Peterson Properties is desperately trying to sell these condos, but I recommend not even renting them. They’re expensive for Albuquerque, in a sketchy area and don’t include parking, but that doesn’t even get into the problems with the apartments themselves. Living here was not a pleasant experience. Let me list the ways:
1) Mice. I was the first occupant of my apartment, ever. I had not been food shopping at all. I still had mice.
2) Uneven floors. Seriously uneven. Hot pans sliding out of the oven uneven. It’s not really something that you can just live with.
3) Shoddy Workmanship. The fan was installed wrong. The dryer was missing a piece. The dishwasher leaked. The fire sprinkler was not only leaking when I moved in, ruining the floor, but also apparently wasn’t even functional.
4) The leaks. The roof leaks. The HVAC system leaks. The windows leak. You will find leaks over your furniture months after you move in, providing the most alarming wake up call you’ve ever had.
5) The noise. Not only do you get the great sounds of the clubbers and their fights, but any noises your neighbors might produce through their paper-​thin walls.
I could probably go on about inattentive management, inconvenient location, and inability to get packages, but you get the point by now. It’s a beautiful apartment building with new appliances, granite counters, and exposed bricks, but all the pretty hides some pretty unhappy surprises.
