Pretty great improvements at this Subway since my last review. I come here about 3 times a month because I work in the town over. Very clean atmosphere. Always well stocked. Plenty of tables. Gets a little crowded during lunchtime when the line gets long but it’s bearable. Staff is usually in a good mood so that’s a plus!

They worked quickly. Unilocal has it wrong; this place is actually on Solano Avenue, across the street from Kyoto to-go. Opens at 0700 for breakfast. Like the monthly specials, where a 6″ is only $ 3. A groupon brought me here. Our footlongs were deftly prepared, and I was out the door in not time, despite a decent line present. Like the white choc mac nut cookie, and the sandwiches were filling. Like those kettle chips.

Good choice if you are in a hurry. Quick, easy and consistent. The people that work at this location are really nice.

Not a whole lot you can say about Subway. Their entire business model is aimed at being average. So I Subway when: — I don’t have much time for lunch so I need something quick — I want something not so messy to eat at the beach and making my own sandwich seems like too much work. — I can’t actually be inspired to go somewhere original. Otherwise, they deliver as promised and apparently that’s good enough because I keep going back.

I try and come here once or twice a week for lunch. $ 5 foot longs have become a staple of my diet during this crummy economy. Basically it’s cool to grab a bite here because the sandwiches are decent, it’s clean and the staff are really nice folks who are good to converse with. ;) My only complaint is they don’t have spinach. Other places let you substitute it in place of lettuce. No biggie, I ain’t Popeye so I can live without it.

The sandwich experience is exactly what you’d expect from Subway. I will not be examining it further. No, what this review is about is their door. This particular location is on the corner of the block, and their door is at a 45 degree angle to the rest of the building. The problem arises from the fact that this door, this very NARROW door has a pole right in front of it. I’m sure it’s probably a structural requirement. I am cognizant of the fact that we live in a seismically active region. But every time I go, I nearly end up wrapped around the pole on the way in, and again on the way out. Look, if I wanted to have a face full of pole, I’d do more of those movies I did back in the 70s. By a strange coincidence, that experience also involved a 12″ meatball. If you know what I mean.

I keep coming back, since you are in my neighborhood after all. But your sandwiches don’t seem to improve :( At least the times I’ve gone the um. I don’t even know what they’re called– sandwich makers? anyway, at least they are chatty and personable, and are even kind enough to tell you each of the ingredients one has a choice in adding. I know I’ll keep coming back, but I wish for a little«more» I guess. Maybe more deals? More personality to the place? I dunno? 2 stars for being so convenient and a better choice than the Taco Bell down the street… at least, if I am to believe Jared’s propa, err I mean recommendation. And for the guy who smiles a lot when he makes my sandwich. Is he STILL their spokesperson?
