It smelled so so good in here! You can buy anything from apples, fudge, cookies, muffins, pies and cakes. Everything is reasonably priced. Unilocal took me to the wrong street but it’s right off the main road on your left before you hit Albany Street. Get the Apple cider donuts, one dozen was only $ 6.95! They were fresh and delicious. My in laws will love them as we are taking them with us to Vermont. It wasn’t crowded and they have a ton of stuff. Really close in Colonie to the Albany area.

Keep your eye on the prize. Here’s the mantra. Apple cider donut. Apple cider donut. Apple cider donut. Come here for the apple cider donut. As you walk into the building, keep the thoughts of light, aromatic, and tender apple cider donuts in the front of your mind. And maybe, just maybe, you won’t notice that you walked into what could be a great aunt’s barn that she converted into a storage warehouse for all her old stuff. You’ll have to walk past the cash register, and to the deli counter. Don’t look at the menu. Don’t look in the bakery case. It will make you think thoughts that might question why you’re here in the first place. Remember the mantra. Apple cider donut. Apple cider donut. Apple cider donut. So place your order. Take them to go, or eat them at one of the tables in the back. Just make sure to eat them soon, because apple cider donuts don’t hold well. Then consider yourself lucky that you didn’t have to drive all the way out to one of our local orchards to get one of these delicious specimens. This is a mighty convenient location for those who traverse Central Avenue around route 155, and it makes apple cider donuts a year round treat instead of just an autumnal tradition. I suppose the owners could spruce the place up a bit, but I have to believe that there are some people who find it a charming connection to some past that I don’t share. No matter. When I’ve got the itch for a good version of this regional delight, I’m glad Yonder Farms is here.

This is a hybrid bakery/nursery(I think). It was a quiet Saturday morning when we went there. We bought a apple cider donut and apple fritter in addition to some locally grown apples. Prices were very reasonable. The apple cider donut was incredible! Light, airy, essentially guiltless and just a hint of sweetness. Highly recommend it!

I love Yonder Farms! I come here often because it’s only a couple of miles from where I live. You really can’t beat their baked goods, especially in terms of fruit pies and anything fruit-oriented(they also make strudels, turnovers, etc.) The family that owns this business have an orchard in Valatie(just Southeast of Albany, over the Hudson River) and they use all of their own local, fresh fruit to fill the baked goods. I’m pretty picky about pies — I have tried a few others at larger farmstand locations throughout the Capital Region and found either their crusts or prices left something to be desired. Yonder Farms pies are definitely at the top of the good list. I had a strawberry rhubarb pie from them a couple of weeks ago that was so good I actually got kind of Gollum-esque in terms of wanting to hoard it for myself. Eventually, I begrudgingly gave my boyfriend a couple of pieces. ;) The ONLY criticism I have about this place is that one or two of the staff members can be cranky sometimes. I’ve never had an experience as bad as some of the other reviewers on Unilocal describe, but I have definitely had a visit where there were fewer smiles and pleasantries from select employees. If I felt the behavior was extremely rude I’d probably stop going there, but it’s only been a minor inconvenience thus far. Frankly, the pies are worth it!

My experience is the same one reported by Laura K.: a(very non-confrontational) family member stopped at Yonder Farms for a take-out order and was met with hostility over the use of a clearly VALID Entertainment Book coupon. First, they demanded proof of validity and got it, but that didn’t help. Tried to de-escalate by retracting the request… but were still made to feel bad over the whole incident. Why? It makes no sense. I have seen other merchants refuse to honor valid coupons(like Groupons) on which they were losing money, and at least they had the decency to be apologetic about it. Instead, Yonder Farms is blaming their poor promotional management on their [ex] customers! Food is OK but not worth the hassle, coupon or no. None of my family will ever return here again — we didn’t order the side of «undeserved shame» but apparently that was on the house…

Cute, charming little place to stop by and grab a sweet treat like an apple pie! Fresh apples, cookies, donuts, pastries. The woman that owns it is just as charming and sweet! She even have us 2 whole old fashioned donuts as samples. Cute little gift shop with soy candles, door mats, and many other miscellaneous items. :) I can’t wait to get home and eat some homemade apple pie with some vanilla ice cream.

Fresh Apples year round! This farm shop is an excellent location for baked goods, fudge, and fresh apples. So far I’ve had(and enjoyed) their apple pies, muffins, and brownies. They even offer VEGAN cupcakes as an option(which from what I hear are quite awesome.) This place is easy to get to, it’s on 155 between Western Ave and Central Ave, about 5 minutes up the road from the corner of 155 and 5. If you are in Colonie, add this place to your list of locations to visit.

This place is super homey. I love the spaciousness and variety! It’s a farm market and a cozy breakfast/lunch spot. There’s a convenient huge parking lot with an adorable water wheel at the front with some tables if you want to eat outdoors. My fiancé and I always come here during apple season because of the variety and freshness of their apples. They have tons of apples and its super organized. They also offer other veggies – I noticed really fresh squash and tomatoes and peppers. They have a tempting bakery with fresh made fudge, pies and pastries. We always get the apple cider donuts along with apple cider — yummy snack. The cider donuts are not what you expect a donut to be – not greasy or fatty at all. It’s a light taste but definitely packs the apple flavor. There is a sugar coating which I didn’t care so much for but the inside was just moist, flavorful and fluffy-sorta like cake. I noticed seating area in the back if you want to sit indoors for lunch. They offer lots of soup options and sandwiches. Overall-a very cozy farm lunch spot and definite go to apple shop. As other two reviewers stated – TRYTHEAPPLECIDERDONUTS!!!

I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place while I was in college. They have fantastic apple cider donuts that simply melt in your mouth. I also love to buy their fruit spreads and other baked goods. Everything I’ve had there was been absolutely delicious. And they have a small dining area as well. The folks there was wonderfully friendly. You simply can’t go wrong.

Located at the corner of Route 155& Albany Street, Yonder Farms is a great country store/café for fresh baked goods(cakes, cookies, muffins, pies, pastries), coffee, made to order sandwiches, soups, salads, fresh fruit, apples, pumpkins, apple cider, potted plants, dry goods, candles, and gifts. There’s ample table seating here to enjoy a quick bite to eat. The aroma from the bakery makes me wanna try everything! I love their delicious cider donuts(0 transfats), apple scones, and pastrami sandwiches. They offer a good variety picked apples from their Valatie orchard. HISTORY: Their location in North Greenbush in the 1990s was my favorite place to go for breakfast, cider donuts and pastries. It was a very nice country store/café until the store burned down. I was very sad. That location was partially rebuilt, but it’s now only a farm store with greenhouses and strawberry fields. Back in 1993, the Owner personally made a very generous donation of delicious baked goods for my community service project in North Greenbush and I give Yonder Farms a HUGETHANKS for their generosity.
