Compton Painting & Paperhanging was established in 1960 as Herb Compton Painting & Paperhanging, NM license #5551.

I started working for my father in high school. After graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1971, with a degree in Industrial Management, I became a qualifying partner in the business. In 1980, my father was diagnosed with cancer, and I took over the business. Then in 1984, the business name changed to Compton Painting & Paperhanging, becoming a sole proprietorship, under the current license #22 220.

I started working for my father in high school. After graduating from the University of New Mexico in 1971, with a degree in Industrial Management, I became a qualifying partner in the business. In 1980, my father was diagnosed with cancer, and I took over the business. Then in 1984, the business name changed to Compton Painting & Paperhanging. I am a member of the National Painting & Decorating Contractors of America and the Hispano Chamber of Commerce.

Over the years Compton Painting has focused on wallcovering installation and painting of commercials buildings, hotels, medical institutions, and custom homes. We have expanded our services to also provide installation of specialized wallcovering, such as marker boards, cork, wood, and murals. We also are one of the few companies in Albuquerque certified to apply Triarch Coatings, a specialized texture and paint system. I look forward to working with on your next project.
