I am writing because I had a problem with a return — return? — I bought a bottle of wine that was faulty and leaked all over my car — the guy in the store (either owner or manager) was trying to find a way to insinuate that it was my fault — had an attitude and after I debated about the fact that it certainly wasn’t my fault — did the right thing — but of course there was no I apologize for your inconvenience or even an I’m sorry — could have been handled in so much of a better way

Readers Wine Merchants since 1947. That is a lifetime now days. You just have to love the neon sign outside. It just draws you to this place.

This is clearly the finest selection on Long Island Of fine wines and spirits. The depth of vintage wines is impressive. The staff is as wine savvy as can be. Which leads me to belieive managemant is on the job 24/7.Pricing is more than fair with very liberal discounts. Selection Pricing Advice What else could I ask for.

So i saw a bottle i wanted online, called them… Spoke to 2 different people, they told me yes they have it its in the lock up cage. even confirmed exactly what i was looking for, told him i was going to proceed with ordering it online.
Later that day. CANCELED ORDER email. due to out of stock.
I was hoping the reviews were not spot on, and that i was gonna be the lucky one.
Warning!!! go somewhere else for what you want or need. SHADY business!

Wide selection and pretty good specials. The hard to find items are there and the staples are inexpensive. Great place to find a gift bottle.

Went to Raeder’s the other day for the first (and not the last) time & couldn’t have been more impressed with the selection & hospitality from the staff. I even met the owners Jim & Nick. I was like a kid in a candy store. They helped me find wines that you can’t get in any run of the mill wine store. Can’t wait to go back and add to my collection.

Ordered a case of white French wine by mail. Several of the bottles had turned. These things happen and the Importer acknowledged the problem and replaced the case — but repeated emails to Raeder’s were never answered. Wow.

This review is for my online purchase. Placed an order 2 weeks ago, I called to check the status of my order 3 different times but the person in charge of online orders was never in, and never returned any of my calls. Today I received and email saying that my order has been canceled because the wine I ordered is sold out? Why did it take 2 weeks for you to tell me that?

I am very happy with my online experience with Raeder’s Wines! Even though I only received 4 of the 6 bottles I ordered, they sent me what they had within a week and I am very, very excited to have my wine! I will order again from them. Thanks again!

This is a review for their online delivery. I placed an order with them over a week ago, and I never received an email that they had shipped my item. I called them a couple of days ago, and they told me that their shipping guy was out of town but they would put together my order that night and I’d have it within the week. I called back today and they told me they couldn’t find 3 of my items, which happened to be half my order. Wine searcher had them listed at 2 stars a couple of days ago when I was researching why they were so terrible. Today I don’t see them listed at all, which leads me to wonder if they are not allowed to list there anymore. So I cancelled my order, and I advise everyone never to do mail order with them.

I like friendly atmosphere here. There’s always someone around to help me find what I’m looking for. I can usually tell them what I’m looking for and they have several recommendations for me, a nice touch.
I found the prices very competitive with the other stores in the neighborhood. Svedka Vodka (1.75l) at $ 20.99 is a really good deal. I also like the Citra Pinot Grigio 1.5l ($ 7.99), also a really good price for a decent wine.
They have a really nice selection here. It looks like your average mom and pop liqueur store but the selection and service make them really stand out in my eyes. I have already recommended this place to my friends. Try it if you’re in the neighborhood.

I stopped in here in need of a last minute mother’s day gift (oops!) and ended up with a case of wine for myself :) Amazing selection!!! Very friendly staff. I found a bunch of my favorite Italian, California, So American wines so much cheaper than CT!!! Definitely putting Raeder’s on my to-​do list next time I am on Long Island.

Pretty disappointed with their service.
I ordered + paid for two bottles of wine to be delivered as a thank you gift. (paid $ 40 extra for 3 day ground shipping). Upon payment, I received an automated email that stated «We will contact you by the end of the next business day if there is any problem with your order.»
One month later, no wine. No email. Nothing.
I called Raeder’s & they told me:
1) they couldn’t find the wine I requested and
2) «we haven’t been able to ship your order because of the weather»
Really Raeder’s? Because of the weather? Can’t find the wine? Hey, I’m reasonable, you can tell me and I’ll work with for an alternative. If a customer pays for two good bottles of wine + $ 40 for shipping, you are expected to find them and send them. And if you can’t, just tell the customer… duh.
So the gift wasn’t sent. Thank you gifts are supposed to be timely, this was not cool — I’m angry.
Lucky for us all there’s Unilocal.I have no recourse with these guys, so I’ll Unilocal to you all, don’t use Raeders for shipping your wine, they don’t know what they’re doing.
