Carla is amazing and very highly trained in women’s health, hormone and reproductive issues(she has a PhD in acupuncture in women’s health, or something along those lines.) She’s also skilled with Chinese medicine/herbs. She will fix you up! I saw her off and on for many years, as needed, for various issues. She’s not one of those«come back every week for the rest of your life so I can make some $ practitioners.» She’ll help you out and then send you home!

Carla has been exceptionally helpful and effective at different times with arthritis and healing after surgery.(The surgeon was shocked with the high degree of healing in just a week, during which I got 3 treatments from her.) She is a very warm caring person who pays attention to who you are and what you need; on my first visit after a year’s hiatus she came in and immediately started asking about issues that we had been dealing with well in the past. Having been to half a dozen other acupuncturists in the East Bay, I highly recommend her.

Bronchitis. Nobody likes to be around the girl who can’t stop coughing. I went to Carla at the first opportunity, and received a very peaceful welcome into the homey atmosphere of the clinic. Carla combined aromatherapy, needles and suction cups on my back. I had the most peaceful sleep during the treatment and felt well taken care of. The herbs she prescribed taste like earwax and bitters but I’m definitely feeling better(4 days later).

Little kids and needles? Seems like a bad combination, but Carla is the one to make it happen in the best possible way. A few years ago when I wanted to find an acupuncturist for my young daughter, I searched on the Berkeley Parents Network for a pediatric acupuncturist and found Carla(apparently the folks who write rave reviews about her on BPN don’t Unilocal, otherwise you’d see lots of great reviews here). So I took my, then 4 year old, totally needle-phobic daughter to Carla to help with some juvenile arthritis issues. Carla is so good natured, calm, patient and caring, that she quickly became my daughter’s «favorite doctor»(and she has quite a few doctors). Recently my younger daughter(now 4) starting seeing Carla and she’s totally at ease with her and we are getting good results on quelling her chronic cough If you have kids and think acupuncture or Chinese herbs could help them, Carla is a great place to go. And she also treats adults!
