I got my dress altered at here a few weeks ago and the lady there is super nice and they did good job of altering my dress. The price was a little more expensive than I expected though

Five super big stars! I found a Marc Jacobs sports coat at Crossroads used clothing store, and it fit perfectly but sleeves needed taking up. The first five star Unilocal alterations place I went to in alameda took one look at the jacket and said they couldn’t work with it because the buttons/holes on sleeve wouldn’t allow for it. So I thought I’d get a second opinion, and the woman here measured my sleeves and macguyver-Ed it by taking off the buttons, taking the sleeves up(it ended up needing to be taken up past the original holes), then reattaching the buttons. Looks great! Couldn’t be happier with quality AND service!

Ok… amazing customer service! They are getting five stars and I haven’t even got my clothes back yet. My first time here and the owner was very sweet and even offered me a beverage.

I brought in two coats to be altered(one vintage cashmere) and one that was just too big. They were sweet enough to call me when they realized that if they made alterations to my second coat, it wouldn’t be right for the fit. I had three blazers dry cleaned and two coat alterations for $ 109. Not bad! My cashmere coat made a complete transformation and I couldn’t be happier. My boyfriend also gets his suits and shirts altered here and they always fit great. I highly recommend this place!

I’m only giving 3 stars because this place is SO expensive. $ 15 to take a hem out and $ 16 for a shirt taper is a little ridiculous to me especially since the alterations done were very minimal. The lady was very friendly and she did have my clothes ready by the time I asked.

I had an issue an Ester’s son resolved it. If you want to support a business that cares about customer satisfaction, go here.

Based on the great reviews on alterations, I decided to have my suit altered here. When I tried it on today, it was perfect! Great customer service and great alterations, I’ll definitely come back soon!

Esther and her sons offer great neighborhood laundry, dry-cleaning, and alteration services at reasonable prices, always with a smile. She really cares about her customers. We are lucky that she is only one block from our home. Her meticulous alteration services are very reasonably priced and always just what we need on everything from men’s suits and slacks to Linda’s jeans. She reuses wire hangers so we take ours back to her instead of having to throw them away in the trash. We patronize her business once or twice a week. If we need it, on-street parking is convenient.

I won’t have alterations done anywhere else– Esther is a master at her craft. She knows what looks good & she makes it so. Her prices are very reasonable, as is her turnaround time.

This place is the only place I go for alterations. Esther always gets my seams and measurements on target, not too loose or tight, and she can work with any type of fabric. I’ve taken shirts, pants, and jackets and she tells me she can do everything else. I believe her. She is great at alterations and she is remarkably reasonable.

The service was fairly good, and the people friendly, but we had a few issues I took in my husband’s uniform shirts and a pair of slacks. We asked for medium starch on the shirts, and received a small amount of starch starch at all. The clothes where clean and that is what matters. She was good at getting out some of those pesky stains that my husband likes to get. SO, not that big of a deal, I just need to define what I am expecting a little more. Unfortunately, she requires a $ 10 minimum to use a card, which is high considering the average price of service(2 – 3 dollars a shirt). I wrote her a check, and she watched me do it, and I paid for the service. A good thing is that when I had forgotten my wallet, and she was kind enough to call me back to tell me. But she called 4 times. In the evening, when my husband and I were at the movies. There was no way that she would have known that I was at the movies the first time, but after I say that I will be in first thing in the morning, I shouldn’t have to say it four times. To be honest, she has a fairly Chinese accent so I had a hard time understanding her over the phone. When we arrive to pick up the wallet, she says she can’t take our check we had written because the bank is based in Texas. So far as I know, it really doesn’t matter where a check is from, it works just like a card and is basically a contract saying that I will pay you XX dollars. Texas is where USAA headquarters is. If you are a dry cleaner in Alameda, a heavy military community, and you don’t take USAA checks, then it is going to be fairly difficult to get paid. It would be easier to accept all checks, or not accept checks at all. As I stated before: The service was fairly good, the people are friendly, and I am very grateful to have my wallet back, but there are just a few issues to work out.

I stopped here because my regular dry cleaner’s doors were locked for some reason, and because this place is convenient for me. I dropped off some clothes and a couple of days later, they called to tell me they were having trouble getting some stains out of some of the clothes. Very nice that they called. Prices seem a bit high, and it seems that the cleaning took a day or two longer than I am used to, but overall I am satisfied. I’ll have to try their tailoring someday Easy street parking.

Great, experienced seamstress. Good service and good prices. I will come again for alterations and for dry cleaning. I recently came here on a recommendation from my mom to get two items that I had a lot of difficulty figuring out how to fix on my own. I had a trenchcoat that had a lining that kept coming out at the cuff and a structured/corsetted, silk bridesmaid dress. The woman who owns the shop was really patient and was great at troubleshooting. Before her help, it was a very bad fit for me. I was most impressed with how she was able to figure out how to adjust the very structured corsetted part of the dress and hem it seamlessly. She also knew exactly what to do with the trenchcoat to solve my issues of constantly getting the cuffs dirty while securing the lining so that it didn’t keep coming out. The owner is nice and she keeps an orderly place and sewing area. There’s also a cute little changing area, hidden to most passerby-ers. You could tell she puts a lot of meticulous thought into her projects.
