Alamo Oaks Dermatology – Shanny A. Baughman MD

Accepting new patients only 5 weeks out only with a written referral from another doctor. Not helpful to a skin cancer survivor willing to pay in cash who is new to the area and has 2 new moles of grave concern. Someone needs to re-​read the Hippocratic oath. And hire a less snotty receptionist. Total fail.

I actually didn’t get past a phone call to the office but I was impressed. I called and inquired if they accepted my insurance and if they were part my Network (many on the Derms listings on my network website aren’t actually with the network) The helpful and kind receptionist let me know that they did not accept my insurance and that they weren’t part of my network. At that she gave me a list of doctors that were part of my network cutting my work of having to call all the doctors from my list. They were so kind and helpful that I asked about the timing of getting an appointment (which was next week) and the cost of out of pocket. I know I haven’t actually seen the doctor herself but I was impressed with her team’s helpfulness. I figure this is a place that is really willing to work with their patients.

I can not say enough good things about Dr. Baughman and her staff. I didn’t think the wait time was bad and she is worth waiting for anyways. I had to have an excision and let’s just say I was a wreck. She was so sweet and supportive and really listened to me and made suggestions about how to calm my nerves beforehand. During the procedure, I was even more of a mess and she really tried to help. She has wonderful bedside manner and is just all around great. I would HIGHLY recommend her.

Still seeing Dr Baughman for various Dermatology things.
What can I say, I love her! I never feel rushed, she always takes her time to go overall of my concerns.
If you are looking for a dermatologist — I highly recommend her.

Yes, you have to wait to see her like at any other doctors office.
She takes her time taking a look at your issues and makes swift decisions to rectify.

Wonderful doctor, would highly recommend! Have seen her several times in the last year, but after a recent experience had to stop and write this review. After seeing her in the late afternoon for a minor procedure, woke up the next am to find out I was apparently allergic to the topical cream that had been used prior to the treatment. I was supposed to leave that morning to work a convention for work, and had a face that looked like a tomato!
Obviously this was in no way her fault, no one can know about allergies ahead of time! But in a panic I drove to her office and was there when they opened, and she very kindly saw me quickly before starting her day and prescribed a steroid cream which quickly took care of the problem and prevented my looking like a total freak in front of 500 convention people, lol!
I very much appreciated her going out of her way to help me in a slight emergency situation. She is very caring and listens to her patients, and her staff is very nice, professional, and on the ball as well. Excellent choice in physician if you need a dermatologist in the greater Walnut Creek area.

Zero stars for this bad doctor. She will only spend 2 minutes with you and will make you wait a very long time. Her office is not busy so I thought she was a young new doctor in town. I was very wrong. She is old and is just a bad doctor no one wants to see. I was really shocked by the way she looks because she does cosmetics but she does not use them on herself f but needs to big time). Not an attractive woman!!! She likes to push her cosmetic on you too. Big lesson learned… if it is to easy to get an appointment and the waiting room has no one in it the doctor sucks!!! STAY AWAY FROM DR. BAUGHMAN… EVERYONE ELSE IS (JUST CHECK OUT HER WAITING ROOM).

I think Dr. Baughman is a great doctor! She is thorough, listens well, friendly, professional and careful. I have seen her for general dermatology issues and she has never pushed or mentioned cosmetic dermatology services, so don’t shy away from her office is you aren’t interested in cosmetic dermatology. Her office staff are equally nice and professional. I was referred to Dr. Baughman by my internist, who also thinks very highly of her, and I’m glad she did.

I have gone to Shanny’s office multiple times for Dysport and Botox. After a few times using both botox and dysport, I think I prefer dysport. Also, naturally I get a bit of nerves every time I go in for a procedure and they always make me feel very comfortable and at ease. Shanny is very knowledgeable about her products and knows all the facial muscles and where and how to do her injections. She is so knowledgeable. I felt no pain on the injections and I always leave very happy with my results. Oh and super easy parking!

In my 5 visits to her, Dr Baughman has been knowledgeable, quick, ready for my questions or concerns, and courteous. Her staff is friendly and efficient. My husband has also become a patient because of Dr Baughan’s skill and background in diagnosing and treating skin cancers.

Shanny is a wonderful dermatologist! She’s friendly, listens well, and knows how to keep solutions reasonable. Her office is lovely and her staff is friendly and efficient.

Sensational dermatologist, here’s why:

2. Very clean facility
3. Wait time is not too long
4. Doctor asks questions and provides straight answers
5. Doctor has fresh breath
No wonder she is featured on national news programs. Great doctor.
