Great local sandwich shop, love the Mediterranean! Owner is super cool, great place.

It’s a sandwich. Nothing to particularly write home about. Maybe some of their other stuff is more memorable? My husband and I went once, sat at one of the(the only?) tiny tables on the sidewalk and not again.

Not Eek… just Ehhh. The guy that was running this place is SUPER nice. The prices are fine, the place seems clean and cozy… but I’d recommend STRONGLY against the Gyro. I mean I wasn’t expecting perfection. but it had almost nothing on it. The sauce was WAY off. not convinced it wasn’t just mayo with some spice in it. The meat was very very dry with no flavor. I’d check out the photos before you come here and make sure you see a pic of something you want before you spend the money…

Going to high school near here we got to try a lot of places. I never really tried anything else other than the turkey specials when i was like a freshman or sophomore but when i wanted to feel fancy and splurge a little more for a sandwich i would get the tijuana. Its 6.50 but i am still addicted to it. When im in a rush before i go to work now, yes work ive been coming here for awhile so i figure its time for a review– i’d call in and just pick it up before i go. They have their own parking lot next to the store so thats super convenient. The tijuana has avocado, roast beef, and pepperjack, i get it light lettuce and no onions. Ill be back soon!

Don’t park your car in their lot as they lock you in for the night!!! Omg — what an asshole move for Alameda! Never will I eat there again!

The place may not look too inviting at first and not very well lit on the inside but this local joint has the best turkey and provolone I have ever had(they forsure don’t skimp you on the turkey). Maybe its the fact that I grew up in this city and shared some fond memories over these subs, but I haven’t found a simple turkey and provolone made the same way. There’s nothing fancy in the sandwich, others have claimed it to be boring, but the simplicity in maintaining the integrity of a turkey and provolone sandwich paired with some Miss Vickie’s jalapeño chips gives me that homey and familiar feeling with every bite.

I used to go here quite often many years ago. They had a good sandwich back then. The place looks brighter and cleaner now, the staff was friendly. The sandwich was nothing like the Dimitra’s of long ago. I had a turkey avocado. The bread was dry, waay too much Mayo that made everything slippery. The turkey was the pressed stuff that no matter what, tastes like processed ham from Oscar Meyer’s. The shredded lettuce was not the best choice and slid all over the place. Yeah, I won’t be going back. These guys really don’t know what a good sandwich is like.

Solid. Not much has changed over the years. The Dimitra’s Sub is the go to sandwich, though others are fine. I’ve been going here for years and am always satisfied. They rarely have off days and the pricing is on point.

Been eating here for several years now, even after it changed hands, and find it filling with fresh ingredients, good bread, and most of all, inexpensive for a lunch. They don’t serve much else, some drinks, chips, a cookie… but what the hell, I came for a sandwich, and this is the place

Most disgusting, boring, and bland sandwich I’ve EVER eaten. Got the Teriyaki Chicken one if anyone cares. Had a couple bites and threw it away. I’d rather eat nothing. What a waste of $ 8 … I will NEVER go back !!

This place is okay. I guess I’m kind of a sandwich snob… I got two sandwiches. Both of them Turkey. The bread was dry and the turkey meat was slimy, like the kind of meat you get at Subway. I rate my sandwiches in Alameda from 1 – 10, with 1 being a Safeway Deli Sandwich(blech) and 10 being a Domenico’s sandwich(food of the gods)… sandwich board is around 8… and Demitra’s is about a 4. The owners are friendly… but they could improve the quality of the food. The prices are really cheap, but I don’t mind paying more for a good sandwich. They’re also open til 6 on Sundays, which is awesome since Sandwich Board and Domenicos aren’t.

I have been going here for a long time and I currently go here a few times a week. I was surprised at the reviews on here because I think it’s a good place. I always get the same things. I recommend the dimitras sub or the California split. I love the potato salad or a boiled egg. Pricing is reasonable and the service is fast… beware of all the high school kids around lunch hour but even then they are fast… really what’s not to like its a sandwich spot on the island… and they care.

Love love love this place. My regular hot roast beef with everything extra peppers yes please!!! Service is fast because i come before the school lunch and its a small spot so would recommend to order Togo plus they got a parking lot! Makes it so much easier. Price is great wide selection of favorite beverages, noticed they have fresh potato salad that’s cool but awesome deli and delicious sandwiches

Since the old owners sold the business it’s never been the same. I miss how it use to be.

I’m in love with the turkey, roast beef and avocado sandwich, aka the Texarkana. The owner is very nice and always keeps the shop clean.

B.B.Q Beef sandwich is microwaved pre packaged roast beef tossed in BBQ sauce. Gyros meat also kept in container in the fridge and microwaved to order. First and last time coming here.

It is probably closer to 4 stars, but I am trying to offset all these low reviews. I went in there, asked what is good and got the #1 Dimtras sandwich or whatever. A bag of chips and a drink for like 8 bucks. Great price and it was a great sandwich. Soft, fresh bread and perfect amount of meat and produce. Staff was friendly and fast. I did notice that the drink refrigerators were kind of dirty like on the top shelves. In reality the drinks are enclosed in a container so some soot on the shelves wont effect me, but it was there. If you go to Jack in the box over this place– shame on you.

Greek sandwich shop. It is what it is. I asked for an Italian hero, like a godfather. She knew what I was talking about, but asked me if I wanted mayo and mustard on it… Va fangoul! She did make the sandwich to my specifications and was pleasant. Sandwich was ok but it wasn’t fantastic. The wine vinegar tastes kinda bad. I wouldn’t go out of my way but I wouldn’t avoid it. Accepts MasterCard and visa, convenient side parking lot.

A friend brought me here for lunch because it’s her favorite sandwich place in Alameda. Never again: 1. Will I come here, and 2. Trust this friend’s food judgment. On that oh so disappointing day, I ordered a sandwich that I’ve erased from my memory. It was worse than any sandwich that I could have made at home and the cleanliness level of this place really worries me.
