Meet the Business Owner

Dawn S.

Business Owner

Dawn Saunders grew up in an athletic family in Hollywood, Florida. She studied Sports Medicine and Exercise Science at Barry University in Miami, Florida; where she was a first team All-​American softball player. She went on to graduate school to study Sports Medicine and was the assistant softball coach for the 1997 NCAA Division II National Champion softball team.

In October of 1998, she enrolled in Massage Therapy School and was shortly after hired to teach Anatomy & Physiology, sports and medical massage courses. Her practice quickly filled with current and former athletes who were dealing with soft tissue tightness and injuries.

In 2010, her vision of a progressive evidence-​informed massage therapy curriculum became a reality, and she co-​founded ABQ School. The school «has no walls» as she continually creates opportunities that her students and graduates may bring massage to the local community.

Dawn currently serves on the New Mexico Massage Therapy Regulatory Board.
