This library is very small. Not to much of a section on books. The library is more to a Children to teen books type.

It’s a small library and definitely geared toward children with little seats and tables. Great parking, next to a play structure, grocery and drug store, and restaurants Unfortunately the hours are very limited, especially with additional cuts as of July 2011.

Easy to park, friendly and helpful staff. Not crowded. Sweet family stor time on Tuesday evenings. They may not have the biggest selection but they will order anything for you from the main branch. I love it here.

Cute but TINY library mainly stocked with children’s books. Not much to see here other than that. If you want anything else go to the Main branch.(This one’s waaaay too small/limited if you ask me!) 2 stars for the tiny size & misleading name… — Should be called«Bay Farm Island Children’s Library» to avoid people wasting their time.

The Bay Farm branch library is a lovely stand alone library with a very limited selection of books compared to the larger Main Library and West End Branches of the City of Alameda library system. This branch tends to be extremely quiet, but there aren’t very many tables for studying and few computers for internet browsing or book searches. There is an entire corner of the library devoted to the children’s section, and several children’s story time readings during the week, including a bilingual reading every other Saturday from 11 to 11:30 in English and Madarin Chinese and a weekly bedtime story time on Tuesdays from 7 to 7:30 in the evening. For now, its hours are limited, closed entirely on Fridays and Sundays. I generally use this library to have books sent here from the Main library or West End Branch if it’s inconvenient to go directly to that branch, or I’ll use it to drop off my books for the same reason. The limited selection and relatively few computers here limit this branch to three stars, but the new main library gets 5 stars. Oh, and continuing on my theme for footsie opportunities in libraries, I’ll go with extremely limited here. This branch tends to cater a lot more towards the children residing on Bay Farm Island, so pretty much no chance. Unless you’re into that sort of thing, but I’m pretty sure you get serious time for doing that.
