Triple Threat Academy offers daily skill development training and basketball camps in the Bay Area. We currently have locations in: San Ramon, San Jose, Alameda, Oakland, Richmond and Pleasanton and offer additional Summer Camps in Danville, San Carlos and Piedmont.

History

Established in 2003.

Triple Threat Academy has been helping youth around the world learn life skills through the sport of basketball for almost a decade.

We have done camps in 4 countries and have recently been voted the Best Camp in the Bay Area (Bay Area Parent Magazine) in 2009 and 2010.

We’ve helped countless players reach their basketball goals, whether that be making the team, gaining a starting spot, earning a college scholarship (over 300 TTA Students), play in the NBA (2 TTA students) or just improve skills to better enjoy the game of basketball.

My son loves the Lil Dribblers classes. The class curriculum is great for young player development. Coaches Antione, Mark and Miles are top level and really know how to get the best out of the players on a consistent basis. They motivate the players and keep the class moving quickly. The classes are a lot of fun to watch. The facility at Bladium is great too. They have a new café and have added heaters for the spectators. All of the staff are great! We’re looking forward to watching our son grow in this program.

My boys (10 and 8), who are good basketball players, attended the winter camp at San Ramon. While the coaching was excellent, the facilities they played in were less than ideal. Beta Court is really designed as a storage unit. They use removable wooden tiles as the court floor. There are no windows and no other spaces for the kids other than the court itself. It’s a bit claustrophobia-​inducing. The tiles aren’t perfectly even with each other and my sons felt that it was a bit wonky to run on them since it wasn’t a perfectly smooth surface. We decided to move the boys to the Piedmont facility (the middle school) this year but the registration is through the town of Piedmont. Turns out, their platform adds $ 50 in fees to the Triple Threat registration costs, bringing the total to $ 215 per kid for three 5 hour days of basketball.

My son just completed the Little Dribblers program with Coach Antoine. Although my son sometimes did not want to go, once he got there Coach Antoine was instrumental in getting him motivated, teaching him a wide variety of skills and most of all making sure he was having fun. The coaches had a great way with the kids and it was fun to watch my son improve.
We have been coming to the Bladium for a few years now for soccer, baseball and not basketball camps, we will come back for more.

Coach Antoine McKinzie and coach Stephanie at the Alameda facility are excellent at teaching basketball skills, and helping the kids develop a sense of pride and accomplishment for the skills they learn.
Coach McKinzie creates and maintains a disciplined and structured environment, that is always fun and challenging for the kids. More impressive is that coach McKinzie does an excellent job providing positive reinforcement by balancing both praise and corrective exercise when teaching skills.
Our 9 yr old son has been attending Triple Threat for a little over a year now, and coach McKinzie and the Triple Threat program has definitely had a positive impact on our son. The Triple Threat Academy has not only improved our son’s basketball skills and understanding of the game, but it has also helped improve his appreciation for earning positive results and improvements through hard work.
We have recommended the program to other parents and will continue to do so.

My soon to be 8th grade daughter just finished her first camp with TTA and we were very impressed. She was concerned that this camp focused on ball handling, and as a post player, that is the part of her game that is the weakest. Well they broke down the skills to a very fundamental level, were patient with her and kept giving her advice and an opportunity to perform the skill over and over. After the 8 sessions, her ball handling is vastly improved (left hand, between the legs, etc.) and she asked about participating in the next session with TTA.

Excellent camps. Excellent coaches. Miles has taught my son and daughter both, he makes it fun, not fluffy, and you will learn skills in this class. Very positive atmosphere for the kids. We do tons of basketball, camps, classes, teams, many different leagues over the years, Triple Threat tops it.

Just so everyone is aware about Triple Threat Basketball. I just spoke with the owner, Tony as a courtesy. I relayed the story of my disgusting experience with one of his coaches, Miles Tarver. Unfortunately all he did was make excuses for Miles rudeness, saying Miles was his top trainer. So I REITERATE DO NOT go to them. If Miles is their top guy, I can’t imagine what the other trainers are like.

The BEST fundamental and skills clinic and camp. We’ve looked into many and this was by far the best.
My sons have been going to TTA for 4 years and they love all the coaches and enjoy the workouts. Whether you decide on individual training or group training your child will get the attention he or she needs. The coaches take pride in seeing the kids succeed and you can see it with their interaction with the players. I know I did with my boys!
Coach Tony and Coach Lou put together a great team of coaches for all all locations.
