Their service is very inconsistent — mostly on the bad side. The first time they cleaned by house they did a decent job but every subsequent time since then but once they were disappointing — their cleaning job looked rushed and sloppy. On top of that they frequent re-​schedule appointments at the last moment.

1. you should ask what a deep cleaning means. I was told 3.5 hours. In my situation, that meant inclusive of the 45 minutes the person was late. I asked for one specific thing which was not done. No attention to furniture or rugs. It may be their policy but that should be mentioned in the «deep cleaning» policy.
2. If you want eco-​friendly products — make sure you see what they use.
3. eco-​deep cleaning. a laugh. dusted around things. And I do mean AROUND. If a object was on the shelf, they didn’t come within 3 inches of it. Shelves over 4′ — missed. Areas under things, OK, I will accept those being missed but that should be mentioned when you call them.
Yes, it is my fault for not complaining and giving a tip. I just expect a professional job to be done without that so my suggestion is to get an agreement beforehand of what is expected. Emphasis on eco-​friendly.

The carpet was a mess, dirt and shoe marks everywhere. The front of the stove was speckled with food and the floor in the kitchen had bits of mud and dirt visible. The table had a bunch of dust all over it from the lamp above and one room hadn’t been vacuumed at all. There were no bags left in any of the garbage cans and the compost and recycling bins were full.
I’d love to say this was before Alameda Green Home/​A Really Clean House came to clean but this is what it looked like AFTER they were done.
I was told by Lorna that the cleaning would be a «deep cleaning» and that «extra time would be spent since this is the first cleaning.» I was quoted a very high price but was told this would just be for the first cleaning and after the cleaning team assessed how long it took them to do our house she could give us an estimate for future cleanings. We moved to Alameda from San Francisco (where everything was more expensive) but in SF we paid $ 60 per cleaning of the same size house (and actually MORE square footage) but Lorna quoted $ 130 for the first cleaning.
After calling and calling I finally spoke with someone in the office. He had no details and said he’d have to speak with the cleaning team and with Lorna. This took a couple more phone calls and he finally came back with «She can come with a different team at your next cleaning and give you a $ 10 discount.» Um, no. A $ 10 off is not going to bring me back as a customer.
I HIGHLY recommend you look elsewhere. This «really clean home» was more of a «not so clean home» and they were WAY overpriced.
WORST clean we’ve ever had and the customer care was non-​existent. If I could give zero stars I would.

Really bad experience with these guys.
I hired them for a move-​in cleaning of our new place, and a move-​out cleaning + carpet cleaning of our old apartment.
First, the cleaner called me and said she would be an hour late. Fine by me, as long as they were able to do the move-​out cleaning once the movers were done.
They arrived an hour after my desired time, as scheduled, and I showed them the new house. I left them to do their thing, and went back to my other apartment to help the movers. They called me a few hours later and said they were done, I said «OK, I’ll let you know when the movers have finished.»
I left to go check out the job they did at the house, and found that they had completely ignored the inside of cabinets, failed to wash the floor of the bathroom — all kinds of stuff that we discussed as what was covered during the move-​in cleaning.
There was sticky goo still on the outside of the cabinets in the kitchen, and inside the pantry there was a used fork and trash. But they had left by the time I discovered this. I was about to give them a call when they called me, and they said they stopped by my old apartment and the movers said it’d be another two hours and they had an appointment in the east bay they couldn’t be late for. I told them that we wouldn’t be in this situation if we didn’t have to reschedule for an hour later than original, so I called my landlord to see if they could come back in the morning. He was fine with it, even though we were supposed to be moved out that day. The movers were a little annoyed also because the cleaners came and argued with them about the time, which bothered me.
I also told them that there was still stuff to clean in the new house. They offered to come early the next day at 7:30 to clean the missed items. Fine by me.
Fast forward to the next day… it’s 8:00 and noone has arrived. I give her a call, she says she forgot it was daylight saving time. So she says she’ll be there soon. 9:00 rolls around…9:30 rolls around… then finally, 10 AM, they show up. They go through the job they missed before, and I check it again. Same junk is left, spiderwebs inside the cabinets. I can run my finger along the sticky stuff and remove it. Disgusting. She cleans off the spots I specifically point out, but at this point, it’s just ridiculous.
They go to my new place and clean — 2 hours later they say they’re done. It looks OK to me, the carpets look good. But they failed to clean the inside of the oven adequately enough and my landlord took out a chunk of cash, because he gave me a specific checklist to follow that I gave them.
Overall, ridiculous experience. Never using them again. Their website says they offer no refunds and we have to call within 24hrs for them to come and fix anything we aren’t happy with, but at that point, I lost my money because I’d rather do that than have to deal with that company any more than necessary.

We used Lorna’s team monthly for about nine months. The first 5 were great but slowly the cleaning got worse and worse.
First we noticed none of the book shelves and dressers weren’t dusted, although she sent a team back to do it the job was still sub par. The next month the housekeeper didn’t show up. After playing phone tag with the office we set up another date. Still didn’t show. She finally came two weeks after our initial agreed upon date but the floors weren’t done at all. We have the very same problem the next month.
Eventually my boyfriend emailed Lorna to cancel her service and we never were so much as responded to or asked why were weren’t continuing. Costumer service doesn’t seem to be a priority.

Only reason it’s not 5 stars is b/​c I’ve only used them once. But, it was great. They arrived right on time and didn’t leave until job was completely done. Plus they are GREEN, which is a real plus.
Included everything except the windows (window sills, window gutters, baseboards, heater grates, doors, door knobs, mantel, sweeping)
bathroom: floor, walls & little yellow drips on ceiling, tub, sink & fixtures, inside cabinets
kitchen: floor, inside cabinets, stove top/​oven & under stove, sink, counters, refrigerator (wipe down inside, outside & clean underneath)
And we loved the «referred by Unilocal» discount!

I made an appointment for Lorna to come over to view my place and give an estimate for a deep clean service. I thought Lorna was a sweetheart, and once we began chatting, realized we have quite a bit in common. I am a clean person, but had lived in my Victorian unit for 1.5 years, and it needed some attention-​to-​detail cleaning. Lorna gave me my quote, I gave her a check, and the appointment had been set.
Two of Lorna’s employee’s came to clean my apartment and spent 3.5 hours removing any trace of fingerprints, stains, splatters and dust from ceiling to floor. The team was extremely friendly and very thorough. Once the team was close to finished they asked me to take a look around to see if anything had been missed. Any request I made was promptly attended to. I am very happy with the service Lorna and her team provided.
Additional Note: Lorna and her team use «green» cleaning products (not sure if they are 100% organic as another post suggests) so no harsh smells or residues, and no worry of toxic chemicals being inhaled by the employees or going down the drains!

Lorna’s team did a very good job deep-​cleaning our medium/​small house in Alameda. Her staff is really nice and professional, and the price was totally reasonable, especially considering that the team brings its own organic cleaning supplies to your house. I would certainly recommend Green Home in terms of work ethic, trustworthiness and high quality service.
Aside from being ecologically friendly, Green Home is also a small, independently-​owned local business. It seems employee-​friendly, in contrast to the larger corporate cleaning companies (many of which are notorious for undervaluing/​mistreating their employees). That is important to me and benefits our community.

I would give a negative score if it was an option. We set a time for an appointment which the owner called to confirm. Her crew never showed up and no courtesy call was made. I as a customer had to do the follow up call to find out what was going on. She finally called me back to let me know that she couldn’t get ahold of her crew. I hope that they’re okay, but from a business practice perspective, she should know before a confirmed appointment whether her employees are on schedule to meet the set time. It shouldn’t be the customers responsibility to let her know that her crew didn’t show up. She did offer to set up another appointment, but a bad first impression is a lasting one.

We were very happy with Lorna & Fari and the service they provided.

as he did wonderful job ‘green cleaning’ our carpet.
This is the cleanest our carpet has ever been and ‘green’ is definitely
the way to go!

Lorna came out to give my house a ‘once over’ before setting a very fair price. We were really excited about her coming in to do our cleaning.
I felt a bit taken advantage of, however, and came away really disappointed. Lorna was supposed to come in the morning, but called an hour before asking to change the appointment. I had company that night (the reason for the cleaning in the first place) so she asked about coming at 2pm instead. She arrived with a helper 25 minutes late and spent the following 15 minutes after that on the phone. She even interrupted my work and asked me for a pen and paper when she realized that she did not have her organizer to write down the prospective client’s information.
Lorna received a lot of phone calls throughout her job with us and she took each call – even private, personal calls. I really liked the energy of her helper, however, he is not a house cleaner so she was busy either talking on the phone and/​or providing her helper tutorials throughout the job. All in all, they only cleaned my kitchen, living room, and bathroom… and it took 3 hours (not counting the late arrival)!
The cleaning was not a deep clean… she spent a lot of time on items that I had no interest in cleaning… like the tops of my books on the shelf and the insides of our recessed lighting. That said, she did do a great job on the hardwood floors.
One whole part of our countertop was missed as well as the outside door of our dishwasher. When I pointed this out to Lorna, she laughed and said that she had been «a little distracted today.»
I would not hire her again… even with the distractions, I found her commentary after her business phone calls unprofessional – I’d never want to be on the receiving end of that! I wish I had had a better experience with her.

guess she changed the name of her company but DO NOT USE! unprofessional, unreliable, STILL hasn’t given me my apt key back even though i’ve asked several times. would schedule cleanings but never have anyone show up several times in a row!!!

They did a great job on the move out. The owner was really impressed. I’m sure we’ll get our full deposit back.

The first time Lorna came to the apartment my boyfriend and i shared, she spent about 2 hours just following me around with an open trash bag and basically giving me permission to throw stuff out that i’ve been keeping for years, like my endless detailed records of my chemo treatment and random bits of the detritus of my life. It was just what i needed to move on.
She’s been great, and coming home to a really clean apartment every couple weeks is a godsend. Thank you Lorna!

Lorna and her team did a great job. I had just moved into a new house that wasn’t completely the cleanest upon move in and with very little notice Lorna and her team stepped in to help. I’ll be using her regularly now, and I’m looking forward to a clean sparkling home with her aid. Very highly recommended.

After a long time of *trying* to handle all the housecleaning myself — I finally bit the bullet and hired a cleaner. Actually, several. The first few I hired didn’t show up consistently and when they did, they’d scrape paint off the cupboards or chip enamel. So when I found Lorna and her team… I was incredibly pleased and grateful. They always show up when scheduled. They are very personable. They clean immaculately and they don’t scrape off paint or enamel. I feel like a queen when I come home after their visits.

If you need house cleaning in the Alameda/​Oakland area, A Really Clean Home is a great choice. Lorna leads a great team of housecleaners. They’re prompt, thorough, nice to interact with, patient with my yappy little dog-​beast, and incredibly honest. In the years she’s worked with me, not so much as a nickel on the floor has gone missing. I love how my home looks and how it FEELS after they’ve worked. Lorna’s prices are very reasonable, and she is always flexible enough to work in the time for extra requests (clean your acreted oven after a three-​day Thanksgiving baking and roasting marathon workout? No problem!) Lorna has also found time to help me herself with organizing, and even with massive, panic-​stricken packing when we found the right house, and moved in a hurry. Ask the impossible. She’s there for you!
