Leuko Lab is amazing! Mostly because the staff is so personable, they really take the time to get to know you and are so warm and friendly. All the nurses make you feel so comfortable– Mary at the front desk is the best, and the the doctors are so calming and really put you at ease. If there’s any place that could get me to sell my own bodily fluids, its this place :) They are great and really compensate their patients fairly and generously. I recommend this place to everyone.

I love LeukoLab! I’ve been donating for almost a year, and will continue doing so for as long as I can! The staff is super friendly and professional. They really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable, both mentally and physically.
Whole blood: Super easy and quick. I equate it to going in for your annual blood work, as they only take a few vials. Much less of an event than when you donate a pint to your local blood bank. Advice: eat food and hydrate ahead of time, and stay warm so your veins are visible.
White blood cells: Either a 2 hr or 4 hr session. Not a big deal, blood goes out one arm and comes back in the other. You can watch movies or read to pass the time. I personally have a harder time doing the 4 hr one, only because they encourage you to fully hydrate beforehand, and I have a very small bladder. While they do offer a commode (portable toilet), it can be complicated process getting out of bed while still hooked up to the machines, and one wrong move might make it difficult for the blood to flow properly again to finish the procedure. But I don’t discourage doing this procedure! It’s pretty easy and pays well. Advice: eat food and hydrate ahead of time, and stay warm so your veins are visible.
Bone marrow: I was most nervous about this one, but as it turns out, it was a piece of cake. They completely numb you up, so the procedure itself is painless, just slightly uncomfortable. Everyone interprets discomfort differently — for me personally, it just felt like a small cramp in my behind. I’ve certainly experienced worse! Definitely worth the compensation. Advice: take deep breaths in and out during the procedure.
They’re pretty good at scheduling your next appointment before you leave. If nothing is available for your blood type at the time, they’ll usually call you within a week when something comes up. Otherwise, you can always call them. Most of their appointments are in the morning. It usually takes up to two weeks to receive your check. For example, if you have a Wednesday appointment, they’ll likely mail out your check on Friday of the following week.

Leukolab is the perfect way to make a little extra cash and also do some good for the world! I was always hesitant to donate blood because I have tattoos and there are other reasons I thought I wasn’t the best donor candidate, but since it’s all for research those things don’t disqualify people! They do a preliminary physical, mostly looking for hemoglobin & iron levels. I am so happy a friend referred me here. Very compassionate nurses and staff. I am usually late to my appointments and they never give me a hard time, but you should always show up on time :) Yummy juice and snack bars after donations. This is NOT for those with a needle phobia! But for everybody else, why would you not want to donate?!

Just like everyone else on this site, I have to very much agree. LeukoLab has the most wonderful overall staff, and at a facility where you would hope for as much. I’ve donated blood, bone marrow and T-​cells a few times, and though this is usually not considered a pleasurable experience, it is the caring staff, nurses and doctors who really care about you, your comfort, answering your questions and are just all around wonderful to hang with while there. The money is great too!

The staff here are so nice and really seem to enjoy their jobs! I started donating in May and have had a 5-​star experience every time I go! So far I have donated bone marrow once, white blood cells once, and whole blood about 5 – 6 times. The bone marrow is uncomfortable but not unbearable. Remember to take deep breaths during the process it really does help. White blood cell donation is long (4 hours) so make sure you use the bathroom before you start the process! You get to watch movies during this and I actually had fun. The whole blood is easy and fast since they take small amounts. Donating helps find a cure for diseases and the money is great! There is plenty of free parking and free juice and granola bars after you donate.

I’ve done a few donations here so far (whole blood and white cells) and it’s been the best blood-​letting experience I’ve ever had. Everyone is very friendly and professional, and definitely skilled at their jobs. They explain all procedures thoroughly and make sure you’re comfortable. Compensation is great and you get a check in the mail pretty quickly. Sooo many thumbs up for Leukolab!

Every time I go there for a donation they make me feel so comfortable. Everyone that works there is friendly. Today was the second time I donated my bone marrow & they made it as painless as possible.

I’ve been coming here since I turned 18 so about 6 years now and I’ve always donated whole blood and bone marrow. The staff is always friendly and professional. The whole blood is a synch to do and goes very quickly, the bone marrow isn’t so bad either but will leave you a little sore on your back the next day but nothing that would make it not worth doing for $ 450! easy money!

If you’re thinking about donating blood or bone marrow, and are a little nervous or hesitant about the entire process, make an appointment at Leukolab. You can make an appointment quickly and promptly on-​line. The entire staff is super professional, and they walk you through EVERYTHING. Plus, all of their needles and equipment are sterile, and only used once, not sterilized and recycled.

I have donated several times at Leuko Labs– bone marrow, white blood cells, whole blood. My boyfriend and sister have as well and we have never felt so comfortable (especially considering) it’s an amazing experience to contribute to research that could possibly find cures for such life threatening diseases. The people there are very experienced and are very attentive. I have told others about them and they have become donors as well, so if you want more information they are online. All you have to do is pass a physical and you can become a donor!

I had a great experience yesterday donating blood at LeukoLab.
Paulette Erickson and her team did a terrific job of making the process easy and painless. The beautiful thing is my blood and platelets will be used for Cancer and Diabetes research to help find a cure by research labs all over the country.
And once you’re approved to be a donor there are several different kinds of blood donations (whole blood, plasma, white blood cells and even bone marrow) that you can contribute AND you get PAID for your donation — well paid. It feels great for me to be of contribution in this small way and I would encourage others to see if they’re eligible as well!
