Perlman’s Towing & Recovery

Could not keep an appointment, gave excuses and lied repeatedly about ETA. Ultimately never showed up and a replacement tow company was procured. Wasted the bulk of my day off waiting.

Roadside assistance through my insurer contacted Perlmans. My insurer relayed to me a 2:10pm tow time and informed me they won’t do unattended tows, so I waited at my disabled vehicle at that time. At 2:40, I called Perlman’s directly to get an ETA and make sure a driver was on their way. I was told another 45 minutes, they were busy with other tows. They said they did not make appointments and the 2:10 tow time I was given by my insurer did not come from them. I waited another 45 minutes, they never came.
At 3:30, my insurer called to see if the tow had been successful. When I told them my current status, they contacted Perlman’s. My insurer told me Perlman’s told them the truck had been on its way, but had a flat tire, and they had to dispatch another truck which would take 45 minutes. Having heard this song and dance, I requested another tow company. My insurer called around and said another tow wouldn’t be available until 6:30, so I waited another 45 minutes, they never came again.
Once again, I called my insurer again and updated them as to my status, the status of my car, and the tow. My insurer was furious, and let me listen in on their calls with Perlman’s. Perlman’s once again lied to them and me. There had never been a flat time, they explained, but 45 minutes and they’d be there. No way. We found another tow company. They couldn’t come until 8:30pm, but they could do unattended tows and they did come at the promised time, and do the promised work.
Perhaps I just caught them on a bad day, but the substitute tow kept to their timeline and did as they promised. Perlman’s lied to me and to my insurer. My insurer said they were going to review their contract with Perlman’s based on this experience. I have no reason to believe the drivers are anything but terrific, but Perlman’s dispatch or central operations are a total shitshow.

Perlman’s towed my vehicle, caused $ 500 worth of damage, and subsequently denied and provided false information during the course of an insurance investigation. I would give them no stars if possible. Not much more to say about this place. Pretty clear cut poor business practice as far as I’m concerned.

These guys helped me out when my ignition broke. It took a while for them to get to my car, about 2 hours. But lets be honest, we were hit with one of the worst snow storms ever. They were busy so its understandable
Now when the guy came, I was having difficulty getting a ride back to my house. The driver offered to ride me to my house rather than leaving me there! He was super polite too, and they were able to fix it at a great price! Quickly at that

I had my babygirl towed this afternoon by Perlmans. I can only say that the driver treated my baby (Chrysler 300) just like his own. He was fabulous! Seriously. He knew exactly what to do to make sure not to tear her up underneath. PERFECT! BRAVO! Thank you so much. Four flat snow tires.

Horrible service. Told at 8pm they would be out in 120 minutes. 2 hours later, they said another 90 minutes. At midnight they said they couldn’t accommodate me until the morning — first thing at 6am. Needless to say they never showed up. Not sure how they run a business this way. Not even proactive to call and tell me they were having issues. Use someone else !!!

Short and sweet: Gotta say these guys are top notch. I had a problem with my BMW (long story short, don’t buy a BMW these days because they aren’t what they used to be) and Keeler recommended Perlman’s. It wasn’t an emergency (the car was in my driveway) and it was a bit out of their normal area, but they still got a guy over here and got it to Keeler ASAP. Great service and some really great people.

Something went wrong with my coolant and well, my car started billowing smoke. So I pulled off I-​90 and parked my car in a lot of a nearby business. I called AAA Hudson Valley for a tow truck and was told that it would take about an hour for someone to get to me and tow my car to my mechanic. Perlman’s was there in about 20 minutes which made me happy. And then i got to watch him put my car on the truck which was so cool that I almost forgot that my car was overheated and was billowing smoke just moments earlier.
I was very happy with the speed of the service and gave the driver a hug because he made me happy.
