At Emma Krumbee’s Restaurant, we start each day early at 6AM with hot brewed coffee and fresh-​from-​the-​oven breads, cinnamon rolls, our signature pecan caramel croissants, and flavor-​filled muffins. Enjoy one of our hot, hearty breakfasts and you’ll be back for more!

We make all of our own soups and gravies from scratch. Then we time it just right to get our turkey, beef roast, ribs and hams in the oven — slow roasting them to perfection. Potatoes are peeled, cooked, and then mashed. No shortcuts here!

Don’t forget dessert! Our orchard fresh apples and seasonal berries are harvested at Emma Krumbee’s Apple Orchard and Farm in Belle Plaine and baked fresh into pies, fruit crisps, dessert bars, pastries, and more. The sweet treats are served at the Restaurant and are available from our Bakery to take home and enjoy with friends and family.

Stopped in on a Wednesday morning, virtually empty except for an astounding amount of wait staff. Even then it took my server 15 minutes after dropping off my water to take my order. Still, not a big deal. Ordered French Toast. Came out tasting like they had cooked it on the griddle right after frying onions, rather unappetizing. To top it off, the plate was garnished with cilantro. I couldn’t even bring myself to ask about that one. Paid my bill and left knowing I won’t be back.

I would not recommend this restaurant. We stopped on our way back from Alexandria. My son ordered a bacon cheeseburger and I got their chicken pot pie. It was some of the worst food we have ever had. My teenage son who almost eats me out of house and home struggled to eat half of the burger. My pot pie was like soup with an over baked pie crust on it. The server never checked back to see how our food was. She only stopped back to see if we wanted dessert. I remember this restaurant from years ago in the Belle Plaine area and I was really looking forward to a restaurant with «home cooking». So disappointed!

Funny, this is known as more of a breakfast place but I always come here in the evening! The breakfast is good, I had it once. Similar to Perkins. But I actually think the other food is better. They have $ 2 beers all day long from 2pm to close, everyday. So whenever I come through after a long day, I stop here. Cheap beer and the FLATBREAD is to die for! I almost always get the flatbread here. I’ve had all 4 kinds and they are all amazing. Quesadillas are great too, very large & filling. I’ve had a few sandwiches here too, very good. Overall, high quality food and cheap beer… the bill is always reasonable. Its pretty quiet in the evening and you get fast service. I even got free pie last time because it was FREE PIE Tuesday or something!?! I dunno but you can’t go wrong stopping here IMO!

Stopped in on a work trip because it wasn’t McDonalds. With extremely slow service and marginal, at best, food may consider McDonalds next time. Thankfully the weak coffee is bottomless so you can get the normal amount of caffeine after 6 cups. Keep the salt and pepper close by because you’ll need it for the flavorless food

I very much liked this place. I had a Reuben which was piping hot and the Gorilla had the country fried steak which he proclaimed tender and well-​seasoned. The menu was quite extensive in all the down home classics like roasted turkey, meatloaf, Swedish meatballs, etc. This is a nice place especially for families or travelers but it is more chain style than it is Mom and Pop. More like Grandma is a really savvy business woman who can cook really well so she opened up a spot off the freeway

Stopped by the bakery around noon to pick up a whole
Apple Pie for takeout. I immediately notice a restaurant
that was practically empty. The bakery showcase was
void of any pies, just a few stale looking bars. I was told
there weren’t any Apple Pies available. «We will get
some in later today» Really? What kind of bakery
doesn’t always have Apple Pies available especially
during apple harvest season? This was my first visit
and my last. Epic fail.

Drive from Minneapolis to Fargo and needed some breakfast. Stopped at Emma’s since it was right off the highway. Huge eclairs and cinnamon rolls. Had the biscuits and gravy. They were pretty good. It was fun to stop once and I would go back because the service was so good, but the food wasn’t stellar.

Two of us stopped in for breakfast and the place was half full. We were told we couldn’t be seated and would have to wait «so the waitresses could get caught up.» Are you kidding me? If the food is going to take a while fine, but let me sit down, read the paper and have a cup of coffee. We won’t be back.

Our family stopped here for pie just for fun. Should’ve gone somewhere else. When we walked in and said we were just in for desert, the hostess was confused and needed a manager to point out the desert menu. Also, you’d think a place that bills itself as a bakery would have a better selection. The base selection is nothing special and they were out of both pumpkin and strawberry-​rhubarb. This is the day after Halloween. Pumpkin is in season this time of year, isn’t it? The experience was saved somewhat by a good waiter. He recognized that we had young children and so put lids on their drinks, which the 2-​year old knocked over in 3 seconds flat. Whoo. Saved. Also, used his head and offered a piece of rhubarb pie with strawberry topping as an alternate to the missing strawberry-​rhubarb.

My daughter and I stopped here for lunch after hitting the Premium Outlet Mall. We really enjoyed our lunch. It’s a big restaurant with a fireplace. Kind of reminded us of a Cracker Barrel with very similar type food and small gift shop. They had it nicely decorated for Christmas. They have a bakery and sell their goodies at the counter up front. We thought the prices were really good for what you get. My daughter had the club sandwich and fresh fruit (she loves that healthy option.) I had the bleu cheese hamburger and malt combo. It was pretty good. Not fantastic but good for the price. Server friendly and prompt service.

Another midwestern-​y restaurant with a little shop in the waiting area. Just like Cracker Barrell and Machine Shed, but a little nicer than a Perkins.
Occasionally used to stop at the Emma Krumbee’s on the way to Mankato going back to school. I didn’t know they had expanded.
Stopped in for breakfast. I ordered the Farmer’s egg scramble which was good. It had fairly thick shredded hashbrowns, bacon, cubed ham, sausage and cheese all scrambled together. It was all right. The eggs were scrambled very thin which was a plus.
J ordered the cajun scramble. Not a lot of meat in his which he picked out anyways. He also opted for a biscuit which was a bit like a hockey puck– dense.
Service was good.
I was surprised to see that they had a bar.
This place must be fairly new. Everything looked brand new.
Ok option for breakfast. They don’t start serving regular menu food until 11 am.

The food was delicious! I can tell this place is pretty new, and I’m glad that they’re starting to open up more around the Twin Cities. Their line of jams and jellies, plus their baked goods, is reminiscent of Tobies in Hinkley (which is compliment coming from me!). As I was examining the label on the ingredients of their Apple Butter I was happy to see «Apple, Citric Acid, Sugar, etc…» Ingredients in English minus the high fructose corn syrup and junk they throw in to preserve stuff? I’m a fan! Their menu was decent looking as well. Though the waitress told me not to expect Twin Cities caliber of Juicy Lucys, I was still grateful that they offered them on the menu. Good food, and better for you if you’re traveling along 94 than some fast food chain.

Stopped in for lunch after doing a bit of shopping at the outlet mall. Food was ok, service was ok (though we could have used more water), I would way that this was about a 2.5 star establishment.
We saw several people with the buger/​malt combo which is what my 17 year old daughter decided to get. The problem was she wanted a plain cheeseburger, which isn’t part of the combo «specials» so instead of $ 9.99 for a fancy burger, fries, and malt I paid over $ 11 for a cheeseburger, fries, and malt. Seemed a bit silly to not let her substitute for one of the combos.
Based on this, I think the prices are a bit high — lunch was over $ 21 for a cheeseburger/​fry basket, a bowl of soup and 2 malts.

A cross between a Baker’s Square and a Perkins. Lots of bread, pies, pastries and more for sales in the restaurant bakery. The menu food was okay, the bakery desserts were better.
I went with soup & salad so I’d have room for the milkshakes and pie sampling that would come later. The chicken dumpling soup was okay… not the best I’ve ever had but I’ve had some pretty good soups in my day. My citrus chicken chop salad seemed to be short on chicken, I maybe had 5 square cubes of chicken. It was a pretty pathetic chop salad all together. I did get a few fries off my neighbors plate and they were freaking awesome. Super crispy fried coating on them, almost like they were beer battered or something. Amazingly good.
The vanilla milkshake was pretty standard. The peach pie was good. My mom could not stop talking about how good the pie was.
