Ocean View Park

Recent renovations have made this park a great place for families to hang out!
Its sports facilities have been upgraded and the park now has structures for children to play.
Along that it has amazing new picnic areas for families to just have a nice meal and time together.

For a toddler, this is a perfect playground. It is fenced in. The structures are just the right size. It is very clean and well taken care of structure. They have baby swing, a disabled swing, and adult swing. It is a tiny place, but unless there is a party going on, I have only seen a few families there at a time.

Great all around park. Enough green space to use, even if the ball field is being used. The playground is good for preschool — elementary aged kids. The bathrooms are generally clean. The tennis courts are well maintained. There are several picnic tables and BBQs under the trees. And there is a grass area beyond the tables big enough for volleyball-​type games. Great park for locals!

Oh where oh where is a decent baseball/​softball field locally?
Groundskeeper «Steve» does a pretty great job keeping the infield in tact: dragging it, marking the foul lines before games and keeping it maintained.
Since other leagues make use of this field it’s hard to keep it very maintained: soccer leagues/​practice, kickball, multiple softball nights, baseball, and other uses. Monday night mens ASA leagues are fun yet competitive. One of the umpires is terrible while the person who is in charge of organizing these leagues is terrible. Some teams are «dirty’ and play dirty, umpires somewhat do their jobs. Good experience to at least do once!
It is hard to keep the outfield grass maintained. Many potholes found in the outfield. There is a batting cage for anyone to use.
If you stay too late (when they shut off the lights) you’ll find rate surfing around from one garbage can to another which can creep you out!
It’s a good field but not the best and one makes the best of their availability! Play ball and play hard!

PROS:
–Great enclosed playground for toddlers (2 – 5 years)…plus, you’re a two minute walk from the playgrounds at the elementary school.
–BATHROOMS! I’m not talkin’ port-​a-​potties, real bathrooms!
–Well lit tennis courts, baseball and soccer fields.
–A picnic and BBQ spot (that you can rent out) right next to the playground… lots of picnic tables and BBQ pit.
CONS:
–The playground has bark mulch… so your kids can’t wear sandals otherwise the bark mulch gets into their sandals.
–I live right next door to the playground, yet the shaded area by the playground seems to always be colder and windier than where I live. Come prepared and wear layers!
Overall, we love this park!

How do not have lights on the tennis courts at 6PM? Not 3 in the morning, but 6pm!!!

Nice play area with a variety of play structures.
The large rock is the unique item in the playground. It seems man-​made, but looks and sorta feels authentic. It’s cut to make some steps and hand-​holds.
There’s also some swings, a small climbing structure for elementary age children, and a play structure with slides, monkey-​bars, and a small «rock-​wall» type climbing structure (which my 2 year old just mastered and loves!).
It’s pretty empty early in the morning, but bring a towel to wipe off the dew on the slides and swings. I think there is an after-​school program the meets in the area later in the afternoon. So, there are quite a few kids running around at that point.
Oh, and the have BATHROOMS! Thank goodness! Always a big plus after morning coffee!
