I met with Alisa eight months ago. At my first appointment I had very thin, straight hair. Thin because I’m aging, and straight because I was blow drying. It took some time but I now have a head full of wavy hair. I wouldn’t say my hair was thick, but I do have double the amount.
Alisa recommended I used ROGAINE, which I never would have used, and it worked. She talked me out of using a blow dryer. She cut my hair to bring out the curl and wave. I have to say this is the happiest I have ever been with me hair and I’m in my sixties.
Plus her prices are low compared to other salons in the area.
On top of all that she is funny, smart and a real pro!

Alisa is a very talented hairdresser! She has outstanding skills in hair color and Brazilian blowout. She is also very friendly, and makes you feel special!
Highlights:
1. Brazilian blowout is on expensive side, but it is so worth it. It makes your hair look very healthy, shiny and freeze-​free for at least 3 months. Alisa is using high quality products that do not harm your hair and last for a long time!
2. I have tried services at many hair salons, and even though I live in a different city, I always come back to Blesk salon.

I’ve been a client of Blesk for almost two years. I admit I’m very fussy about my hair and have been through many stylists over the years. I’m always very satisfied with my hair when I leave the salon.
Alisa always takes time with me to listen to what are my great aspirations for my hair ;-) She takes that into consideration, but then let’s me know what will actually work for my hair. I appreciate how knowledgeable she is and her straightforward manner. Alisa let’s me know what’s going to work and is not just telling me what I want to hear.
Also, I have a very sensitive scalp and allergies to certain products. Alisa takes care to make sure I am comfortable at all times and not feeling itchy or irritated.

I’ve never written a Unilocal review before, but after this experience I felt I should really warn other people.
Unfortunately I received the worst haircut I’ve ever had. I’m usually pretty easygoing about haircuts (it all grows back eventually) but this was embarrassing. I asked for bangs (a la Zooey Dechanel) and basically received a bullcut in the front and a mullet in the back. Even my close friends couldn’t pretend it looked ok. We call 2016 my 80s rockstar year. I had to pay another hairdresser at another location to fix it. She was appalled by my hair and did the best she could. I will never go back to Blesk. No one should.

This place is AWESOME! Alisa is AWESOME! I got the most amazing Brazilian blowout & cut, I couldn’t be happier :)

Subpar haircut, poor customer service. Alisa was rude and condescending. Not worth coming here even with Groupon. Believe the negative reviews which are more recent reviews.
1) On day of appointment, lady by desk greeted me and I told her I have an appointment with Justina. She then asked me to sit on her chair and I asked her, Oh you’re Justina? She nodded and said yes. But when I asked her about her name again, she said her name is Diana. Justina is off today. Why lie the first time? And why didn’t I get a courtesy call that my appointment with Justina is canceled?
2)“Deep conditioning treatment” was not moisturizing at all. My straight asian fine hair got so much tangles after getting washed.
3) Subpar haircut, poor customer service. I explained to Diana the style I wanted but It was not met at the end. As we were discussing, Alisa, who was working with a another customer, kept interjecting. She sounded rude and very condescending. I’ve had enough of her rudeness so I then calmly told her it’s ok, I’ll just have it fixed someplace else. She then softened her tone and offered to have Justina fix it since she cannot refund groupon and Alisa doesn’t do groupon. I don’t expect a refund. I hoped for a good haircut and courteous/​pleasant service.

I do not usually write reviews o the salons I visit from a Groupon deal but I had a wonderful experience at Blesk so I thought I would share. Justina is a fantastic stylist. She did a deep condition, cut, blowout and flat iron of my super curly hair. Justina took the time to ask me what I wanted, how I was going to style my hair daily and what tips I was looking for. Not only do I love my cut that is perfect curly or straight, Justina gave me a ton of great tips to continue to keep my heir healthy and shiny between visits. So far, so good and it has been almost 2 months :-) I will be back!

I went there for the first time about three months ago because of a Groupon offer. I got the best coloring I have had in years and a Brazilian Blowout that was amazing. Yes. I forgot to write that first review.
I came back yesterday for a color retouch and a Brazilian Blowout –no Groupon this time– and it was worth it. The results are again wonderful. Alisa, the stylist who did my hair, is great. Nice and very responsive.
I will definitely go again when my gray hair starts showing his true colors.

I bought the groupon for the split end treatment and cut and style and I am so so happy! Justina is amazing! She knows what she’s doing and does the best techniques so your hair looks good and isn’t damaged. This is the best haircut I’ve ever gotten and the price was totally reasonable. I’ve gone tons of high end salons looking for a good cut and I’m never super impressed, but I couldn’t be happier with this cut. The split end treatment seemed to help, my hair feels really soft and healthy and looks super shiny. I will definitely keep coming to Justina.

Usually i don’t waist my time on reviewing the place unless i had super good experience… and that’s exactly what i got when i found BLESK…
Everyone there is super nice and attentive… highly recommend this place.

I walked in today (after checking their schedule and seeing that they accept walk-​ins) only to be rudely yelled at by who I presume to be the owner. Even though they close at 4PM on Mondays, I walked in at 2:30 only to be told that they are in the middle of a class. There was no sign on the door — the door was wide open! Never going here again. They could have at least politely explained that there is a class rather than to yell at a future customer. Might I add that his attitude was very rude as well. Don’t go here unless you want to get yelled at.

FIVE STARS!!! I just moved to the area after going to a top salon in Philly for over 15 years. With no lead on a hairstylist, I went to a few places, finally finding Blesk around the corner. Alisa is Amazing!!! I went all in on my first visit: highlights and layered cut on my long hair. Alisa is an absolute pro. She really has a great depth of knowledge from growing up working in a salon. She’s keen on European techniques that allow her to give me full layers while still keeping my hair long! I should mention that I have stick straight Asian hair, so to finally get some fullness without products is really amazing to me.
I was afraid the color was going to be too brassy, but it turned out terrific! I went to my 25^th high school reunion two weeks later and people were complimenting me on my hair.
I love that it’s a family business too, as her mom does men’s cuts at the salon too!
I just went in for my second visit, and she took the time to consult with me on what I wanted done this time around. She nailed it once again… Highly Recommend Alisa!

Wasn’t the best. Wasn’t the worst. Very… meh. The salon has always been such a nice relaxing experience for me, but Blesk was really dirty in my opinion. They didn’t sweep up the hair from the previous client/​clients before I sat down. I love having my hair washed and scalp massaged, but there was none of that happening. I was told I had a deep conditioning treatment, but don’t know when that happened and definitely don’t feel it when I touch my hair. In fact my hair feels more dry than anytime I’ve had it done before or washed it myself. The cut isn’t wonderful, but it’s not so bad that I’m crying my way home. I’ll just never go back. Some folks love this place and I think that’s great, but it isn’t for me.

Alisa is an East Bay secret gem — she has exceptional training and understands both the science and the art of hair cutting and coloring. Her work ethic and devotion to her craft are obvious. I am half-​Mexican and have frizzy, thick, wavy hair that has spent most of its «career» in a pony tail or bun. She makes my hair look fabulous (even down) and the best part — she knows the psychology of clients and what they can handle (or not). She never up-​sells things you don’t need. My life gets busy and so I asked her to text me when I am ready for follow-​up appointments, which she does.

I went to Alisa because the reviews stated that she understood curly hair. For those with curly hair, you understand how difficult it is to find a stylist. She completely butchered my hair. There is no style at all. Every time I look at my hair I just want to cry. I leave for vacation today and my pictures will be ruined. At this point, I can only hope it grows out quickly so I can get it fixed.

Had a groupon and they had great Unilocal reviews so I tried. It takes a lot for me to write a negative review but I was unhappy with my cut (stylist butchered my bangs and did not take time to look at my pictures/​talk to me about what I wanted). Tried to contact the salon for a fix since I couldn’t figure out wtf to do with the bangs and they never got back to me. Simply poor customer service. At the time of my appointment my stylist was no where to be found and no one knew I had an appointment scheduled. I walked around and came back in a half hour and still waited a few more minutes at which time stylist did finally show and insisted I had app time wrong. I did not. Seriously disappointed considering I do not often get my hair cut. Still dealing with these ridiculous bangs growing out.

Finding a good stylist is so freaking difficult. You end up going through so many disappointing haircuts before you fiiiiiinally find someone that gives you an absolutely fabulous cut.
I was afraid I was gonna hafto to back to LA to the stylist that took me forever to find, esp after having a couple experiences up here that left me a lil hrmph, — there’s thing about understanding Asian hair. I was totally ready to make a trip back down and get my hair done…
And now I don’t have to!!! I have finally found a stylist in the bay that does a fantastic freaking job! I’m incredibly happy with my new do… THANK YOU STEPHANIE I LOVE YOU, YOU ARE BEST!!!

This review is for the best stylist, Stephanie Clark. I’ve been getting my hair styled from Stephanie for a few years now. I refuse to go anywhere else! Not only do I get the perfect cut every time, I really enjoy Stephanie’s sense of humor and wit. She’s really a life stylist and has awesome insight and advice on any topic.
Stephanie is always ahead of the latest fashion trends and has great ideas and recommendations. This is especially helpful for me since I’m definitely not an expert in that area. I also can’t wait for her blog and website to come out so I can always be on top of the fashion game!

I got a Groupon and desperately needed a haircut so decided to give Blesk a try.
I appreciate that Stephanie was very real and honest with me. Told me straight up my hair was a mess, which was one of the reasons I wanted to chop it all off. She tried to get it as close as possible to the cut I wanted, which was difficult given my hair texture. But she gave me some very useful tips!
Overall, I wasn’t in love with my hair, but I never am after the first day. A few weeks later, after it’s grown a little, I find it looks better.
Would consider returning.

I saw Alisha today. She knows how to cut hair and is very intuitive and patient. She’s easy to work with. However, the salon itself is very small and old looking so the ambiance is lacking for these prices. I might come back to see Alisha but they should try to clean/​renovate the salon to make the place look more upscale.
