I can only review the restaurant here.
This place is a bit like going to your wealthy eccentric aunt’s country estate. Every thing is older, a little odd but still charming.
We had a very fine and affordable meal here. They have excellent roast duck here and a limited but tasty menu overall.
I’d avoid it here if you’re looking for a romantic meal though– my lady love and I ended up seated next to two loud and hammered parties that would have been obnoxious by game day at a sports bar standards. The staff did an excellent job managing their insults and general rowdiness however. That said, go with a group of friends instead.
I stuck with a top review as it is a charmingly quirky place with fine food and great service. We just may have caught an off night.

This review is for dinner at the restaurant, we did not stay overnight night.
I attended a rehearsal dinner here Friday, and this was an amazing choice. It was right down the street from the reception venue where we had been setting up the space before dinner.
This place has stunning views. Really mind blowing views. If the food had sucked and the staff had poured it on me, the views would still be good enough to make up for that.
The food was good though. And the staff was helpful and around whenever we needed them!
The view from the dinning room was incredible. It made such a perfect backdrop to a special evening.
In addition to stunning views, the grounds were beautiful. As soon as we parked the car I started taking pictures. I also had to walk all around and look at everything. The pool was amazing looking. It looked like it belonged at a fancy resort in the Caribbean. We were talking about putting our feet in just to sit by the pool and pretend it was ours to use.

Do you like to hear the room next to you having sex or simply talking? Oh good, then you’ll love it here. Bonus points if you like lousy food and an under staffed establishment. The area is extremely buggy. You will be eaten alive. Would not recommend

We also used a Living Social deal to stay at the Darby Field Inn last summer, and our experience was excellent.
The location is absolutely amazing – beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, well kept and quaint grounds (including a heated pool!) and perfect distance from both the town of Conway and hiking trails/​swimming holes.
Marc (the owner) and Carol were very accommodating and gave helpful tips about exploring the area. The food is great, the best continental breakfast (if you can call it that) I’ve ever had.
We will most definitely be back.

This is a long overdue review, but I will make it brief. For a more detailed review, read my hubby-to-be’s, Jason M., account.
I discovered this place via LivingSocial. After seeing solid reviews here, I have decided to book a stay for an impromptu trip.
Down-​to-​the-​point, if you are going to stay there, you should book on LivingSocial. I had a special price of $ 188 for two nights plus breakfast (before NH tax). The breakfast served was good, but meh in comparison to other B&B I’ve been to, it was like glorified diner food.
The housekeepers were very nice and grounds were tranquil, but my stay was on a Monday-​Wednesday deal. The view of the White Mountains were spectacular and I thought it would be a beautiful place to have an intimate second wedding at.

This is the first B&B-style establishment that I haven’t given 5 stars. It was a very good experience for sure, but there are a few fair criticisms to express:
–I don’t think the heat was on in the allegedly heated pool.
–The room and the facility walks the line between «old and charming,» and «just old.»
–Breakfast was very good by all means, but I could make the same thing at home.
Some noticeable missteps indeed, but there’s a lot more good to say than bad.
–The grounds are absolutely spectacular. The view of the mountains from the 3^rd floor was magnificent. Isolated and quiet, yet close to all the Northern New Hampshire attractions.
–Carol and Cathy are overwhelmingly nice. It was a pleasure to be served by them.
–WiFi
–Even if the pool wasn’t heated, at least it has one. Horseshoes and other yard games too. Access to cross country skiing trails in the winter.
–Dinner was AWESOME. It was pricey, but I absolutely loved my half rack of lamb chops, served with mint tzatziki, rutabaga, zucchini, and your choice of potato. At $ 18.99, it was worth it, and very filling.
We noticed that many other establishments in this category of hospitality are right near the road… why bother with those? Instead, come find the peace and quiet of the Darby Field Inn.

Spent a nice weekend here on a Groupon and enjoyed it immensely. The food was delicious and the people certainly make you feel very welcome and part of the place.

We went to New Hampshire for the weekend to attend a wedding. I foubd the Darby Field Inn online. The pictures made the place look like a post card so we gave it a try. We loved it! It was just what you’d expect a New England B&B to be. The staff was so friendly and helpful, the breakfasts were good and so was dinner we had. The Inn was very clean. Now this is not a super modern hotel, it’s an old farm house that has been made into an Inn, but that’s part of the charm. The modern amenities are there of course, but the grounds at the Inn are so beautiful we never actually turned on the television in our room. We even had a steam shower and fire place in ours! We highly recommend this place!

Very cute. My boyfriend and I came here on a Livingsocial deal on a Monday and Tuesday night in winter. First, the inn is easy to get to. Second, the staff is super friendly. They were more than helpful in directing us to town and snowshoeing around their property. They were always checking to see if we had anything we needed. No dinner served the nights we were there but we did get snowed in and the owner offered to go pick up dinner in his truck. He also set up a fire just for us. Breakfast was good. Room was simple. A little squished but no problem for us, we’re only 25. Although very few people seem to work there I would say the main appeal is location and how very incredibly friendly the staff is from the cleaning person to the person at the front desk. Not run down, just older, maybe «cozy». We were one of only two couples staying here during this time. If you need anything at night you need to go out for it. The staff leaves the premises but you have your own key to the inn and your room.

My hubby and I LOVE coming to Darby Field Inn and this is why:
— fantastic, attentive, fun staff (especially Carol, Karen and Al in the kitchen)
— delicious breakfasts and dinners
— quaint Inn, stunning grounds/​landscaping, fantastic views, peace & quiet (no little kids allowed :-)
— Samuel’s room has it’s own private patio with stairs leading down to the pool and STEAM SHOWER — I am in love! There is nothing better to help you unwind like a steam room after a long day of skiing or hiking… well that and some wine of course (great wine list!)
We are very much looking forward to coming back continuously. In winter it’s close proximity to North Conway skiing, and in warmer months tons of hiking along Kancamangus highway and canoeing on the Saco river.
We have never had a single negative experience in Darby Field, and we come back to the hustle and bustle of Boston rejuvenated, happy and relaxed, always!

The Darby Field Inn and Restaurant was the destination for Jeff and I to celebrate my 27^th birthday. He made arrangements for a one night stay from a Thursday to Friday, smack in the middle of July.
Driving from Connecticut, the scenery was amazing. We drove for about an extra hour to go through the White Mountain State Park, and take a bit of the scenic route. It totally worked, we saw a black bear run across the road right in front of our car! Many stops along the way for photo ops.
The Inn itself was fairly easy to find, however I got a little nervous my old shaky Saturn might not make it up all the little mountains. We arrived, and were grateful to stretch our legs, and noticed a spectacular view of Mount Washington, even from the parking lot.
We were promptly greeted upon walking in. The place definitely reminded me more of a large bed and breakfast. There was a dining room, a small tavern room with a bar, spacious but very old fashioned sitting area, but there were windows EVERYWHERE. Jeff and I had fun gaping at all the old-​skool VHS that lined the wall for guest use.
The upstairs again is very funky and old fashioned, but well cleaned and obviously cared for. We arranged for a two room suite with a jacuzzi tub and private balcony. Score! The room was small, but it had everything we needed for a quick one night getaway. The only thing our room might have been missing was a little mini-​fridge. I had brought a small cooler in case of this catastrophe, which we filled with ice to keep my SkinnyGirl cocktails cold.
The balcony was a bit covered in the shade, so I wore my sweater while gazing upon the breathtaking scenery. Even for the middle of July, it was a bit chilly up there, and I did end up wearing my big sweater most of the time. It was super warm in the sun, however, and their heated in ground outdoor pool looked like a super idea.
We included a couples massage a few hours after we arrived. For the price, this was a great addition to our stay. The girls came right to our door, and brought us to the attic room of the inn where it was set up as a small massage studio, with tables and sinks and a very peaceful atmosphere. Both girls were extremely professional, and both very nice.
A three course dinner package was also included in our stay. We were told that we could order as much as we like, but the three course included either one starter to share, or two salads, then two entrees, two desserts, and two coffees. For $ 70!!! I added a half bottle of Veuve Cliquot, and upgraded those coffees into Irish!
The food was spectacular, home cooked and made with love. We were the only guests staying at that particular time, (we were told we were deep in the off-​season) so it seemed like we had a private dining room together to celebrate.
We enjoyed classic New England Clam Chowder, and a chilled Strawberry Ginger soup. I scraped both bowls cleans. We shared a Darby Salad, which was just fresh greens with gorgonzola crumbles, cranberries, and walnuts. Simple and Delicious. Dinner for Jeff was half a roast duckling with raspberry sauce, and I went for an evening special, pork medallions served with artichokes, roasted tomatoes, and kalamata olives. The food was cooked perfectly, and I made a point to Jeff about how I was able to clear everything off every plate that night. We were offered coffee and dessert, and we opted to go for a slice of French Apple Pie (which came out with a candle) and we took our New York style cheesecake back to the cooler in the room.
Our stay at the Darby Field was everything we wanted it to be. Quiet, secluded, amazing views, and it was somewhere new. The downtown of North Conway is only minutes away, and we enjoyed our Friday in the sun shopping and dining all the way down the main street. There are a plethora of inns and b&b in this area, but definitely take the Darby Field into serious consideration!
The staff did seem like just a few people, however I thought they did a very good job of accommodating our every need while we were there. Again, we did go during the quiet time of the year, but the folks who were there were super accommodating.

The room and setting of the Darby are simply beautiful. You could not ask for much more in NH. The downfall of this establishment is that they seem perpetually short-​staffed.
The food on the other hand is one of the worst meals I have had in a long long time. I ordered a salmon fillet and when it arrived rare I had to send it back. Upon my entrée’s second arrival it was still raw on the inside so I had to give up. They did comp my meal but the service in the tavern was not only slow, but neglegent.

Our stay at the Darby Field Inn was exceptional! We did the deal via Living Social. Marc and everyone at the B&B was extremely accomodating. The décor and rooms were clean and quite cozy. The breakfast provided was delicious with a nice variety of options on the menu. I would defanitely recommend booking a room @ the Darby Field Inn. It is conveniently near Cranmore Mountain and just far enough where you can avoid all the tourism and relax comfortably.

We just used a Living Social deal to stay at Darby and has a fantastic time! The inn itself is beautiful but it’s the surrounding property, especially when covered in newly fallen snow, that is stunning. We didn’t venture out with snowshoes but they have them ready to rent. Marc, the owner, was incredibly helpful in providing directions to local attractions and guided us to the most wonderful, family owned cross country skiing spot. The breakfast on both days was especially lovely, and nice to choose from a menu of specially created items rather than a typical ‘continental breakfast.’ Oh, and they’re a 10 minute drive from some excellent outlet shopping.
The only small hold ups from 5 stars– and really, I’d give it 4.5 stars if I could– is that the shower wasn’t so great (low pressure) and our room was definitely on the chillier side. There was a radiator we plugged in to help it warm up. Granted, it’s a beautiful old home, and the weather outside was averaging around 6 degrees so perhaps being chilly is justified.

We booked a sleigh ride there for this weekend. Unfortunately, there was not enough snow for the ride to go off. The problem is, we were told when we booked the sleigh ride that they would call us if there were any problems with the sleigh ride. On the day of the ride, we drove an hour from Lincoln to Conway and were then told that there were no rides that day. The person at the desk had no idea why we weren’t notified and didn’t seem all that concerned that we wasted three hours of our getaway weekend due to their error.
I find it funny that their website has all sorts of penalties for cancelling a reservation but absolutely nothing if they screw up and cause you to waste hours driving for nothing.
The saving grace is that my brother-​in-​law was about to book an entire week there and we’ve convinced him to stay elsewhere.

I enjoyed my time at Darbyfield, but I am not sure I would give it 5 stars. I stayed there a while back so it is possible things could have changed.
It was a nice in with a lot of charm. I am pretty sure we were the only guest when we stayed which gave the inn an eerie feeling. The dinner was great, but the weird thing was that we had to order it when checking in — I am guessing that is because were were the only guest and they were going to make it then reheat it when we came to dinner.
My main problem with our stay was that i found the bed to be uncomfortable. I hate when the combine two double bed to make a king sized bed. Also, were supposed to have a steam room. The steam room was basically you could sit in the tub with the shower on a steam setting. No exactly what I had expected.

The Darby Field Inn is a very nice inn. The best part is that they provide binoculars for watching birds in the field while you wait for breakfast. The breakfast itself was elegant but not otherwise remarkable.
Our room was clean and had enough space for two to be comfortable with four bags and assorted ski boots. It’s finest attribute was the view of farmland and forest provided by the third floor location.
The inn has its own small trail network that provides a pleasant diversion of a few hours and it is right near the spectacular scenery of the Kangamagus highway.
