This restaurant was started by Matt Bennett and his wife Janel in 2001. They use only the finest ingredients, sourced locally from organic farmers and ranchers. The menu changes every month, highlighting what is fresh and in season.
Meet the Business Owner
Matt B.
Business Owner
Originally from Michigan, Matt graduated Summa Cum Laude from Michigan State’s Hospitality Business School in 1993 and moved to Oregon in 1994. He has won several culinary gold, silver and bronze medals in Michigan, Portland and Seattle. Matt was honored to be nominated for best chef in the Northwest by the James Beard Foundation in 2011 and 2012. He and his wife, Janel opened Sybaris Bistro in October of 2001.
