History

Established in 2014.

The name galaARTS is inspired by two of my loves and passions. My daughter, Gala and my art. Gala is also an elegant party and that’s what I want to offer my community when they celebrate their loved ones and the people in their lives.

galaARTS mobile private celebrations and classes celebrate life! A child’s birthday, a best friends baby shower or just a new and fun way to connect and engage with your employees, galaARTS has something for everyone! It offers classes that helps you Find your Inner Goddess, to honoring and remembering a loved one by making a Day of the Dead glass skull. And by using the art of mosaic and other art mediums it let’s us slow down, meditate and be aware and present of our surroundings, our art and our lives.

Meet the Business Owner

Mela D.

Business Owner

Mela Delgado is the beautiful face behind galaARTS. She is a professional artist or better yet creative entrepreneur that believes that taking time to make art and being surrounded by it can make you understand yourself, life and can make the world a better place.

Now for academics, she earned her BFA from La Escuela de Artes Plasticas de Puerto Rico, and her MA in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA.

Mela has exhibited her art in Puerto Rico, South Florida and the San Francisco Bay Area. She creates private art commissions for homes and business, and volunteers her creative talents to non profits in her community.

Apart form running galaARTS, she works at The San Francisco Mexican Museum and teaches private and public after school art in Alameda, CA.

Currently, Mela was chosen as one of the Hearts Sculpture Artist for the 2016 Hearts in San Francisco Project by the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation.

Oh! She is also a full-​time Mama of Gala.
