Emmanuel’s is a great shop. He is honest, competent, reasonable, and accommodating. I’ll come here first whenever I have exhaust system issues in the future.

Emmanuel knew exactly what the issue was, he put it up on the rack and showed me. I have a very low car. Part of my exhaust system had separated. The part was very expensive. Emmanuel said he could weld the the part rather than replace it (its ridiculously expensive). An hour later and only $ 80 I drove off with a quiet fixed car! I am thrilled with the out come!

I got a quote in the morning, and the work was done by 12:30 the same day! Emmanual himself did the job, and the price was 40% less than the other location I checked. My mechanic had referred me, so that helped me feel even more comfortable with the location. Its nearby to the Alameda cafes and boutiques, so you can have some café time while you wait. Great job, fast and reasonably priced.

I went to get the front CC replaced at this shop last month. He was fast, and the service was reasonably priced. Being a not-​so-​mechanical gal, I was nervous, but I am glad that I chose him to get this done. I think he is a good, honest mechanic. Thank you Emmanuel! I passed the smog:) Hooray!

Helped fix my stripped exhaust studs and bent my exhaust for extra clearance from the frame as well! All done for a very reasonable price and fast work. Was in and out of the shop in about 30 minutes.

I bought a catalytic converter for my Nissan and he installed it for me. Very competitive prices and good service. It was done on the spot with minimal waiting.
I also came back years later because the smog place said there might be a leak. He made time to get my car on the lift to check for leaks. There was a small leak downstream of the catalytic converter that doesn’t affect smog but he fixed it anyway. That is good service, especially because it was years later after I bought the catalytic converter! Thanks Emmanuel!

Last Fall Emmanuel replaced the 2 mufflers on my 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air to perfection. Recently a rattle developed in the back of the car. I thought I found a loose tailpipe bolt and asked Emmanuel to look at it. He told me to come back this morning. He put my car up on his lift and tightened a loose bolt. A test drive still had the rattle. I went back to the shop and Emmanuel once again put the Bel Air on the lift. Using his experience and skill he found a loose shock absorber nut! He tightened both nuts and test drove my now rattle-​free classic!
Emmanuel is a skilled mechanic and all around nice guy. Payment for his services was simply a handshake. I recommend Emmanuel’s Mufflers in Alameda CA without hesitation!

Every now and then, you have a business transaction that flat out leaves you feeling good. Emmanuel is just a decent guy, doing the dirty work of muffler repair, applying old school customer service techniques.
I mean, who enjoys getting muffler work done, right? I’ve been in a few times over the years. The most recent trip was to get a catalytic converter replaced. It required a little custom work, and not only was Emmanuel’s price incredibly fair, his ability to explain what he was doing and why made me feel very comfortable.

I have had multiple cars serviced by Emmanuel in the past and the workmanship was top notch! I have brought cars and SUVs ranging from a 71 Nova to now my 2010 Challenger R/​T.
His prices are more than reasonable and his welds are world class!

Just a week after getting my muffler installed here, i ran over some invisible obstruction on the road, that punctured my exhaust pipe. i brought it here without even calling in and they fixed me up in the time it took to smoke a cigarette.
cut the pipe, bent a new one into shape and welded it in place for about what i pay for a tank of gas.

I came here based on all of the great reviews but have to say my initial impression is less than stellar.
I checked the business hours before making the trip but when I got there, the shop was not open. They are supposed to open at 8AM and I waited until 8:25 AM and then tried calling from my cellphone. Emmanuel answered and said something came up and he was running late.
This is fine, I understand that you can’t always be on time to work. But, as it turns out, one of his employees was sitting in his car in the parking lot, sleeping. I thought it was another customer waiting just like me.
Emmanuel should have phoned the employee and had him stand by the shop entrance to greet customers and let them know they were running late. Especially since he could see that I was looking around and waiting. Or, if Emmanuel knew he might be late to work the night before, he could post a note on the door stating so, which would have also been fine with me.
But I spent the better part of 25 minutes wondering what was going on. I even started calling around to other exhaust shops and almost left.
When Emmanuel finally got to the shop, opened, and the employee (not Emmanuel) started work on my car, things seemed fine. But Emmanuel actually left the shop at this point to go get some coffee, and then came back about 20 minutes later.
It’s only been a day since the cat-​back system was installed so I have no idea how well the workmanship will hold up, but hopefully it will.
I have no complaint about the price charged as it seemed fairly reasonable versus what other shops quoted.

Went in for a quote on ⁴⁄₁₄ and Emmanuel said he could replace the muffler and have it completed in 45 mins. Told him I’d be back the following Sat at 10am. Brought the car in this morning and Emmanuel wrote up the estimate and said it was $ 8 less than the quote. Went to get some breakfast and came back in about 45 mins and the job was done and the car was waiting for me in the parking area.
Settled the bill with Emmanuel and I was on my way. Emmanuel was a friendly, straight to the point guy. Highly recommend Emmanuel’s for very quick, very honest and very reasonable muffler work.

I think this is one of the best shops around for automotive needs. I have this fetish for old BMW’s and Emmanuel has done three systems on three different cars I have owned. Great quality work, he offers different solutions and great pricing. I was totally happy that he was able to find a muffler system for my car and finish the job shortly after lunch.
The strange thing this morning a customer came into the shop with his Toyota Tacoma because someone stole his catalytic converter. The same situation happen to me with my Toyota truck right in front of my place two years ago. The converters supposedly have precious metals thus thieves steal them and try to re-​sell them. If I had gone to the dealers I would have spent over $ 500.00 but not such the case at Emanuel’s.
Definitely worth the visit.
