Being from out of town and just here on work I dreaded having to go to some unknown dentist… First the calm and helpful staff and atmosphere was great, especially since I was in so much pain when I got there! He explained everything that would be done, answered every question, and as the process went it was relatively painless and quick. I had always feared the dreaded«root canal» but in the care of this Dr. I felt great. Highly recommended!

I went to see Dr. Papworth after my dentist told me I needed to have an evaluation of a tooth that had a previous root canal. I had no pain whatsoever. When Dr. Papworth did the initial exam he said the tooth was infected and did need a root canal, I paid in full that day and scheduled an appt. for the root canal. When I went in for the root canal he said the tooth was too infected, so he put medicine in it and prescribed antibiotics. He said he would complete the root canal in 2 – 3 weeks. He prescribed no pain medication other than Ibuprofen. Over the next five days the pain got worse and worse. I called his office first thing Monday morning and they had me go in. He was rude and dismissive of the pain. He told me I just needed to get through it or have the tooth pulled. He told me to take 2 pain pills every 4 hours and if I still had pain an hour after that to take another ½ a pill, and if still in pain an hour after that take the other half. I told him I had been taking pain pills prescribed by my medical physician and they were not helping. He again said, «You just have to get through this. Keep taking the pain pills.» He prescribed 15 pills. On Tuesday morning his staff called to check on me, I told them I was still in extreme pain and had already taken 10 of the 15 pills. They said they would talk to him and return my call. They never did return my call. The following Monday I called his office again because I had completed the antibiotics and was still in a lot of pain. They had me go in. He did no x-rays, no real exam, but insisted the pain I was having was not in the tooth he was treating, but another one. He talked to me as if I were a child and was very rude. I told his office I wanted a refund and I would be going elsewhere. I went to see my dentist that same day who did a thorough exam and x-rays and said he felt it was the tooth that was being treated that was the problem. He called another endodontist and got me in that afternoon. The endodontist did a 3-D xray and another exam. He said it was definitely the tooth that was being treated. He said the infection was very severe and he felt it needed to be removed immediately, so his office got me to an oral surgeon that afternoon and the tooth was removed. I was able to sleep through the night without being woken with severe pain for the first time in over a week! I called Dr. Papworth’s office this morning to inquire about the refund and was told he would not refund the money because the tooth he was treating was«fine». I told them that my dentist, another endodontist, and an oral surgeon all disagreed that the tooth was fine and that the tooth had been removed. I’m still waiting to hear back from them. I would never recommend this office at all — not even to my worst enemy!

Super friendly staff, every single one I came into contact with. As pleasant as a root canal could have possibly been.

The office, first of all, is so warm and inviting. The staff is super friendly and helped us calm down for what we thought would be a scary procedure(root canal!) Things went so smoothly… it was a breeze. The procedure was done perfectly and they called to check up on my husband. No complaints. It’s a nice place. I would recommend it.
