This is a new HIXpress and Suites — Google maps just shows a grassy piece of ground at this address. Note that the Unilocal map is way off, so don’t try looking for it by using Unilocal’s map. Everything worked, but the two-bed room we were in was small and had only one chair, which is one fewer than two people need. This is not customary for HIXpresses — they usually have two chairs.

The hotel was newer, modern updates and kept very clean! The King rooms were more like a suite with a couch, desk area, microwave, refrigerator and large television! Great breakfast with just about everything imaginable. Staff was very pleasant and nice. The pool, hot tub and exercise room was clean. I would recommend this hotel. Close to Myre Island State Park with hiking and biking trails that surround Albert Lea Lake.

Great service and great hotel. Clean!!! Free breakfast ;-) It looks like it’s a family friendly hotel. There’s a workout room, indoor pool, snack bar, laundry services and free parking and wifi. The thing I look for is NOBEDSPREADS! I won’t go to a place that still uses them.

Giving this five based on what you would expect for the area. Staff friendly, hotel super clean, pool and hot tub great and clean too, breakfast fine(not too many healthy choices). There is a Ruby Tuesday next door, which we had never been to before, and it was very good. Many healthy menu choices and a decent wine list(for a chain of this kind). We stayed in this hotel 2 times on road trip now and it really is perfect and comfy.

Clean, modern with good pool and breakfast. Such a relief to find such a good place while traveling on the road all day.

Our travel plans changed last minute and we ended up having to book a hotel room the day of. That hotel ended up being in the middle of nowhere, Minnesota. However, all things considered, the situation could have ended a LOT worse. The hotel is a bit further from the highway than expected and cell service sucked. We got lost trying to find our way back to the main road the morning we left so if you’re planning on using a GPS or cell phone to navigate with, open the map with the hotel wifi before getting in your car! Anyway, the place was clean, new and well-maintained. It came with free wifi, HBO, a bunch of other channels, fluffy towels and a shower with great water pressure. Only problem: the cold water definitely smells like eggs, aka sulfur. Kind of weird but it didn’t seem to cause any problems. Also, the night desk attendant seemed to have no idea what was going on. It took about 15 minutes just to check in, didn’t help that it was 1am. However, the morning desk attendant was wonderful. Seriously, he was so kind and helpful. Seemed to be an overall great guy.

Comfortable and well appointed for a holiday inn express. The gym was minimal. I did not get to try the breakfast. The staff was incredibly helpful albeit seeming a bit flustered. I believe she may have been the only one working the evening shift. It’s also tricky to get in due to the construction. The water had a distinct sulphur smell We would stay again.

New within the last year. Rooms are nicely finished, multiple HBO channels, comfy bed and pillows. Staff were nice and helpful. Standard breakfast. Only negative is that I’ve had a few rooms that have a sulphur smell to the water. I’ve informed the front desk and they claim it’s from their new well. It’s not terrible but noticeable.
