Haunted Hornet

Came here on the final evening of the Halloween season, Sunday November 1. It was the continuation of a birthday celebration that had started at a nearby brew put. There were six of us: two guys and four women. The four women screamed so much our ears were ringing after it was all over.
It was so cool to come up to this ship in the dark. It was huge and foreboding. Sound effects, scary characters, screams were plentiful over the course of the next 45 minutes. It was all very well done. So well done that I wouldn’t recommend this for kids.
I’m looking forward to this again next year, whether it is again on the Hornet or at another venue. And I think I’ll bring earplugs…

The haunted hornet was by far one of the scariest and most fun Haunted attractions I been too. Driving up to the parking lot of the hornet was creepy enough, not knowing where your going, but the real fun happened inside. The make up, the effects and over all setting was amazing. I really appreciated this company sends small groups in at a time to experience all the scares rather then having a continuous line of people walk through and being able to see what’s ahead. I’ll be back again next year!

We had done the Winchester Mystery house the night prior, so we decided to keep the Halloween haunts coming and try another Bay Area scare zone.
Tickets are 35 at the door, or 30 if you buy in advance. These guys hire actors who will try their best to scare you and insult you while you wait in line and you will wait in line for quick sometime. They let people in very slowly as you get a whole presentation when you enter and they want you to enjoy your experience.
My fiancé was scared out of her pants in this place and as was I. There are a ton of actors here in this ship and it’s pretty confined so you will encounter many ghouls and ghosts who are out to scare you. Watch your step and don’t run is what they told us, and truly follow that advice as you can get hurt.
A great Halloween experience without a doubt.

I had the opportunity to check out the Haunted Hornet last night. I’m a big chicken. I’ll admit it freely. It’s not hard to make me scream. I’m an easy target. My trick in checking out haunts is to bring someone who is a bigger chicken that I am! (Which is often hard to come by.) Happily there was a girl in our group that was petrified and her consistent screams probably made the actor’s day. Whatever takes the attention off of me, works!
This haunt is new to the Hornet. (However, rumor has it that they are planning on keeping this venue. Hopefully we can watch them grow here for years to come.)
Highlights: The first half of the haunt. I screamed at least 5 times… and I am always trying NOT to scream because I am well aware that screaming will draw the actors to you. Even so, I couldn’t help myself. They got me. :) The people running the haunt did a great job of not sending too many people in at a time. This may seem inconsequential but walking through a haunt as a conga line is a bore, which makes this very important in the end.
I walked into the haunt creeped out because I’ve read story after story about how the Hornet is one of the most (legitimately — wait… is there such a thing as legitimately haunted??? Hmmmm) haunted places in the United States.
I’m looking forward to being a return customer next year. ScareCo. is on to something good here.

The Haunted Hornet was awesome. Walking up to the massive ship is scary enough at night. But once we got inside it became clear this wasn’t a typical haunted house. Just taking the stairs that lead you to the bottom of the ship for the first part of this attraction was terrifying. Once we got down in to the ship the feeling of fear took over all of us. We could barely move our feet.
As my friends and I slowly made our way through The Haunted Hornet it just got more and more scary. The actors were very intense and excited to see us. They sure gave us our money’s worth. I don’t wanna give to much away but the ship alone is definitely worth the visit. Not to mention they also have a pretty intense maze. We thought there was no way it could get any more terrifying but the the maze was even more insane.
Awesome location. Awesome sets. If you haven’t been, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!

I truly enjoyed this experience, due to the setting it was unique and different and a lot of fun! It is promoted as 3 experiences, really I would only consider it as 2. The sets, costumes and lighting effects were great and the scare actors were very good at their jobs and made me jump on a few occasions. My only criticism is the price, I was in the attraction only 20 minutes. I paid $ 35 (full price is $ 40) and I feel to justify that price the experience should be longer, either that or a more reasonable price range would be $ 20 – 25 (even that’s a dollar a minute). When I arrived on Thursday at 7pm there were only 9 of us waiting, is the price putting people off? I would not hesitate to try a ScareCo event in the future, especially if the price was right.

Mediocre. Definitely a $ 15-​$ 20 worth experience but not a $ 35-​$ 40 experience. The actors, sets and props were great but it was incredibly short. At least we went on a slow night and were able to go through in groups of 2 – 3, so the scares were personalized. Still, the website promises «3 experiences» but we only went through two mazes. When we asked the dude at the end who was polling us (read:free market research) he said just being on the ship was the 3^rd experience. When we asked if we could go through again he said we could potentially pay ½ price to go through again. No thank you, I’d rather not pay $ 20/​ea more to go through the same experience again. He later stopped us from checking out some of the readily accessible exhibits on the ship. Honestly, if given the chance, I’d save my money and go to an amusement park’s scare fest if you want more bang for your buck.

Awesome details. Lots of Actors, great energy. The entire ship is really scary. I do like this location better than the abandoned bart station in west oakland.
