Not a bad place to catch a game if you happen to be holed up in the Hilton Garden Inn located on the floor above, however I would not go out of my way to make a trip to this traditional sports bar, which has a chain restaurant sort of feel. The bar food is decent but the beer selections are limited. Really nothing special, yet nothing horrible either. Agree with other reviewers that service can be slow — they seem to understaff a tad, particularly at the bar.

So it’s close to work and sometimes convenient. In the past the service has been beyond slow, like waiting 20 minutes to receive our drinks(water and soda) kind of slow. So I decided to give them a chance since it’s been well over a year since I’ve gone here. The waitress and hostess were very friendly. Got our drinks and ordered quickly. My one friend ordered something separately to go from someone who appeared to be the manager who was very friendly and helpful. Got our food, nothing special a few sandwiches, wrap, and tacos. My turkey sandwich I was less than pleased with, it had this gelatinous goop on the second half of the sandwich, I didn’t complain because I just didn’t want to spend time doing so. The chips were good! It took about 10 minutes after we were done to receive my friends to go order in which the waitress had to push the people to get it out to us. 2 stars because of the gross sandwich, it was faster service which I am not faulting them for.

Recovery room has multiple locations over the capital district — from Albany, Troy, Malta, Guilderland and Amsterdam. I have eaten at 3 of these locations(all except Amsterdam & Troy) and unfortunately my overall experience was not impressive. It is a somewhat low key sports bar that tends to get busier towards the weekend and sporting events. The food is relatively inexpensive but I feel like the quality and taste as sub par often times over cooked or dry food. Service is generally spoty. Sometimes they’re well mannered and very helpful and other times they’re very slow and take longer than expected. Nice place to go get a drink at the bar or with a group of friends and watch sporting events on the several TV’s spread out throughout the restaurant. But if you aren’t looking to catch a sporting event and prefer a more mouthwatering tasty meal — I recommend looking elsewhere and taking the extra drive to a more establish location. For the Albany location you can take a short trip down to Delaware Ave where you can find multiple«nice eating locations» such as New World Bistro

Very mediocre food with rude and slow service. The tables can easily seat 10 people so it’s good if you have a big group wanting to watch a game. Don’t come hungry because it’ll take you forever to get your food. My favorite thing and the only thing I’ve liked at recovery room are the Buffalo chicken won tons.

The customer service is terrific. James the manager made it very easy to have a meal delivered to a family in the hospital across the street. Thank you. He even threw in some cookies.

I pulled into the Hilton Garden Inn after a long day of meetings and a considerable drive home. I was expecting to have to have a mediocre meal at the All American Grill that every HGI has on the property. Upon arrival I saw the Recovery Sports Grill on the bottom floor and was excited… even without knowing what the menu looked like. After checking in I took the elevator down to the first floor and was quickly greeted and given a drink. As it was 7:30 I was looking for a quick meal. I looked at the menu and started with the chili and went on to the chicken sandwich with cheesse, bacon and bbq sauce. The chili arrived with a plate full of chips and was fantastic. The chicken sandwich was brought to the table with ramakin of bbq sauce. I asked for a ramakin of hot sauce as well. Upon combination of the two it created a gloriously spicy/sweet smokey bbq sauce. Fantastic sandwich. I had too much work to do to spend the night in the bar to watch the game, but hypothesized with the bartender about Duke and Wisconsin. I would have loved to stay until the game was over, but needed to get back up to the room to get some work done. Either way, this place is a nice spot and I would definitely recommend.

I’ve only ordered take out from this location. The food is decent, but check our order before you leave. Mine are wrong most of the time. The service is usually prompt and friendly.

First time here and I ordered the chili while my girlfriend got the ahi tuna salad. The chili had too many large tomato chunks for my liking but it was still pretty good. My girlfriend loved the salad and the dressing was delicious. The service has been great and the food was pretty good. The restaurant is very clean and well kept. I would recommend coming here to watch all sports games.

Food is great. Service suucksssss. Last week we sat at the bar and the bartender was great– constant refills on wine, always checking in to make sure our food was up to standard. This work trip however, I am flying solo, so I opted for some take out. I noticed there was a 2.00 delivery plus 20% gratuity added for room service, so I decided to just walk downstairs and pick it up myself. I walked up to the hostess station and the two girls who were just standing there were staring through me. Finally I said HELLO… can I put in an order for take out? And they said«at the bar». Ok thanks for greeting me… Or something. So I head to the bar… I’m being ignored by the bartender. After 15 min of standing there, the manager asks what I need, and hands me a take out menu. The bartender takes my order and I tip her 35% without even receiving my food– what a mistake. I then watched my soup and salad sit on the counter of an open kitchen for about 20 min. I told the manager I watched all this go down and he told me the system is computerized and that it’s the computers fault it’s sitting out there. Well, considering you only have one bartender and one take out order… Don’t blame it on that dude. Blame it on the bartender who doesn’t want to work for her tips! come for the beer and wings if you don’t mind crappy service.

First impressions count and this place makes a good one. Music, but not annoyingly loud. TV’s abound with varying games to suit any fan. Diverse menu and a pretty good beer selection in bottles & on tap. And the Guinness is poured to perfection. I had the Thai salad and it was delicious! Great spicy sauce, about a 3 on a 1 to 5 scale, 5 being the hottest. And it’s topped with a tender piece of grilled chicken. Instead of sweets after, I opted for the Blueberry Lemon-drop Martini. Another win! On top of all that, the service was great; professional, personable, and with purpose. A good bartender can make or break a place. I sat at the bar, near the service area, and overheard enough from mgmt & staff to conclude they know their work and do it well. Cheers to the Recovery!

I was in Albany staying at the hotel above for Travers weekend in Saratoga at the end of August. I was excited to have a nice sports bar downstairs to spend my evenings away from the track… NOT. First off every seat in the bar area was full which was fine but when i went back to the host stand and said I guess i will take a table for one she stared at me like i was crazy. What did she think I wanted? Then I was seated on a small table right behind the server station. AWKWARD. Not a high top, not a booth. Not a good view of the preseason game I was there to watch, no just me alone at a little table. Mind you I am 6 foot 3… None of this bothered me until I sat there, and sat there, and sat there for almost ten minutes. NOONECAMETOHELPME! I could not believe it. Im right next to the host stand. Maybe I look like someone who does not tip well or something ‘hint’ ‘hint’. Anyway eventually the girl who had walked past me at least 5 times already, asked if someone had been helping me. Of course I say no and shes was nice enough to assist me. Actually she was very nice but I think she realized how I felt. I told her I would like to order now also and we got that out of the way. I ordered the fingers because I assumed that is the easiest menu item in the world not to mess up. I guess they are hand dipped which was evident in the way the breading ran off like greasy KFC. Honestly it was worse than KFC and they probably would be better off buying frozen chicken fingers so that the breading would stay on and provide some type of crunch. I ate two and I had a pile of breading in the center of my plate, which i purposely made so that maybe some employee would take notice that something was not right. I promptly wanted to pay the bill but I was staying upstairs, so for some god awful reason, I told my waitress I would move to the bar but would like to close out with her first. She took my check and asked if I needed any change before she looked in to see how much I gave her. I paid with Ben Franklin on purpose to show her that she had plenty reason to wait on me. She then said that I could move to the bar and she would bring me my change there. Not really a complaint but I could tell she had new incentive to be very nice. Before I forget, a guy was seated alone at the same type of table right behind me around the time I received my food.(Maybe this is where they place lonely guys on vacation) He waited about ten minutes to be waited on also!!! I leaned over and asked if he had been waiting long, only after someone came took his drink and his food order, followed by another waitress asking if he wanted to order right after that. I told him the same thing happened to me so he didn’t have to feel like maybe he was singled out. So whats up with not wanting to serve single guys. Isn’t it easy to make a few bucks bringing one or two large beers and one entrée to a guy. It isn’t like I would want much more…

The recovery sports grill is a decent place to go for some appetizers and a few beers after work. It is a sports bar so there are enough tvs showing whoever is playing for the night and other sports news. Overall it is a comfortable place with some outdoor seating. The Recovery room does not have the best beers on tap but it suffices. The menu offers typical American burgers and fries, as well as salads and some Alfredo noodle dishes. They do try to keep things fresh by adding new items to the menu. It’s an ok place to go from time to time, the food can be a tad too greasy but it”s alright.

If you’re spending a long day in the hospital across the street(visiting, of course… I’m not advocating that patients elope from their beds and scurry across the street), Recovery is a decent place to grab lunch. The service was quick and our three meals came out fast. Plenty of tv’s with various sports channels to watch. I had the veggie burger. The menu says that they are hand-made, but I have serious doubts. Usually hand-made veggie burgers don’t come out in a perfect disc. I’m talking perfect circle, uniform flatness on both sides, with a mysterious brown Boca-esque«meat» on the inside. Nonetheless, the food was decent, cheap, and fast.

Less than stellar food. I tried the chicken fingers(hand dipped). I was told by the waitress it was their specialty. They were dry and tasteless. The coleslaw side had hit the sour/rotting ledge. The French fries were normal but not really good. The only thing that was above par was the pretzels. Warm and soft, they were good. The cheese dip was something like watered down cheese but not terrible. The rest of the bar, was a bar. One cool table top feature was the radio. You could tune in any TV in the joint to hear the sports. That was a winner.

Great wings and beer specials. Big place. I had hot wings and Margarita Wings ½ order each. Both perfect, done well and meaty. Lots of TVs for all the games. Connected to the HIlton Garden Inn.

It’s a chain restaurant, on par with the likes of Friendly’s and Applebees. But, I suppose I should say more than that. On a recent excursion to support my mom while she was getting a procedure done at Albany Medical Center(which is directly across the street) we decided to grab a bite(and the first bite of the day, mind you) during the actual surgery. I was a little thrown off by the name, considering I was at the Medical Center, and in all honesty I couldn’t care less about sports. But it wasn’t Panera Bread or Starbucks, so I was all over it. The hostess was no where to be seen when we first walked in the door and stood there for several minutes before someone came around the corner and acknowledged us. Our waitress was friendly enough, not over attentive but pretty much just right. I have a great strategy when it comes to chain restaurants. Just play it safe. Do you really want to order those boneless buffalo wings or that cheeseburger? Hell, even stay away from that veggie burger. Appetizers are usually pretty safe, same with the salads. I got the southwestern salad, The two with me ordered a cup of the potato soup each, mozzarella triangles, and the artichoke dip. Safe enough. My salad was actually quite good. Black beans, corn, romaine lettuce that wasn’t dead or wilted(pet peeve of mine), and they even had my honey mustard salad dressing. I know, healthy right? The whole meal came to around $ 30 and was virtually painless. Play it safe, and you won’t be to disappointed.

So I made a trip to Albany and this place was in the first floor of my hotel. I was starving and they give 15% off your meal if your at the hotel. The service was kind of hilarious. It was this like college kid, comes over and is like, «you want something to drink?» HILARIOUS. Anyway, great spot for a quick lunch. I had the chicken sandwich. It was exactly that… a chicken sandwich. The prices are CHEAP. I dont think I have went out for lunch and paid less than $ 10 ever… The actual place seems kind of like an adult sports playground… I didnt go in there at night… I was scared.

The place had a chain feel to it but you cant go wrong with a sports bar, especially one that lifts your spirits after sitting in the hospital with your loved ones for hours on end. Got the chili for an app, wasnt bad… not great either. Burger was ordered for the meal and it was pretty awesome, much better than expected. Hard to go above 3 stars on a sports bar/pizza/burger type place. No complaints though.
