History

Established in 1977.

In 1977, CEOs Tom and Adele Connors began a small advertising and marketing firm in the soon-to-be two-time Winter Olympic Games host, Lake Placid, NY. With a few hundred dollars between them, Adworkshop grew from two people and a handful of clients, into one of the largest full-service advertising and public relations firms between Albany and the Canadian Border.

In 2007, we became an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), and today, each employee has the opportunity to own stock in the company, sharing not only our ideas but our collaborative successes as well. Our ESOP program nurtures a culture of shared responsibility, an approach that has seen greater employee satisfaction and increased productivity for the ultimate benefit of our clients.

Meet the Business Owner

Adele C.

Business Owner

Adele’s love affair with the Adirondacks goes back centuries, to her grandfather who made the arduous the drive east from Cleveland in a time before highways and few roadways into the remote wilderness. Born in Massachusetts, Adele spent her summers in the Adirondacks, gaining an intimate knowledge of both the landscape and the people who lived and worked here.

Since then, she has successfully managed decades of integrated campaigns through the I Love NY program for the Adirondack Region, and the Thousand Islands, overseeing cooperative programs with economic development agencies throughout the state.

Adele has served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations, including the Adirondack Foundation, Adirondack Health, and the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. Her leadership on the communications strategy for Fort Drum helped keep the base open during the last round of BRAC base closings. She currently serves on the board of the National Center for Employee Ownership.
