Camp Bow Wow Albuquerque

I’ve been taking my dog here for several months, for both daycare and boarding. She always comes home happy and tired — just like a pup should! The place is clean and there are webcams if you want to check up on your furball during the day. The staff is very friendly and seem to enjoy their jobs. Pick-​up and drop-​off is generally pretty quick, although the lobby can get busy at «peak» times (5pm or so for daycare). For boarding they also offer bath additions for a reasonable price. Pick up a clean pup after a vacation?! Yes please!

My dog spent 4 nights there. At the beginning I was very happy with the services they provided. The interview seemed reassuring. The trainer was very nice. However now a few days after the stay there my dog is sick. She now has kennel cough won’t eat her regular food. She sleeps all day doesn’t move, and lost all her energy.
I feel horrible for leaving my dog there and coming to a none energetic dog. Sick and not moving. I get that these things can happen with all the dogs around but my dog has all vaccines never any issues till now.
Here is what bothers me the most they charged me for a furminator however she is still shedding like crazy. They gave her a blueberry facial which she’s gotten before I know the smell last for days. However with them it last tops 3 hours. They said nails were clipped but they are clearly long and unclipped yet I was charged for all this. I know I should’ve stick to my regular grooming location but thought it would be a good idea since she would probably be stinky.
You end up paying over $ 375 for services that are questionable. Sure they have cameras but they aren’t clearly you never know what happens when they put them in sleeping couriers.
Staff is a hit or miss some are good some are in hurry to get you out of there.
I would not recommend them at all. Very unhappy with everything.

Great place to take our dog and know that he is in good hands while he gets to romp around with other dogs. The staff are always friendly, the facility is always clean, and the prices are reasonable. So far, our dog has been a half-​day camper, but we would not hesitate to leave him longer. We love that they «interview» the dogs to make sure of temperament before they are allowed in. There are also staff in each play yard to keep an eye on things, adding to the peace of mind. The web cams are also nice to check in and see how he’s doing and if any of his usual friends are there.

I love that the dogs aren’t kept in a cage all day; that they get to play and socialize with the other ‘campers’. I also like that there is always a monitor in the pens with them. Our dog loves going to camp. She always comes home a happy and tired pup!

You have to make decisions on these Unilocal reviews whether a 4.5 star review is a 5 or a 4. I push it to 5 for several reasons.
I love the first visit process where you are actually interviewed, and to me this increases the sense of safety and security of your dogs when you leave them.
The place is clean. Not an easy task when you have up to a hundred dogs there at a time at times. Yes, your dog may come back filthy after a full day of indoor and outdoor play, but if you choose you can have them bathe your dog after and they offer this service. Did you expect after a full day of doggie play your hound would be pristine?
One time we let our dogs go three days in a row, and Jax’s paws were a bit torn up. This said, this was on us for taking them there three days in a row, and they do explain up front that in fact it is our decision to take them there, and they do have you sign a waiver about issues such as this that can be really a function of having your dog play with other dogs for hours at a time, sometimes indoors and out. They do have suites available if you want to separate your dog or it your dog is old, but to me, that defeats the purpose of them being simply dog-​tired at the end of the day.
Parking is a bit of a bear, given that there are other businesses there, and quite commonly it can be a challenge to get a good space, but this is really about the main negative. It is in a bit of an industrial area, but I have never felt unsafe because of this.
One of the best features is the ability to watch your dogs in real time on a time lapse style camera (so as not to chew up your data), and this is reassuring particularly if you are worried about your dogs as we are.
The staff is friendly, they get to know your dogs, and I have been very pleased with the service. We have yet to board our dogs overnight because we are just that way, but when we do, it will be here.

We took our 1 year old Daniff to Camp Bow Wow while visiting Albuquerque and we were so happy with the service, facilities, staff and how worn out our pup was after a full day! To anyone that has a high energy dog, I highly recommended Camp Bow Wow.
Other awesome perks are the report cards that you get after each day! It is nice to hear how your pup was that day!

OK, all bullshit aside this is without a doubt the epitome of all dog daycare. I have taken our four dogs there since about six month after they have opened. They go once or twice weekly for a half day daycare. Have spent numerous hours in boarding. Had their bordetella vaccine as needed, baths and nail clippings as needed as well. Bryan and Christine are the bomb when it comes to taking care of your fur babies. They drug test their counselors (what other place does this?) and are on top of their game. If your little one is a little lethargic or out of the ordinary they will let you know up front. Also, rabies or distemper are monitored and you will know when they are due. Medications and special feeding requirements are no problem here. They are on top of their game. Do your furry babies a solid and book them here! Sleep sound and be assured that they are being loved!

We have been taking our dog, Red, to Camp Bow Wow since 2012. Red is a rescue dog which is labeled as a Pit Mix. Not many daycare places accept Pit Mixes and we were very happy to find such a great place to take our dog.
The staff is always very helpful and they are excited when «Mr. Red» returns for a day of fun filled play. Red usually goes for daycare services but does stay occasionally when we are traveling. I really like that we get a «De-​tails» report when we pick Red up from boarding. This report lets us know how he did during his stay. They give a brief summary of who he played with and what fun he had. His favorite thing is «King of the Bridge» and playing chase! I also like that I can view the the doggie cameras to see what Red and his friends are up to.
Camp Bow Wow also provides grooming services. This is a huge time saver for me. I don’t have to make a separate appointment with a groomer to have a bath, nails clipped and teeth cleaned. I recommend Camp Bow Wow to all of my friends and family who need daycare or boarding.

My dog loves Camp Bow Wow for day care and boarding. It is evident the staff loves dogs and gets to know every one of them. I appreciate the professionalism, the hours they are open and the fact they don’t nickel and dime you for everything. It is great to have a «pack» I trust for my dog

Finding Camp Bow Wow was a great relief. Finally, a high quality kennel located in the middle of the city. The prices may seem high but are so worth it. At Bow Wow my pups are placed with similarly-​sized dogs and are active all day rather than caged, I can watch them on video, there is no extra fee for administering medication, and I can pick my dogs up any day of the week rather than waiting until Monday. The staff are well trained, love dogs, and are extremely attentive. One time when I boarded my dog while on an out of town trip they noticed he had blood in his urine and contacted me. Thanks to their keen eye, my vet discovered that my dog had bladder stones. Finally, the best recommendation, my dogs are always happy and exhausted after a visit.

I have been taking my pup to Camp Bow Wow for about a year now and I’m very pleased. Most staff members greet my dog by name when we arrive, and they are quick to attend to us.
Diggy Smalls has been a half-​day camper, full-​day camper and overnight camper several times — I feel comfortable leaving her there for each. They have cameras on the website where you can check in on your dog, for no cost. I use the iPhone app to access the cameras, the download cost is $ 1.99.
Camp Bow Wow offers several grooming services which I love. Diggy routinely rolls in poop (sigh. come on, girl.), so I often ask for her to have a bath before I pick her up. They will coordinate bath time with pick up time so she doesn’t go back in gen pop and go for a second poop roll. ;) Much appreciated.
The price is slightly higher than other options in the area, but let’s be honest — you get what you pay for. I am happy to pay a little more for peace of mind.
If a happy, tired dog is your goal, Camp Bow Wow is your place.

Camp bow wow is the best doggie day care and boarding facility I have found and I have been to several others both here in Albuquerque and in the 3 other states I have lived.
The staff are truly outstanding and have a sincere love and concern for each dog. My Golden Retriever absolutely can’t wait to get there each time and it provides the activity and socialization he needs while I am at work. He goes to Bow Wow 3 of the 5 days a week I work. What a difference compared to being home alone all week, he is happier and healthier which in turn makes him a better pet and companion for me. I am so thankful I found such a great doggie day care! If you are looking for a top notch place to take your dog, this is the place! You can leave them with the confidence they are well taken care of but on top of that you can actually watch your pet on Web cam while they are there. You can watch them on your computer or phone anytime. Just another reason Camp Bow Wow is the best place for your special friend.

Really enjoyable experience. I have used Camp Bow Wow many times before for daycare but this was our first overnight boarding stay. The dogs came back happy and seemed to have a good time staying overnight. It was great that they have cameras to watch them during the day. The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. Also I don’t think they even cared that they had to have a bath. :)

I love this place. and the owners are so nice too. I used to take my dog here while living in Albuquerque but continue to take here here when i travel back home. They have always been so good with my tiny Maltese. They treat all the animals as if they are their own. I love how they not only get to run around all day but they get human interaction off and on throughout the day. Words cannot express how great this place is. Prices are great too!

If you drive a Subaru and are gluten free and against vaccines then this is the place for you and your dog.
I was leaving town for two days and just wanted an overnight kennel with a couple of play days to go to Carlsbad Caverns and back. This place is ridiculous. I brought my dog and his vaccine records with me to get all ready for the trip. They wanted a meet and greet. Fine. I filled out their paperwork and let him meet their staff. Then they wanted to put him in the play area to see how he reacts with other dogs. I get that. That don’t want aggressive or violent dogs. Let’s put him in for 10 or 15 minutes to make sure he doesn’t kill a chihuahua. What killed me was that they then wanted me to leave him for 3 – 4 hours to see how he did. Really? I have all day to screw around with kennels? Why would anyone dedicate their entire afternoon for an overnight boarding. I found another place across town that was fast, to the point, and without a million requirements. And much cheaper. At $ 50 a night plus day fees this is a little much for me. I felt obligated to go get a $ 6 coffee with coconut at Starbucks down the street.

Great place for boarding or daycare! When another survey asked me what I liked about Camp Bow Wow, I listed the friendly staff, webcams, reasonable prices, and the fact that my dog loves going there. I love it for all those reasons plus that she comes home TIRED. No more nagging to go to the dog park after several hours at Bow Wow. It’s also conveniently located (near WalMart on Carlisle in Albuquerque) so it’s easy to drop her off and go run all my errands or do a shift at work.

I was very pleased with camp bow wow! Very clean, professional, and you can tell the employees really enjoy being with dogs. We did a trial of doggy day camp — which they don’t charge you for, and it went really well. They ask you to stay for about ten minutes just to make sure there are no problems which I think is a great idea. They have web cams so I was able to watch them play and see that they were having fun!
They also noticed that one of my dogs would need a vaccination in a few months and were able to give it to her that day for only 17 $!
They are a little expensive, but a lot of things that most places charge you extra for are included such as snacks and play time. I think it’s well worth the money to know that your dogs are in a clean, safe, fun environment!
