5 Elements Salon

4 ½ stars… this was my second visit to 5 Elements. I had a Living Social deal for a hard gel manicure and a polish change on my toes. It was impossible to get an appoiment in April or May due to their busy schedule and my busy schedule, so I finally got in for June. I was greeted warmly and offered water or iced tea by a cute receptionist and Alysha (my lovely nail technician) was professional and nice. She did a great job on my nails and an even better job on my toes. The salon was pretty slow, so some of the hair stylists were hanging out on their phones, but the vibe was mellow and nice. The salon is clean and nicely decorated in soft blue hues. I hope I am able to get back in for an appointment when my schedule is busy. I would totally recommend Alysha and her nail tech skills to a friend. Thank you, Alysha!

If you are looking to have permanent make up, this is the place. Kym is extremely knowledgeable and professional her technique and application are meticulous. The salon is very clean, she make sure she is using new and sterile needles. The procedure was painless. Result was perfect.

I love Sharon. My hair turned out great every time, and I could simply trust her with her decision making both with hair cuts and the hair color.
She does a great job and charges a really reasonable amount for it. I still haven’t found anyone as good as her since I moved away.
Definitely would recommend!

I have been seeing Jen for my nails since December (I randomly found her on Instagram) and I just absolutely love her! I myself am a cosmetologist so I am very particular about what I want. Jen has exceeded my expectations everytime! I can go 4 weeks between appointments with no lifting at all! She also does incredible nail art, I take her nail photos off of pinterest and she’s been the only nail tech ever to actually be able to do them! She gives you pinterest worthy nails :) I always leave loving my nails and in the following weeks loving them even more for holding up perfectly. Not only is Jen the most incredible nail tech I’ve ever had but she is just an all around beautiful person so I am always looking forward to the time I get to spend with her.

It’s hard to review 5 Elements on the whole and my stylist, Kala, Baca at the same time. Kala would get almost five stars. 5 Elements more like 2.5. I say that for two reasons.
1) Although the salon does things like offer coupons as a unit, it has no centralized booking system, meaning the person who answers the phone has no idea of anybody’s availability but her own (and the others aren’t necessarily present to ask). So you pretty much have to know which stylist you want ahead of time — knowing when you want to be seen doesn’t get you anywhere.
2) The stylist named Chastity, with whom I made an advance appointment, didn’t show up for it (not 15 minutes late, just not at all). Nobody heard from her during the hour plus that I waited, nor did she call me to apologize after the fact. Eventually, Kala took care of me despite having her own appointments to keep, and even promised me a free cut in the future to apologize for her inconsiderate colleague.
That said, Kala’s service was friendly and conscientious. I found it comforting to chat with her even though I don’t generally enjoy the obligatory haircut-​session conversation. She paid attention to the style I was going for, and I will go back to her, whether at 5 Elements or elsewhere.

This is a gem of a salon with some great talent. Kayla cut my hair, and I was impressed with her credentials. It’s not a big salon, but then bigger isn’t always better. I found them because I was new to Albuquerque and looking for a salon that used L’Anza hair products, and 5 Elements came up. I intend to return to the salon, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good solid salon!

Kala is awesome… great customer service, friendly and talented. I recommend 5 Elements.

Great salon! Kristy and everyone are awesome! They do everything from hair cut/​styles/​color, mani/​pedi, gel nails, eye lash extensions and stock great products! Good location. Great staff! Fun!
