths available(first star). We expected there to be a long line at the order counter, but there was only one couple ahead of us and they were taken care of in short order(second star), even before we were ready to order. We browsed the menu, letting the people behind us go ahead of us since we still weren’t ready, and finally decided on the 14″ Duke City Pizza. This is a thin crust pizza with no sauce, cheddar cheese, thin sliced(very salty) turkey, green chili’s and a dash of parmesan cheese. Twenty minutes later, as promised(third star), our name was called and we picked up the pizza at the counter. We thought it would be gross, but even though it didn’t taste like a pizza, it was VERY good. We both enjoyed it tremendously. We ate almost all of it, but I just couldn’t stuff in the last half of the last piece. We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful flavor of the pizza(fourth star) and look forward to trying some of Dion’s other gourmet pizza’s.

I really don’t think this place needs ANY introduction… or even review, cuz most Albuquerquians dig this place for pizza like samurais dig swords, yea silly analogy… nonetheless! If you haven’t tried their subs OMG wow… very delicious esp with the Greek dressing & if i may say, support your local Hatch farmers & add the Green for just .50 more? You wont be disappointed I promise! Why I decided to write a review on this locale, besides Its convenient location from my place of work, is because the staff is so friendly & that is, well, not so common on this side of town. just being honest! Also of palate-pleasing interest is their cookies :) I suggest the white chocolate chip macadamia nut! Bön Appetit!

Wow… great service. Ordered my pizza online and arrived at the time it was supposed to be ready. But they were running behind. The pick up window worker apologized and offer us free drinks and dessert while we wait. Great service recovery Dions! That’s rare these days and nice to see.

Everyone keeps saying this is the place for good pizza and subs. So while I was in town for the night we stopped in and to check it out. The pizza was pretty good I ordered pepperoni, green chile, onion, black olives. We got the cheese garlic bread and greek salad. I have to add we got the family salad and it was HUGE!!! So anyway over all it was pretty good. Not the best I have ever had but was good. I would go again if in town and maybe try the subs.

How could anyone dog on Dion’s? The most fervent supporter of high school employment in the state(thus in turn supporters of sneaking out of the house, french kissing with braces, keggers on the mesa, and way too much eyeshadow), Dion’s serves up soft, American pies that’ll put that muffin top on your waist line. High quality and incredibly consistent, their sandwiches and salads also score big points with me; I love the turkey & swiss with green chile, and the ranch salad with blue cheese. Oh, and the chicken ceasar. And the Italian sub. And the greek salad. My top tip for this place: dip your pizza crust in the Greek dressing, and drown your sandwich in it. Dip your chips in it. Do not wipe your greasy fingers on your executive pant legs, this is what napkins are for. Feel free to skip class today.

I had a veggie sub at Dion’s and it was just as fresh as promised. I chose mayo and no mustard, which made the sandwich a little bland. Should have gotten the Greek dressing. The bread was nice and fresh too. Dion’s was fully staffed; there were lots of young people behind the counter working hard and appearing as if they liked working there. I asked for the sandwich minus olives and the green chili(new to ABQ; haven’t tried yet) and the young lady asked if I wanted to substitute something else for these items. I thought that was a nice touch. I ordered a bottle of this famous ranch dressing and, when I got home, realized it didn’t come with my to-go order, so I can’t comment on that yet. But I’m going back to get it, darn right I am, because homemade ranch dressing is almost as good as Russell Stover’s chocolate.

My boyfriend thinks I’m crazy for loving Dions’ pizza so much because I lived in New York City for three years, home of some of the«best» pizza in the world, right? Alas, I never found any NYC slice that could compare to my beloved Dion’s pizza. To be fair, the city that never sleeps is famous for their thin sliced pizza and I love Dion’s doughy crust. Add a little bit of a topping – green chili in New Mexico is always a must – and you’re ready to go. I also usually get a half tossed salad with Ranch dressing, which simultaneously serves as dipping sauce for my pizza! The subs are delicious too, especially the Turkey. Make sure to add the Greek dressing!

Not the best but it’s up there. Some good pizza the way you want and most importantly it’s cheap. Love getting my Dion’s on when I’m in town. Salad was not very good, kind of seemed thrown together, but I guess I’m at a pizza place right? Leave that lettuce for the animals we eat amiright?

This is the best of the local New York style pizza places. Every Albuquerquian knows that Dion’s is the best. It started as a Greek restaurant named Dionysos, but while waiting for supplies they started making pizza with the previous owner’s equipment — it took off so they had to keep making it. The pizza is perfect, quite honestly. The price is very good, too, as pizza goes. It knocks the socks off of the national chains in both price and quality. Their other items are good. The salads are very fresh and everyone loves their dressings — ranch is popular for dipping the pizza, but I don’t like ranch. The cheese toast is super cheap but filling, too. The subs are good but I love the pizza so much I never order them. If you are visiting and love New York style pizza, you must come here. If you like pizza and live here, it’s a great place. Nice atmosphere, clean, generally good service. No complaints from me, except I wish they delivered. Be warned it gets crowded.
