Driving through when in town to see fsu play. Very dissapointed. High prices and rude employees mean I’ll be spending money elsewhere for my next visit. AFL and t3 have lost my business.

Customer service sucks !! No return policy !! I have been shopping at AFL since it opened and at first it had great customer service, but in the past couple years the service has gone down !! Bought a large Safe $ 2500.00 and had it delivered and when the guys were putting it in my house one of the guys«Keith“put about a 3» gouged /scratch on it, just above the door! Went back to AFL and complained and was told that the guy who scratched it would fix it! Yeah right about a week later I went back to the store and he handed my a small bottle of touch up paint for me to fix !! This was strike 2 now and has lost my business !! 2nd complaint My wife and kids bought me a $ 379.00 Yeti Cooler for Father’s Day 2015 and used it the first time 1 week later on a week long trip to Tennessee, in 68 degree weather, the cooler would not hold ice! I had to buy ice everyday! Once home went back to AFL and complained about the cooler, the girls at the counter called for Keith to check it out and was told that it may be the gasket and for me to call Yeti ! I called Yeti and was told that it probably was the gasket and why didn’t the dealer take care of it? Went back to AFL and spoke to the owner who advised that they just sell them and he will speak to someone, but that the warranty is up to Yeti and the buyer!!‘ They don’t warranty anything !

Just purchased a pair of Carolina boots there. The help was courteous, attentive and patient.(I’m difficult to please when it comes to footwear.) This place is huge and can be your«one stop shop» for most anything other than groceries… kind of a fun place. To top it off, they were running a sale so the boots were 20 percent off. I’m a firearms enthusiast and their gun shop is fairly impressive and stocks most of the needed items. I’m sure this won’t be my last purchase… definitely worth the drive from Gainesville.

Great for guns and archery gear. They also have all your regular feed store items. All prices are slightly below other stores! I only wish they were closer to where I live. Worth the drive.

Alachua Farm & Lumber is a fun store to peruse as they have such a large variety of stuff to look through, most of which you’re not going to get at a store like Lowes. The main categories of product they sell are: lumber, archery/guns, feed/seed, fishing equipment, clothing, and hardware. If you’re looking for a dedicated store that specializes in just one of these product areas, thus having a bigger selection, you might not find what you need. They have a good enough selection though to meet most people’s needs. I generally shop here for feed and seed. For seed you can buy in bulk towards the back of the store in the hardware department. The lady that runs the back of the store is extremely helpful and always such a pleasant person to have been helped by. I’ve had good luck growing what I’ve purchased from them. The only feed I buy is chicken feed. For the most part the feed has been good, except for it coming with bugs occasionally. The quality of their chicks appears to have gone down over the years though(or we’ve just had bad luck). This is more of a supplier problem than a problem with AF&L. We buy small batches of chicks each year, and last year half died before growing to maturity due to defects(cross bill, etc). This year we’ve had to start buying chicks elsewhere. Like a lot of places in Alachua, the hours are not ideal for customers who work an 8 – 5. They are open briefly in the mornings on Saturday, which is usually the only time I’m able to shop here. There have been many a weekend where I had to drive to Tractor Supply in Jonesville, because Alachua Farm and Lumber wasn’t open. Extended weekend hours would be nice as I’d prefer to buy local than at the competition. If you’re the kind of person that enjoys visiting mom & pop style hardware stores to see what neat little things you’ll find, then you should give AF&L a visit.

What began as a very helpful experience ended with an unbelieveable result. While taking my daughter to breakfast before school on her 15th birthday, the waitress spilled milk all over her. Since we didn’t have time to run home & change, we went to AFL so she could get some nice jeans & still make it in time for her exams. My daughter had picked out a pair of really cute jeans that cost $ 88. It was a bit more than other stores, but not by much. After wearing them out of the store & to school, they loosened to the point, that I had to bring her something else to wear,(this isn’t the stores fault, I know. R&R Cowgirl) What is the fault of the store was that they refused to EXCHANGE the jeans… not refund… EXCHANGE! We had reciept, we had the jeans with not one spot on them & only worn 30 minutes! They didn’t even try to help make us, the customer happy. What kind of place does this? I can’t afford to just throw away $ 90. Macy’s, Belk’s & even friggin’ Walmart will exchange items. Especially expensive ones. The fact that they are supposed to be a family place, an honest place, a place that is helpful to the community… it amazes me that these people treat others this way. I’m from Nashville, TN& haven’t been here long, but Alachua Farm & Lumber make my old hometown look friendly.

A vast, nearly impossibly large and diverse store carrying everything one needs to live, work, or have fun in the country. From pet and livestock feed to archery and hunting needs – including a great selection of firearms – to hardware, tools, and lumber to work clothing and Western wear, it’s seriously all here. Just amazing, and the people who work there are super-nice, too. I read the negative review claiming at least some of the staff are racist: I cannot disprove that person’s experience, but it seems a bit fishy because when I was there, I saw two African-American customers shopping quite contently and moreover, the area around Alachua/High Springs has a decent-sized Black population and I find it hard to believe a store this size would do anything to alienate a large customer base. It just doesn’t seem like something that would happen here. Local stores in small towns cannot get away with offending anyone, really, because word travels fast. And believe me, it would hurt them. I would very much rather support this local business for my hardware/lumber needs than the corporate world of Lowe’s or Home Depot and certainly will return for things I need for archery, because they easily have the best selection around. In addition, if you’re into crossbows like I am, you’ll feel like a kid in a candy store because they have an altogether GREAT crossbow selection.

Great old country feed store with a very good selection of hunting rifles and pistols. They sell all your typical farmer/rancher might need as well as 50lb bags of whole corn for hunters to stock their feeders. They have a very large selection of hunting accessories, ammo, and other interesting items like locally made honey. Also a very large dog and horse feed and tackle supplier. its worth the drive to Alachua. Only open until 1pm on Saturday and closed on Sundays.
