Safeway

I don’t know if it’s me, if it’s the area, the time of day or what but the employees here don’t seem very happy. They walk past you as if you weren’t here and if there’s not a possibility that you could need some help. No smiles, no good morning and just a lack of customer appreciation. They have everything thing I look for when I’m shopping and there’s wifi in the comfy seating area.

So, I had been told by my co workers that the Starbucks inside of this Safeway had not so friendly customer service, but I thought I’d try it out anyway.
Well, my co workers were right and I can see why they go to the Starbucks in Target and not this one.
I definitely will never be going to this Starbucks again.
A lot of people love Starbucks at my work and they’re losing a good amount of customers. Very unprofessional attitudes that workers put off from this location.

Love this store. Clean and well stocked, staff is great.
Have been here frequently and have not had to wait in line. Great selections in emat and produce.

This is from back in July so a little late lol. ordered a cake last min over the phone which had to be picked up the next day. Wasn’t to sure about what I wanted or how It looked. Cindy from the bakery helped me, but not only did she help me she went out her way to send me pictures on her phone of what the cakes looked like. She went above and beyond to help me which is hard to find. Thanks Cindy.

It’s a nice store. Modern & well-​stocked. However, they very often don’t have baggers and maybe I’m old-​fashioned, but I want someone to bag my groceries, like the other grocery stores do. It may sound petty, but after a long day and a long wait in line (not to mention the $ 150 I shelled out) I would just like someone to bag my groceries for me! That’s why the 3 stars.

Wow. This is a new Safeway. I cannot believe how horrible it is. Shelves always empty. Staff is ghetto and rude. Ten people in line. One checker. Checker has problem. When she asked a fellow employee if he could help her his response was «naw I’m busy.» In the Parking lot… Well the employee bringing in the carts left a huge row of carts across the aisle blocking all traffic while he took a smaller load in. I think all of alameda was extremely excited when this Safeway opened. The south shore store is always so crazy. BIG disappointment. Will never go back to this safeway ever again. Nob hill here I come.

The service in the Starbucks inside the Safeway at the beginning was very good. The ladies who serve were vey efficient, but now it is totaly changed, because most of the time there is only one server and she takes about 15 minutes to serve one customer and I heard customers complaing about the time tthey spend in queue

This applies for the deli only.
Pretty bad customer service. I understand having a bad day at work but at least show your customers you care. Back to the south shore location.

Third or fourth time to this Safeway store as it is convenient to work and home. Just returned to work after getting some lunch from deli counter. Have not been able to get out of there smoothly yet as there is always some confusion but that may get worked out someday. The unforgiveable part though is that I watched the deli worker cutting lunchmeat into piles and it was hard to watch. She had gloves on, but the long baggy sleeves on her sweater were touching the lunchmeat as she was cutting it. The contamination possibilities are a very serious issue and I cant help but wonder about the dynamics of using a rest room with these long baggy sweater sleeves. I mentioned it to one of the deli workers who had the perfect answer, which was «it helps us keep warm back here in the deli section.» Beautiful. I checked out at the register and stopped to talk with a gentleman that I thought may be the manager. It turned out he wasn’t but he did say he would take a look at the situation. I left.
I’ve seen this disregard for hygiene and lack of training at other stores but was hoping that the new Safeway may be more on track. It definitely wasn’t.
The Lucky store in Alameda was an even worse violater and I did write a letter to the health dept but I don’t see where there have been any improvements.
I have a real problem with the thoughtless practices that result in cross contamination of the food I am buying and I hope Safeway can correct this issue.

Nice Safeway, everything clean i like they’re self check out it’s in a nice area too there will be more stores coming soon in the area i would go back to walk around and see what else this place have to offer .
What i bought at safeway sushi burrito it was actually good.

Brand new Safeway on west end of Alameda. Right near Target and Micheals. Has Star Bucks right inside too. Now I have another option. Same friendly staff.
